Chapter 46
Ali gasped at Hafsah's words. The outline of their embrace and then look at the wife's netra. She was afraid of mishearing and the wife was teasing herself.
"Sa–yang, just now bi–lang an–ak?" ali asked stuttering with a surprised look.
How happy Hafsah is right now. She had expected what her husband's first reaction would be like.
"I–ya, Bang. Here is our baby" replied Hafsah with a happy cry while stroking his flat stomach.
Ali who was still shocked by this shocking news was still in disbelief. His sharp eyes now sparkled showing how happy he was.
"God willing, O Allah."
Ali kissed his wife's face then on her stomach where there is a prospective successor is now starting to grow. The happy cry of the man broke while expressing his gratitude.
"Darling, it's dad" Ali said, mumbling Hafsah's stomach incessantly until he was satisfied.
Hafsah's heart was happy to hear her husband's words until his whole body shook. He knew how much Ali looked forward to the fruits of their love for 5 more years.
"How many weeks, honey?" tanya Ali who now stood up and hugged his wife's body.
Ali did not tire of looking at the wife who was soaked by tears of happiness. He himself did not when he had been crying.
"It's only been four weeks" replied Hafsah while wiping away the tears on Ali's cheeks.
"Oh Allah, may this pregnancy of our child be born and become a lamp of happiness in our family" Ali said praying with all his heart while placing his hand on the stomach of Hafsah.
"Bang, they are twins" whispered Hafsah with a sweet smile.
"Kem–bar?" Ali was again surprised when he heard back the happiness that doubled.
"O Allah, Alhamdulillah. You are Most Gracious already present directly two prospective children to us," continued Ali again crying stunned.
Hafsah also had not believed that in his stomach was growing two fetuses. A happy cry immediately broke because he felt that the child who had never been born, now God changed back.
Ali and Hafsah immediately take ablution water and perform sunah prayers. They are grateful for the provision of the child God gave them. Especially in his stomach there are two pieces of love that will be present later.
Ghani, who had been worried about Hafsah, followed him. Now the man was standing by the window and watching the happy couple.
'Thank goodness you are okay. Hopefully with the presence of your baby this can melt the heart of Bu Ruqoyah, ' Inner Ghani. Then, he left after seeing Ali and Hafsah finished praying.
As a sign of gratitude Ali sent money to one of his friends to give thanks for the orphans in the orphanage tomorrow. He could not come directly to the orphanage because he had to wait for his mother and Hafsah also had to rest a lot. He no longer wants to lose his child.
"Dear, sleep, yes!" pinta Ali told Hafsah to sleep on the sofa in the room.
"I'm not sleepy, Bang. This day I kept lying down and a few hours ago I just woke up" said Hafsah.
"Oh, yes. Where did you go? Brother is looking for you like a dazed person who doesn't know what to do" Ali asked timidly.
Then Hafsah told him what had happened to him from day to night. Ali felt very guilty for making the woman he loved hurt her heart.
"Astaghfirullahal'adzim, I almost forgot about Maryam's Midwife. How's he doing, Bang?" ask Hafsah who just remembered to the woman who had helped him first.
Ali also told me about their meeting. He also said that he had just found out that Hafsah had been pregnant and miscarried.
"Why did you hide it from your brother?" asked Ali curiously.
"I'm sorry, Bang. I'm afraid that you're angry and hate me for not being able to look after our baby" Hafsah replied with choking and tears breaking.
Hafsah recalled the events of the most painful day of his life. Where she miscarried and had to lose a fetus that was only 6 weeks old.
"Are you exhausted until you miscarry?" asked Ali with a sad look.
Seen the sadness and hurt from the radiance of Hafsah's eyes. Of course, the heart of a mother who will not grieve when losing her prospective child.
"Maryam's midwife said such a thing" replied Hafsah because she did not want her husband to view her as a petty woman or a liar and slandered her mother-in-law.
"Abang has heard everything from the midwives of Maryam and Bu Hajar. When you're out of town, I always tell you to help out at home, huh?"
Ali looked at Hafsah with pity. Her tears are back in the net. Truly he who feels he has become a husband and father who can not take care and protect the family.
"Abang wants to hear for yourself from your mouth, honey. What happened that day? Speak honestly. Brother will not be angry with anyone be it the same mother or you, dear," said Ali.
Actually from the past Hafsah often felt afraid to tell about her who had been pregnant, but had a miscarriage. The allegations of her mother-in-law who often said she was barren were always denied. This is because he is not barren. Likewise with fertility tests think she is ready to get pregnant and healthy condition of her uterus.
"Please, Honey. Don't let a brother like a fool know nothing about this wife I love so much!" pinta Ali's.
Hafsah nodded slowly.
"When you have a task out of town, I have two days at my parents' house. Mother asked me to go there because there will be a way for Alika's birthday and asked to help with the preparation of the event" Hafsah said quietly. He re-opened the memory 5 years ago.
"The day before the event my mother asked me to help clean the house and yard. That day I cleaned the whole house with Ma'am Hajar. In the afternoon, a rainstorm and branches of rambutan trees growing in the backyard broke down on the precarious warehouse and damaged it. As soon as the rain subsided we all cleaned up all the rest of the chaos caused by the rainstorm and the garbage also became scattered throughout the yard of the house, we cleaned up Magrib," continued Hafsah.
"The next day was Alika's birthday event, after the dawn prayers my mother and I went shopping to the market. My mom and I spent a lot of money to cook that day because Alika invited all her classmates and some teachers. Dad also asked to overestimate the portion to give to the neighbors. So I decided to cook twice the original plan. Finally I went back to shopping at the market alone," added the woman who is now in Ali's arms.
The man could imagine how busy and tired his wife was. Had he asked others for help in preparing for his sister's birthday, Hafsah might not have been exhausted and would not have miscarried.
'Astaghfirullah. What I was thinking just now. Forgive me O Allah, not that I reject the destiny that has happened to the servant family, ' Ali's inner self.
"Alika's birthday ceremony was completed once Magrib. However, there were some friends who did not come home and decided to stay at home. Mom asked me not to go home because I have to prepare breakfast for them tomorrow morning. I just returned home after Zuhur because I had to clean up the former birthday event. Moreover, the mother borrowed the buffet tools belonging to RT, so it must be returned immediately," said Hafsah and Ali who heard the story of his wife felt tight chest.
"I came home tired and my stomach since last night really hurt. At that time I thought only maag, because the two days I was always late to eat. However, when the foot set on the porch of the house I felt something running down the thigh to my leg. It turned out to be blood and there happened to be a Midwife in front of the house, she took me to her clinic. My feelings on that day were completely shattered, Bang. I cursed myself for not knowing the presence of our future baby" Hafsah said in a tearful cry.
"Already, Honey. Forgive the brother who asked you to tell me your memories. Forgive the brother who wasn't by your side when you were struggling in pain and sadness" Ali said.
The couple is now crying and strengthening each other. They also promise to keep what Allah has entrusted to them.
