Crossing the World

Crossing the World
XXXVIII - World (Karen)

"Yah~ for the opening greeting, I'll tell you something. I'm not human."

That opening sentence was the first to come out of the mouth of a brunette girl who was now sitting on a wooden chair facing a simple wooden table in front of me. He put his luggage on the table, slightly distancing the various types of food that Aura had arranged.

I who was still wary of him could only remain standing in silence, looking at him with full vigilance. Then, after falling into a silent atmosphere for some time, the girl spoke again.

"I'm actually a mollusk that suddenly recalled my past life, then used an ancient technique to transform into a human form."

...

Ha?!

His first words surprised me a little. Now he's saying something absurd that might not even come true.

I was a bit annoyed by her words that seemed to think of me as a child and tried to fool me with such absurd things, but then Aura confirmed her words like before. He said that what he said was the truth.

[There are no lies in his words]

No, there's no way he's really a mollusk transformed into a human. Moreover, experiencing reincarnation and remembering his past life! I refuse to believe!

"The person behind me isn't human either. Their real figure is actually a crocodile and a rat."

[No lies in his words]

Again Aura confirmed his words.

Now, instead of thinking of it as the truth, I thought Aura was conspiring with her and pranking me. They seem to have planned all this.

When I came to such a ridiculous conclusion, Aura suddenly continued her words which made me even more confused.

[However, based on the assessment of the anatomical structure of his body, I confirm him as a pure human being. There are no mollusks anywhere]

I don't understand the short explanation. So, I asked Aura to explain it in a little more detail.

Apparently, both the DNA and the number of chromosomes between humans and mollusks are different so that their evolutionary tree cannot be related. In addition, the grouping of mollusks is also very far from humans in the taxonomic table. So, even ordinary people will know that mollusks are impossible to have an identical body anatomy with humans.

The Aura's assessment through polygraphs and body anatomy is contradicted. Then, there are only two conclusions I can draw from this observation, namely between Aura who is unable to detect lies or her inability to assess the anatomy of the body.

I personally believe in the first conclusion.

When I fell into such an afterthought, the white-robed girl who was still standing behind the brunette girl began to speak in a taut tone, looks unhappy with the words of his friend some time ago.

"I know you're just playing around with your lying ability. However, please don't equate me with a rat or a crocodile."

Based on that short remark, I instantly caught an important point in their conversation.

No doubt, all his words were just lies. The brunette girl in front of me lied all the time. His goal might be only one, which was to prove that Aura's ability to detect lies was completely useless before him.

"And please return my suitcase, Commander." The one who spoke next was the other girl behind him, a figure who had been holding a dangerous red sword ever since. "I don't think you're using my gun case for unimportant things."

Hearing the complaints from the two people who were with her, the girl sighed as she opened the suitcase that was in front of her.

"You two really don't have a good sense of humor. Don't get too stiff like that or you'll age fast" the girl complained. His hands took out all sorts of things from inside his suitcase.

The first thing he took out was a plate and two cups. Then, he took out a plastic bag containing pieces of vegetables that were instantly opened and laid out on a plate. He poured a thick white liquid from a bottle that read mayonnaise. Not wrong, he was making a salad right in front of me!

After finishing preparing the salad on the table, the girl suddenly raised her voice, looking excited by something.

Wait a minute, that's alcohol, right? 'Can?! Why did you bring alcohol here?! After all, your age still does not meet the standards for drinking alcohol!

Ah, I actually don't know his age, but if looking at his appearance, I'm sure he's still not allowed to drink alcohol.

He kept a bottle of alcohol on the table and handed the suitcase in front of him to the sword-bearer. The girl then touched the blade of her red sword, then somehow, the blade of her blade separated into two halves that were each only 30 centimeters long. Both parts of his sword were put into the suitcase that had loaded the food. Apparently, the sword can be removed to make it easier when stored.

"The next time you borrow my suitcase, I won't give it to you." The girl seemed to be complaining and constantly protesting.

"I knew. No need to be that angry."

Well, I can understand his feelings. Of course it is very annoying if you have a boss like him ...

... wait a minute, boss? Is this their boss? How confusing. Well, actually I was in a position that was not suitable to question this considering that I was also the boss in my group and looked the youngest. Yes, the youngest is the right word to describe myself.

The brunette girl started pouring alcohol into the two cups she was carrying, then shifted one of them towards me even though Dina, Renal, was, and Johan sat on the wooden chair and watched them very naturally. He seems to know that I am the only person living in my group.

My real body was covered completely by the exoskeleton armor. So, he should have mistakenly recognized me and instead thought I was the same as a robot controlled by Aura. However, the attitude of the three people before me clearly showed that they were aware of me as their leader.

Seriously, how did they know?

"Sit down and drink with me. Also take off your cosplay outfits that look heavy and troublesome."

The brunettes girl spoke again, this time her words were directed at me.  I who was still wary of him just sat down without saying a word, still looking at the focus towards him.

His forehead suddenly frowned, seemingly somewhat distracted by something.

"I told you to take off your cosplay outfit."

He pointed at me with a wooden fork he held in his right hand. Then, before I could realize it, a strange thing suddenly happened.

The armor I used started to open on its own. My connection with the exoskeleton armor was also severed. Not only that, some of the gears and bolts that became the lock between the primorial metals of carbon simply slipped out, tumbling onto the sand of the beach under my feet. Immediately my real body was exposed in front of the three.

"Maura!"

The panicked me immediately jumped back and gave the sudden order to Aura. The three cyborgs I controlled - Dina, Johan, and Renal - immediately pointed railgun guns at the brunettes while I tried to distance myself from them.

I don't know what's going on, but the release of my armor is very abnormal. It was impossible for the exoskeleton armor to be damaged by itself. Therefore, as soon as the armor I was wearing came off, I immediately came to the conclusion that they were doing something I did not know.

"Bless your hands and stay in place! We won't hesitate to shoot!"

Aura started warning the three, telling them not to do suspicious things. Meanwhile, from the depths of the sea, hundreds of humanoid robots began to spring to the surface and walk towards us. Both hands of the robots are equipped with long-barreled anti-tank rifles that can penetrate even the strongest tanks.

Seeing a previously quiet place become very crowded by the robot army makes me remember the science fiction films that tell about robots taking over the world. It was rather terrifying to see this scene in person. However, since I know that Aura is controlling them, I feel more and more secure being there.

Both balls of my eyes looked towards the three of them, merely wanting to see their reactions after seeing our military might. However, the moment I saw the three of them, instead of feeling scared, they seemed to respond to nothing. They remain in the position as before.

Could it be that they thought that we would not dare to shoot?

Well, come to think of it, it would be a big deal if I killed a messenger. The state will not remain silent once I act. We could have made the world an enemy and I failed to benefit from the earth without causing troublesome things.

Aura might have also taken this into account beforehand. He did not shoot and chose to warn them.

Let's see what they'll do after this. May the three decide to take the path of peace.
