My House of Resilience

My House of Resilience
Chapter 22. The Failed Effort

It was Sarinah who invited her daughter-in-law in to sit in the living room chair. As usual, Ari will always come when his work is off like this. It's a good opportunity to prove his determination to bring Tanti back.

"Ari, Tanti, I'm staying behind for a while." Sarinah just wanted to give the two of them space to solve the problem with a cool head.

Only the two of them remained with an incredible silence. Tanti is reluctant to talk to her husband who may soon become an ex. However, there is no harm in carving a moment of memory so that Ari never forget what has been inscribed on him.

"You're still breathing, Mum?" ask Tanti.

"You think I'm dead, don't you?" ari lirih replied. He was being waged by his mother not to outperform Tanti's style of speech. He was just emotional and disappointed. So, as much as possible Ari muffle the anger that can explode at any time.

"You're alive, but your heart is dead! If you're here just to seduce me, you'd better go home to Marlena's place that needs you more."

Checkmate!

It feels like Ari's body is paralyzed. He was wrong. He also had to fix all these situations. Ari did not bring any hand, but he came with a bag of money to be used to redeem his house that had been confiscated by the loan shark.

Ari took the money out of her bag. He put the money on the table.

"My parents asked us to immediately redeem the house before the loan shark sold it to someone else."

It feels so lazy. In fact, he begged the loan shark to sell the house to someone else. A house full of bitterness lives for him, which can never provide shade, nor tranquility. Just a house that inflicts a barrage of heart wounds without being healed.

"Reduce it, Mom!" tanti's orders.

Ari smiled a second time. He thought Tanti had already agreed to return together with being agreed to redeem the house.

"Then come with me! We'll meet the loan shark."

Very confident that everything will be easy with the lure of money in his hands. She thought Tanti wasn't getting hurt. Moreover, the desire to redeem his house back did not come from his thoughts, but from others.

"Go it alone! I know your heart is still in doubt, Mom. It's best not to rush to redeem the house if you're unsure. Sweetheart in the money." Tanti passed by leaving Ari alone.

Sarinah who had just come out carried a tray filled with drinks. He saw that only Ari was in the living room.

"Where to go?" ask Sarinah. She did not see when Tanti entered her room.

"Go to his room to pick something up, Mom," Ari said. He doesn't know what his wife is doing.

Sarinah put a glass of warm tea for her son-in-law and son.

"Drink! I'll see your wife," she said.

Ari's eyes look very lost. However, Sarinah realizes that the heartache her daughter is going through is not a game, but a bitterness of life. It is not wrong that Tanti is reluctant to see or talk to her husband.

Sarinah knocks on the door of the room and enters because Tanti accidentally does not lock it.

"Why are you, Nduk?" sarinah asked when she saw Tanti sitting in front of her dresser. The room he occupied before marrying Ari until walking closer to 6 years of marriage.

"He brought money to redeem our house, but I refused, ma'am."

The deg!

Sarinah. He did not understand his daughter's mind.

"Why? Is he trying less?" Sarinah lowered her voice.

Sarinah took a deep breath and then exhaled.

"Sir, think again. This opportunity will not repeat itself. Don't waste this good opportunity" his mother asked.

"Make what, Mom? He also must not have changed. Did he also say that he was divorced from his young wife? No, right? Tanti does not want. Let the money go back to his mother. No need for a change!"

Long to be his mother. Just this time Sarinah saw Tanti's rigid attitude as she was today. This is not his loving, gentle, and forgiving nature. Sarinah didn't even see the old Tanti.

"Yes already. Then let me talk to her."

Sarinah returned to the living room. Ari was still sitting there like a man waiting for a job interview. He sat quietly.

"Diminum first," Sarinah's plea.

Ari took one glass of warm tea that had reduced the temperature to be cooler. It also could not cool his heart. The tea was about half a glass. The glass was returned to its original place.

"Ari, on behalf of Tanti, I'm sorry. It's not that he doesn't want you to redeem the house, but that Tanti wants, you made up for it on your own initiative, not from your parents. Besides, all of us here don't know if your marriage is still going on or not? Honestly, I am very disappointed in you. So, no matter what effort you put in this time, he won't accept it. You better go home. Think of the solution."

Gluey!

Should Ari be angry? He struggled to get this money to realize his parents' desire to reject the divorce. He himself was still on good terms with Marlena, his wife. In addition to the support of her parents, Marlena still supports Ari never divorced from Tanti.

"Mom, before I leave, can I see Tanti for a second?" Ari pleaded with pity.

"Wait a minute. I'll call you."

Sarinah is actually also dizzy with the condition of Tanti's household. Ari had already struggled to bring things back, but Tanti herself was willing to retreat.

I don't know what to do with you, Nduk? Forcing to come back with this condition, Mother also did not have the heart.

"Sir, out!" call mother.

Tanti who was originally lazy to meet, had to get out. She was sure that her husband would ask her permission to go home. That's why his mother called.

"Your husband wants to go home. Meet him! If you have an uneg-uneg to say, just say it. Don't you be a snitch yourself."

Tanti immediately met him. Not because of kangen, but because she was sick of seeing the face of her husband who seemed innocent at all. Moreover, all the efforts made were not purely from within his own heart to improve things, but the encouragement of the other party.

"Dec, Mas wants to go home," he said.

I felt like I wanted to vomit to hear what he said as if nothing had ever happened.

"Just go home. Why am I the same?" said Tanti ketus.

"Daddy, I'm sorry. I'll try to fix everything, but I beg you not to proceed with our divorce to court" he said.

"Already done. Same with your mistakes, right?" tuding Tanti's.

"Daddy, think again. I'll go home first. If I'm off work, I'll come back here."

Tanti doesn't care anymore. Her husband had come out of the living room was not delivered by her. While Ari himself felt his efforts failed to achieve his goals.
