"Yes." Miss Mirna replied briefly.
The old woman tried to withstand the turmoil in the chest when saying the word 'iya' to Siska.
"Alhamdulillah. I'm so grateful to see you reconcile. Now let's go in. We're getting ready for work." take Doni.
The man walked up to pick up the materials in the car. While Miss Mirna and Siska were still silent and looked at each other. Then Siska approached Doni to help him. Mirna approached them and helped her.
The three of them worked together on their tasks. There was a sense of awkwardness, when Siska helped Bu Mirna stare at the seasoning. The two fell silent while occasionally stealing glances at each other.
Now it's all done, and Doni starts opening the door to his rolling door. Shortly after opening, two buyers arrived. Then a few minutes later there were more visitors. Minutes change hours, visitors to Doni's shop are increasing in number.
"Mom, please make two lemon tea ice and avocado juice one yes." pinta Doni.
Miss Mirna nodded and followed her boss's orders. Siska was preparing her food.
Shortly after, Ms. Mirna finished making the drink and brought it forward. He saw Doni delivering a buyer's order. And there's only Siska who's plating food. Finally, Miss Mirna asked Siska.
"Where's this put?"
Siska turned her head and stared for a moment at what Mirna had brought.
"Just put it here first, ma'am. Soon also want to be delivered with Doni mas, along with the food."
Not much to say, Ms. Mirna put her drink near the food. After that, Ms. Mirna went to the kitchen to wash the dishes and the glasses that had already piled up in the laundry bucket.
Throughout the working hours, Siska and Bu Mirna continued to show her awkward attitude. Until the end of working hours, the two continued to behave like that.
Doni saw it too, but just let it go. Because it is common for people who have not met for a long time. Both of them have been involved in serious problems. Hopefully, over time the two can relate well.
Doni is closing the rolling door. Then he looked at Mirna.
"Mom, this is fried chicken leftover. I'll bring it for the side dishes later at home huh." Doni handed the parcel to Miss Mirna.
"Not bother, son. Just allowed to work here, I'm so grateful."
"Yes, but this is please take. The sustenance cannot be refused." Said Doni again.
Miss Mirna glanced at Siska whose hand carried nothing. Unlike him who got a crispy chicken these two days.
Doni did it on purpose, because he saw the thin body of Ms. Mirna. The young man guessed, it must be that Miss Mirna was having trouble just eating.
"Why doesn't he give you all, son?" finally the question slid from Bu Mirna's mouth, while staring for a moment at Siska.
While working with Doni, Siska rarely brought crispy chicken home. Because it's over first.
But he was often invited to stop by eating after shopping for shop needs. Even that almost every day.
"Oh yeah, let's get you home?"
"No need, son. Thank ye. Then excuse me first. Assalamu'alaikum."
"Wa'alaikumussalam, be careful on the road, ma'am." said Doni.
"Let's go home, Sis." said Doni after Ms. Mirna walked a little away from them.
"Mas, I think I'm walking. Miss Mirna's on foot, too."
"He is his home opposite to ours. I offered to help, but she refused."
"But I'm not good with him, mas. I'm afraid he's thinking bad things about me. You know for yourself from our mouths how bad I was in the past."
"Siska, how many times have I told you. I don't care how your past is. Because I. I..."
"Why does it sound like that?" Siska looked at Doni while frowning. Making the young man in front of him more nervous.
I don't know why to just say love, it's hard to ask for forgiveness.
"Em, don't you have any feelings for me?" Doni asked Siska.
"Feelings?" repeat Siska, and Doni nodded.
"A feeling of gratitude, for having a boss as good as you are." Siska reflects on the smile.
"That's all?"
"Yes, why?"
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Daughter? repeat Siska and then chuckle.
"I don't want to have a boyfriend or even a husband. I'm so grateful and happy with my life now."
"If there's a man who loves you and invites you to marry, what are you going to do, Sis?"
