The sunlight penetrated the window in the apartment room on the fifth floor, highlighting Attar who was fast asleep. The room was quite spacious looking collapsed, a pair of white shoes and stilltto was on the sofa, some empty drink bottles on the floor of the room and some snack packs that contained only remnants, scattered.
Slowly, the man who fell asleep without wearing the shirt opened his eyes. His view is faint, beng. He circled his gaze across the room, guessing where he was now.
Suddenly a woman pokes out from under a white blanket. The face that was still filled with makeup was smiling at Attar.
"Morning," he said in a raucous voice.
Attar smiled as he recalled the name of the woman beside him. The footage of last night's party unfurled like puzzle pieces scattered then slowly found their partner again. He began to remember the beginning of his meeting with the girl next to him until he ended up in bed.
"Do you want breakfast downstairs?" that raucous voice broke the flashback from the space Attar thought.
Attar glanced at his watch.
"Gue has to go back," he answered rubbing his face.
"A promise again?" the woman nodded while pulling her arm.
Attar nodded awkwardly, letting go of the woman's hand slowly as she got out of bed, tightened her jeans and grabbed her black shirt and sneakers.
"Can we meet again?" This time his voice was loud.
"We'll see, ok?"
He replied with a smile and drowned himself in the blanket. Meanwhile, Attar staggered towards the door of the room.
"Eh, if you're thirsty there's bottled mineral water in the kitchen, Tar." The brunette-colored, curly-haired woman poked back.
"OKs. Thank you." - Thank you." Attar disappeared from behind the door.
Some of her friends are lying on the floor and Ziko, her best friend, is asleep on the sofa in the living room. Attar moved slowly into the kitchen of the owner of this luxury apartment. He grabbed two bottles of mineral water that were not neatly arranged, hurriedly opened and sipped them slowly. Then, he stepped over to Ziko who was snoring loudly.
"No!" call him to walk closer to Ziko.
The Thai-Medan man replied with a snoring.
Attar patted Ziko on the back.
"Well?!" sontak Ziko woke up. Heavyly gathering his consciousness.
"Take off now" said Attar again sipped mineral water to the toilet.
Ziko sat down while rubbing her eyes.
"Bro, it's still early this morning!" his protest after seeing his watch.
Attar thrust bottled mineral water at his best friend.
"Thanks!" said it.
"Gue go back first if that's why I want to come this afternoon."
"Is there a similar event?"
"Lunch is just like that."
"Okay, your car just stay later I bring it back to your house," he suggested. "Eh, but tonight's gonna be a party at Xnight's club?"
"So, but don't tell him if there's an event tonight" Attar said, handing over his car keys.
"Amela?"
Attar nodded as he stepped past Ziko.
"Aye-aye, Captain!"
Attar was always acting stupid with women who did not want to date again. After all, last night was just like any other night, under the influence of alcohol. He just keeps his distance so as not to fall into a complicated relationship.
**
Attar stepped foot into the apartment lobby. He smiled kindly at the security that opened the door.
"Mas Attar, I've been waiting" he said politely.
"Well, sir?"
"About an hour ago" he answered.
"OKAY. Thank you Mr. Jamal."
"Together, my mother."
He hastened his steps. Sure enough, the woman wearing a white shirt, light blue jeans and sneakers in color matching her shirt, looks to sit back while touching her smartphone.
"Bun, why didn't Attar call anyway?"
"Hey, handsomes!" the woman whose hair began to be dominated by silvery then approached Attar. Kiss her with affection.
"Your phone is not active" said the mother relaxed. "Happy birthday, yes. Mother wishes the best for everything, including you to be better at behaving. Aamiin's." He again landed a kiss on Attar's forehead.
"Amijin!" answer Attar. "My cellphone is lowbatt, Bun, forgot to charge last night," he replied again after taking the phone from his waist bag.
"You smell so bad, son!"
Attar laughed and only realized that before he left his date's apartment, he forgot to wash his face.
"no, I took a taxi home. The car will be taken with Ziko."
"Oh, please bring dong," said the woman giving two large shopping bags.
"What the hell is it, Bun?" He held both bags.
"A lot of it and you'll like it!" said enthusiastically.
"Yeah right!" cibir Attar who must be ready with various foods that will be crammed the Mother.
"Dad called?"
"Yet. Maybe later. Nothing is more important than his job."
"Make sure your phone is, believe me Mother," He gently rubbed Attar's back.
"We'll see, Bun." Attar's voice sounded doubtful.
The father is a hard worker and often forgets little momentum but actually means a lot like birthdays or wedding anniversaries. In fact, he often forgets his own birthday and lucky 65-year-old man married a woman who can complete it.
**
Attar's phone rings. He grabbed it lazily then gasped when he saw the name of a person on the incoming call. He sat on the edge of the bed, staring doubtfully at the brightly lit screen.
Attar cleared his throat, "Hello.." she replied.
"Hey, how are you?" the crisp sound was heard again after a few years had passed.
"good. You how are you?" ask Attar while keeping the phone away and pulling and exhaling.
"good. Happy birthday, yes!"
"Good, La."
"Healthy always and quickly married. Aamiin's."
"Aamiinu. You finished your studies?" his heart sank when he heard the second prayer from him.
"Udah. Are you a party or not this year?"
He mute.
"Tar?"
"Hmm, no, not really," she lied.
"Great Sounds. That's dong! How is ziko? still a party?"
"You asked him yourself."
The woman who had once made herself lose her way, chuckled across there.
"Anyway, I'd like to send you dinner invitations, Panji, Erika, and some other friends. I'll send them to your address, okay?"
This woman named Ella had indeed stopped in her heart. Starting from his meeting at a club and for the first time he paid more attention to the woman who turned out to be on campus with him. In the past, Ella wanted to marry Attar when they were both young because she did not want to separate from him when going to study post-graduate programs abroad, although it only takes about two years.
At that time, Attar had not thought of a marriage even though he loved Ella and ended a one-night date with any girl. Until finally, Attar chose to let go because he was too scared to hear the word “wedding”. There was a hint of guilt and regret in her heart when she heard Ella was about to marry another man because last time, just before Ella's wedding day, she said, he received a chat that said his ex-lover still loved him. However, Attar chose to only read the contents of his chat.
"Should there be such an event? It's been a long time." Attar chuckles.
"You tuh. It used to be a wedding when I had no reception, Tar. Fly straight to Aussie."
"I see," he said briefly.
"You should come!" his orders.
"I'm working on it."
"Ih! What is busy?" the tone of his voice remained the same as when they were still together.
"The densely slithered party," he joked.
Ella's crisp laugh echoed, then said, "he said it's not a party?"
"Can't say nothing but come to the party of friends," he chuckled.
"Basik you. Just don't want to know how, you have to come!"
"Okay.ok, I'll come." Attar chuckles. "Anyway, Ayu will soon be getting married, Erika will be her wedding organizer. You invited him?"
"No really. Maybe because Ayu doesn't know that I'm in Jakarta yet." The noise across there gave Attar pause to sigh.
"Yes too.padahat exciting tuh can reunion."
"And I'll get a reunion on my show. Uh, Tar, I have to go, see you later and thank you for being repotted. Bye, Tar!"
"OKs. Bye, La." He ended the conversation on the phone while speechless as his thought space reopened the old pages of their story.
“Should I not have to come?” dilemma muttered.
