My House of Resilience

My House of Resilience
Chapters 13. Open the Effort

I tried to forget whatever happened to him. Once upon a time Tanti cried over her bastard husband while in the room.

"You're bad, Mum! You've let me live alone. You always add to my suffering, Mom! I hate you. I hate!" Tanti's voice was hoarse along with the swift tears of suffering her husband gave her. Tanti tried hard in front of her two children, but not on her own.

After not getting a living at all from her husband, Tanti had heard rumors from neighbors about her husband. Painful and heartbreaking gossip.

"Eh, do you know that Ari is married again?"

"Huh, really? Cook, anyway? Is Ari the same as his wife? That's a good woman. Why would he betray his wife's trust?"

"Eitherway! It is also called the test of life. But Ari was actually a success. It's just that she's been cut off by a beautiful woman until she gets married."

Pain hears everything. Rice has become porridge. There's nothing to be sorry about anymore. For him right now the most important thing was his two adopted children. They still need Tanti as their mother.

Just staying quiet without producing anything causes Tanti to get dizzy. He must immediately decide to open a small business that can make money. Armed with his experience of cooking, Tanti tried to open a business selling. He prepared everything with his two adopted children.

"Mom sure you're going to sell fried noodles?" ask Indra.

Both of his adopted children already know about the things experienced by his mother. As good children, they obviously cared more about her adoptive mother who remained responsible to her.

"Yes, Son. Bismillah. Let's just try, yeah." He tried to convince his children.

Tanti spent the money that was left a little. As long as it is enough to buy noodles, vegetables, and eggs. Do not forget to buy salt and some other kitchen spices that are used to support his business.

Both of his sons helped Tanti. They prepare simple tables and cookware needed when processing fried noodles. Not only that, even simple condiments are prepared. The mediocre capital makes Tanti desperate to sell potluck. Not fried noodles with chicken suwir as in general. Just a simple fried noodle with sliced omelet on top.

The first day of selling just wanted to cry. Only serve one plate. For people in general, fried noodles offered look unattractive when the food competition out there vying to provide good food at low prices.

"Sir, the menu is just this?" ask a buyer who happened to stop by to try.

"Yes, Mommy."

"How much?"

"6000, Ma'am. If you want to add an omelet, add 3000."

"Yes, pack one yes, Ma'am! Pack an omelet!"

Very painstakingly Tanti prepared her homemade fried noodles. After wrapping then receiving the payment money, the buyer left. Tanti felt grateful that there was at least some sustenance today. Waiting until late turned out to only get the sustenance of one plate. Tonight his entire family ate the fried noodles left over from his wares.

"Mom, it's still quiet, huh?" ask Indra.

"Yes, Son. Tonight is just one. But, don't you be sad. The rest of us can eat together, can't we?" Tanti's face showed a positive smile. Although it felt painful, but he could not show this to his two children.

"If it continues like this, will you not lose?" ask Firmly. He was obviously worried about his mother.

The two adopted children ate the fried noodles with an erratic feeling. Her tireless foster mother's struggle keeps them afloat.

Teguh and Indra are used to eating fried noodles with rice. So, no problem for them. The problem is, the fried noodles they eat are still a lot of the rest of the sale of his mother.

The next day, Tanti never gave up. He tried selling again. It was also ridiculed by neighbors because the menu of fried noodles is very simple. Not only mocking his food menu, but also humbling himself because Ari left it.

"Bak, how do you sell kayak noodles? There's a lot better out there than having Ma'am."

Tanti smile. "No problem, Ma'am. The sustenance is already in order."

"Depend on sustenance without wanting to follow the wishes of the market is suicide, Ma'am. Mommy's business could be bankrupt."

"Don't! Have pity, Sister Tanti. She was left behind by her husband to marry again. Anyway, Madam Tanti used to be really good. Anything from Ari. Now it's his turn to leave, just feel it?"

"Yes, it should be Aunt Tanti's self-introspection. Why did Ari leave Mbak? It's probably because Aunt Tanti is dull and less attractive!"

It's very sad. When he struggled to build his business as much as possible, in fact he was broken before struggling. In addition, her heart was made more broken than having to lose her husband.

The second day is better than yesterday. Today the sale of fried noodles has increased by another portion. So, the total for today has already sold two servings.

"Alhamdulillah." It did not stop Tanti from giving thanks. At least Allah has provided more sustenance than yesterday.

This second night, Teguh and Indra observe the changes in the behavior of her adoptive mother. A little different than usual.

"Mother looks happy today" said Teguh.

"Yes, Son. You know that today our sales have sold two servings. Tomorrow it could be three servings."

"Alhamdulillah" said his two children at the same time.

"Mother's right. Maybe this is God's way for our family yes, ma'am," said Indra.

"You don't have a problem living with Mom?"

Steady and Indra looked at each other. When they first came to this house, everything was easy. However, the more here, the family is falling apart since the husband of his adoptive mother is not responsible to them. So Tanti was forced to work hard alone to support their needs.

"No, Ma. We thank you for being noticed like this. We promise to learn truly so that we can repay all the kindness of Mother" said Indra.

Every good that is given to others, will get good too. Even if there are bad people, it is only a little spice from the hustle and bustle of world life.

Just like Tanti. He sincerely to send his two adopted children, giving a decent life even though his life is still in trouble. But, he believes one thing that this effort will succeed in the future. The point is, Tanti can't give up. He should try his best and stay excited. After this he hoped his efforts would succeed. But not for tomorrow. What a surprise he will receive.
