Made Crazy (Not Sane) By My Husband
Episode 5 - Grandma Aminah Suffers from Serious Illness

The next day when Aminah's grandmother had just woken up, she suddenly felt unwell. His body feels hot fever accompanied by coughing up phlegm and shortness of breath. Maybe it was because he was rained when he came home from scavenging yesterday.

Actually, Aminah's grandmother had from a long time had a similar complaint only this time the complaint she felt was so heavy because it was accompanied by symptoms of fever that made her body become very weak. But he still tried to get up from his bed to prepare breakfast for his two grandchildren even though his body condition was sick.

After being in the kitchen he then gets ready to start cooking rice. But it turns out that the rice supply they have is almost exhausted, only enough rice left for one meal only. That means he must immediately buy more rice whose price in the stalls now reaches Rp. 9,000 per kilogram. He then poured all the remaining rice into a pot to clean it.

After being cleaned and irrigated, he also put a pot that has been filled with rice and water on the hawu (fireplace from clay). Then he put a few pieces of wood as fuel into the fireplace and began to light the fire using matches. The cooking process of rice began.

After he finished cooking rice, he continued his activities in the kitchen by cooking side dishes. Today the side dishes available in his kitchen are only salted fish. Thus the grandmothers of Aminah, Tegar and Aisyah this time again have enough breakfast with white rice and salted fish only.  Not as usual today Tegar and Aisyah had woken up before the grandmother woke her up.

They then immediately approached the grandmother who had just finished cooking it, and,

“Nek we are up.” Excite Aisyah.

“Ayo, here we eat son.,, Ohooooo,, ohoooooo, ohoooooo.” said the grandmother while sounding coughing.

“Nek, grandma is sick?” ask me, look worried.

“Not Hardcore, grandma is fine. Oho...ohooooo, ohoooooo.” kilahnya try to calm the grandson who looks panicked.

“But ko coughs on.” says Aisyah.

“Granny's throat is a little itchy, probably due to lack of drinking water. Later also better son.” replied the grandmother trying to calm her two grandchildren.

“Come, sit down and eat immediately.” orders the grandmother.

They also eat the food that has been served with greed even though they eat this time only limited to white rice and salted fish. After finishing breakfast, Tegar and Aisyah say goodbye to the grandmother to go to school on a sunny day.

After the two grandchildren left for school, he immediately rushed out of the hut to seek treatment to Sumber Sari puskesmas which was quite far from where he lived.

Armed with a certificate of not being able to get from the village that he got from the local RT chairman some time ago, Aminah's grandmother decided to go for free treatment to the puskemas. He felt that his pain this time was different from his usual. He did not want to bother his two grandchildren when the pain got worse because he did not immediately go to the health center. Because if he falls ill automatically Tegar and Aisyah will be the backbone of those who have to find money by scavenging to meet the needs of daily life.

Grandma Aminah went to Sumber Sari puskesmas on foot. This was done by him because he did not have the money to ride a motorcycle or public transportation available. Sumber Sari Puskesmas is near the city 700 meters from the Cikapundung bus terminal and 300 meters from where he lives.

Sumber Sari itself is the name of a sub-district area that is still present in one district, namely Garut district, the same as Cisurup sub-district. In the area there are already many shops and housing residents. There is also a pharmacy, ATM machine, super market that has been available in the area.

Meanwhile, the health facilities in the region only have a puskesmas. The only hospital nearest to the area is Cisurup hospital which is 900 metres from the site, 200 Meters from the Cikapundung bus terminal and 1,200 meters from the residence of the aminah grandmother who was in the village of Cijambu.

Arriving at Sumber Sari puskesmas he then handed out a KTP of his and a certificate of not being able to go from the village to the local puskesmas officer in order to get treatment for free.

After being recorded by the puskesmas officer, he was then given a queue number. Aminah's grandmother had to wait in line for a while before her name was called, and that morning she got the number 11.

While he was sitting waiting for his number to be called, suddenly a mother asked him. The mother was named Zubaidah's mother was about 38 years old at the same time wanted to treat at the puskesmas and she got the number 10 queue.

“Sick what nek?” ask Ms. Zubaidah who came to the place using a veil and a frilly Muslim dress typical of study mothers.

“This son, grandma coughing up phlegm continues. Ohooo,, ohooo..ohooo.” replied Grandma Aminahall heard coughing.

“Granny where is the house?” tanyakanya.

“Grandmother's house in Cijambu village. Oho...ohooooo..ohoooo.” the answer is still heard coughing.

“Cijambu Village, far away too huh nek. Same grandma who came here?” tanya Bu Zubaidah was curious.

“Only.” the answer is short.

“What's wrong?” tanyanya was curious again.

“Streetings.” say grandmother Aminah.

“Yes geez, grandma still strong walk that far. From Cijambu village to here it is far away. Why not take the ojek?” tanya Bu Zubaidah was astonished as if he could not believe that the distance was covered by Aminah's grandmother on foot.

“Grandmother has no money to pay onkos ojeknya.” replied grandma Aminah slowly.

“Keep home later granny will walk again?” ask Zubaidah to come back.

“Iya, walk again.” the answer is resigned.

Hearing this, Zubaidah's mother felt sorry for Aminah's grandmother so she took money out of her wallet and gave Aminah's grandmother Rp. 20,000 for the cost of riding a motorcycle taxi when returning home later.

“Nek, this is for grandma so that later the right grandmother came home from here can ride ojek to the house no longer walk.” said Zubaidah's mother while giving a sheet of money of Rp. 20,000 to the grandmother of Aminah.

Suddenly called the next queue number is queue number 10 which turns out to be the queue number belonging to Bu Zubaidah. But then he exchanged his queue number with a queue number belonging to the grandmother of Aminah so that the grandmother of Aminah could be examined first because he felt sorry for the condition of the grandmother of Aminah at that time.

“Nek,,, use this queue number only, let me use the queue number that has a grandmother. So grandma can be checked immediately.” said the kind mother Zubaidah.

“Thank you very much nak.” said grandma Aminah again thank you.

By using the queue number owned by Ms. Zubaidah, Aminah's grandmother can go directly to the doctor's office to immediately get service. When he arrived in the Doctor's room, he was immediately greeted by a female Doctor named Doctor Ratna.

The general practitioner, who was still young in his 25s, immediately invited Aminah's grandmother to sit in a chair that had been provided shortly after Aminah's grandmother entered the room.

“Good morning grandma, please sit.” he said please.

So Aminah's grandmother sat down, and the Doctor asked,

“What's the complaint nek?” ask him kindly.

“Grandmothers fever and weakness, continue to often shortness of breath accompanied by coughing up phlegm that sounds hard. Ohoo....ohooooo.ohooooo.” replied grandmother Aminah explained her complaint to the Doctor while sounding coughing again.

“When did grandma feel the complaint?” ask the doctor.

“Actually complaints like this have been from a long time grandmother felt, just grandma just this time just checked it.” said grandmother Aminah.

“Alright then, now my grandmother check first yak. Please lie there nek.” orders the Doctor while showing the usual lying place used by his patients while being examined.

Aminah's grandmother then got up from her seat and walked towards the patient's bed. He then lay there and began to be examined. The doctor, carrying a small flashlight and a stethoscope hanging around his neck, began examining Aminah's grandmother.

“Open his mouth nek.” the doctor's orders are directly carried out by Aminah's grandmother.

“Then please take a deep breath, hold it, throw it slowly.” said the Doctor instructed.

“Iya,,ayo repeat again, pull, hold, throw away.”

“Again..pull, hold, discard. again, pull, hold, waste.” He instructed the same thing to the grandmother of Aminah several times.

“Oke nek enough. Now grandma can get up from this place and sit back in the chair.”.

Then Aminah's grandmother got up from the bed of the patient and again sat in the chair she had been sitting in.He heard the Doctor say to the grandmother of Aminah, Aminah,

“After I examined grandma, it turns out that grandmother's lungs are in a bad condition. It sounded earlier when I checked using this tool, (the doctor said while showing a stethoscope to Grandma Aminah) seemed to have difficulty breathing. Well that is because in the lungs of the grandmother a lot of mucus so that the grandmother often coughs with phlegm or in other words the grandmother suffers from symptoms of pulmonary TB disease. To make sure we have to take a sample of grandma's phlegm to be examined in the laboratory first.” said the doctor at length explained.

The doctor continued his words, again,

“For now I give grandma medicine to drink for one week. If for one week after taking this medicine the health of the grandmother does not improve, the grandmother came back here again to be examined further. Here I give the drug along with the prescription.” he said.

“Does granny's disease recover quickly if you take this medicine nak?” ask grandma Aminah.

“If you want to recover grandma must continue to take drugs like this do not be late for approximately 9 months. But I love the medicine is only enough for one week first because we will see the development first.” replied the Doctor berkilah.

Given several packs of different types of drugs and the recipe is complete with the receipt of the price by the Doctor to the grandmother of Aminah. It is clearly stated in the receipt that the total price of the overall cost for treatment and medicine is Rp. 200,000 with ricnian Rp. 50,000 for Doctor consultation fee and Rp. 150,000 for medical expenses. Nominal which is fairly expensive for the size of Aminah's grandmother of course. But this time Aminah's grandmother can seek treatment for free without having to spend the slightest cost.

Then Aminah's grandmother asked the Doctor,

“If only after a week still not meningan but grandma can not come here again to

medicate, can grandma tell people to come here to get the drugs?” tanyakanya.

“Sorry Grandma, the terms are not like that. This health assistance is given if the patient himself comes, so it cannot be represented as such.” replied the Doctor.

“Indeed why grandma?” the doctor immediately asked back.

“No boy,,, no, no why-napa.” replied Grandma Aminah seemed reluctant to tell the reason why she asked like that.

“Pardon me, Grandma, it's the rule. If grandma does not come here alone, grandma must buy her own medicines according to the recipe using personal money.” he said.

“Indeed where can grandma buy more medicine?” tanyakanya.

“If it's up grandma can buy it again in a pharmacy not far from this puskesmas with reference to the attached prescription.” replied the Doctor.

“Alright Grandma, Do not be late to eat and late to take the medicine yak nek, Continues grandmother must rest enough do not be too tired for this week. And one more grandmother must keep the items that have been used by the grandmother such as glasses, dinner plates etc., etc, not used by other members of the grandmother's family to avoid transmission of pulmonary TB disease that I was diagnosed with is currently suffered by the grandmother.  Hopefully it will heal quickly nek.” said the Doctor prayed.

“Thank you son.” said grandma Aminah while rushing to leave the doctor's room.
