Made Crazy (Not Sane) By My Husband
Increasingly Severe Economic Demands

Meanwhile, Aminah's grandmother who had to walk as far as 300 meters went – home, to and from Sumber Sari puskesmas finally arrived at her hut. With the condition of fatigue because it has walked far in the midst of very hot weather conditions and poor health that day, the, he then put half a sack of rice that he bought from Bu Homsiah which he carried by carrying a tub carrying a small child on his back on the front porch of his house.

Grandma Aminah was seen sitting in the porch of her hut for a moment, sighing and fanning her face using her hands to expel the sultry feeling before entering her hut.

A few moments later he was seen moving from his seat and opened the door of the hut and took with him half a sack of rice that he bought on the way home to the hut.

After being in the hut, then he opened the sack and prepared to rework the rice that was in it to be eaten.

Grandma Aminah was forced to cook rice to eat together with her two grandchildren because she had run out of money to buy rice whose price in shops and stalls had now reached Rp. 9.000/kilograms.

He had to replace rice with rice aking because the price is cheaper than the price of rice per kilogram. Even the grandmother of Aminah has been in arrears for the past 2 months because the money is not enough.

The income of Aminah's grandmother from scavenging is increasingly reduced due to several factors. In addition to health factors, the decrease in the amount of waste he was able to collect occurred due to uncertain weather conditions.

This morning looks bright, when the day has gone up in the afternoon it can suddenly rain heavily. Or it's sunny today and suddenly it's raining tomorrow. In recent days there have been erratic weather changes in the village that made the scavenging results reduced.

Therefore, the grandmother of Aminah at this time must really tighten the plate again tightly in order to survive.

In addition, Aminah's grandmother also felt that she could no longer scavenge because her body was currently getting weaker due to the effects of the age and weather factors earlier. Therefore, the, he hopes that the 10 kilograms of rice he bought from Bu Homsiah can be used for the next 1 week and hopes that his health will recover as usual so that it can be restored as well ordinarily.

If he still forced to buy rice that was expensive, the price, so automatically the grandmother of Aminah and her two grandchildren can not eat anything in the following days because no one is looking for money because he is sick and can not go scavenging like usual.

It is seen that Aminah's grandmother took a liter of rice from the sack and then cooked it. At that time the time has shown at 12:30 Wib, it means that Tegar and Aisyah will soon be home from school.

About 1 hour later a faint sound was heard coming from the front of the hut, the sound was none other than the voice of Tegar and Aisyah who had just returned from school was about to enter the hut.

“Assalamualikum.” said Aisyah gave a loud greeting.

“Assalamualaikum.” says Hardcore anyway.

The grandmother, who was in the kitchen, had just finished cooking rice and burning salted fish for her side dishes, immediately answered their greetings,

“Waalaikum salam.” said the grandmother sounded weak.

After opening their shoes in front of the door and entering the hut, Tegar was seen directly into his room to change clothes while Aisyah even went straight to the grandmother who was in the kitchen. Then he said,

“Nek, Aisyah is hungry.” said Aisyah while holding her stomach that has made the sound of rumbling.

“Iya.if you are hungry just eat, son. This is grandma has prepared her lunch, but you have to change your school uniform first so as not to get dirty.” replied the grandmother.

“Pake what side dish nek?” ask Aisyah curiously.

“Pake grilled salted fish.” replied the grandmother.

“Huuaaaaaa,,,” hela Aisyah looks disappointed. Then he went to his room to change his clothes.

After finishing changing clothes both Aisyah and Tegar went straight to the kitchen and prepared for lunch together. Aisyah who was already very hungry immediately rushed to take rice in more quantities than the portion she usually ate, so that her hunger could be lost. Then the brother and grandmother were seen taking the rice after.

He put the rice into his mouth but he felt that there was something different about the taste of the rice he ate today compared to the rice he used to eat in the previous days.

Feeling that the taste of rice was strange and different from the taste of rice that he usually ate, he then asked the grandmother.

“Nek, the taste of rice is strange?” ask Aisyah.

“Nasinya ko not as good as usual.” replied Aisyah protest.

It seems that the oddity was also felt by the brother, namely Tegar, who then also asked

the grandmother.

“Iya nih nek, the color is also not white like the usual rice grandma cook?” tanya Tegar added.

Then the grandmother answered her grandchildren's questions.

“However the shape and taste of rice are important today we can still eat rice right nak.” replied the grandmother trying to explain.

“But Aisyah does not like to eat it.” said Aisyah complaining.

“It doesn't feel good.” he added.

“Yes, it doesn't taste good. What is rice nek?” tanya Rigid.

“This rice is cooked not from rice nak, but from the rest of the rice that is dried or commonly called rice aking.” he replied explaining.

Then he resumed his words:

“Starting today you have to get used to eating rice with a taste like this.”, said the grandmother advised.

“But why nek?” tanya Aisyah did not seem to accept the decision of the grandmother.

“Dear dear, the price of rice is now expensive. Grandma's money is just enough to buy rice like this. Do you want to eat rice that is white and delicious as before but can not eat for the next days?” ask the grandmother while looking cool.

“More grandmothers today seem unable to scavenge because grandma is not feeling well, so we are threatened not to have money to survive the next day.” he added.

Hearing this, Tegar and Aisyah just fell silent. They realized that the grandmother did not have enough money to buy rice with good quality.

Moreover, now he can not be scavenged together again because of his declining health condition.

Standing up, he began to tremble especially if he had to go a long way to scavenge, only he still forced cooking in the kitchen to prepare food for his two grandchildren.

After that Aisyah seemed to immediately put the plate containing rice and grilled salted fish down, without spending it first so that the grandmother asked:

“Aisyah, why is the food not spent nak?” ask the grandmother.

“Aisyah is full nek.” said Aisyah looks cold.

Of course Aisyah wasn't really full. He only said that he was full so that the grandmother would not worry about him. Though his stomach is still not fully filled but because he does not like the taste of his strange rice and makes his appetite is not there, so he decided not to spend it.

In contrast to Aisyah, the older brother is Tegar, although initially less like the taste of rice aking but over time he was not too concerned about it.

He looks greedily eating bribes for the sake of aking rice bribe with additional side dishes in the form of grilled salted fish into his mouth.

“Ya already if Aisyah already feel full immediately ready to go mulung same brother yak. Grandma today can not join you scavenging because it is not feeling well.” said the grandmother explained again the reason not to join the scavenging that day.
