Why marry me, Gus?

Why marry me, Gus?
chapter 37

Arin and Yanto were still standing across the river in a state of turmoil. Yanto could not have let Arin deliver the drugs alone to Moyudan village. But Yanto himself was also unable to continue the journey.

"Mbak, you ...."

"Trust me, Mom! I will keep this trust well" said Arin confident.

"But what do you want to wear? There are no boats anymore. How do you want to go to Moyudan village now?" tanya Yanto worries about Arin who is still determined to continue the journey without him.

"I can swim, Mas. The river is not too deep either, is it? I will still try to cross this river. I'm sure I can!" arin tries to convince Yanto.

After a long discussion, Yanto finally handed over his luggage to Arin. "Be careful on the road, ma'am! I'm sorry I couldn't make it to Moyudan village" Yanto said.

"No problem, Mom. Be careful to go back to the village."

Arin and Yanto separated on the way. Arin goes on a solo journey to the village of Moyudan, while Yanto decides to return to the village of Tubansari. By bringing medicine and logistics from Yanto, Arin is determined to cross the river on his own.

"Come, Arin! You can do it!" cetus Arin cheers himself on.

Arin slowly got into the water and walked across the river. The woman placed her luggage on her head so as not to be exposed to water, while Arin tried to walk across the river with the height of water reaching to the extent of her stomach.

Fortunately Arin has a good physical ability, because during school the woman was able to follow extracurricular sports, especially volleyball and swimming. Armed with the physical abilities he has, Arin is determined to conquer the river.

However, of course Arin's struggle is not easy. Moreover, the woman crossed the river without using a boat.

Arin continued to get exposed to water and the stone footing on the riverbed sometimes made him almost slip. The coldness of the water made Arin start to shiver. He also felt the river was getting wider and made it not come to the edge of the river.

"Why did he arrive so long? Why does it feel so far away?" groused Arin with pale lips held back the coldness of the water.

Even so, Arin still survives to cross the river and secure his luggage overhead. Fortunately the medicine and logistics he brought were waterproof. But Arin still tried his best to protect the goods so as not to get wet exposed to water.

The longer, Arin's body is increasingly unable to withstand the swiftness of the water. The woman was almost desperate in the middle of her journey to the riverbank. "Mas Huda!" call Arin to despair.

"Mas Huda, where are you?" yelled Arin again. The woman repeatedly called out her husband's name in the middle of the river.

"Mas Huda, I came here for you, Mas!"

"Mas Huda, help me!" Arin started crying. The woman could no longer cross the river.

"Please! Helpme! I don't want to die here! Mas Huda, help me! Please pick me up!"

Arin lost hope. "Mas Huda! You promised me you'd take me on my honeymoon when you got back, right? But where? You just told me and made me worry!"

"I came here to pick you up! I came here to make your promise! We haven't even had a honeymoon yet! I haven't even got your first night either!" Arin rambled with a cry as he pleased.

"I can't do it anymore. Maybe I'll die now. Maybe I'll die without being able to do the first night! I will die a virgin! And it's all your fault because you didn't make a promise! Please keep your promise, Mas!"

Arin's legs suddenly go limp. Maybe today will really be Arin's last day in the world.

"I want to see you before I die, Mom! I want to get the first night out of you before I die!" arin exclaimed with tears that had washed his face. "I don't want to be a virgin to death!" arin whine.

Arin closed his eyes. The woman was not sure she could make it to the end of the river. "I'm giving up, Mom! I don't think I can pick you up!"

Arin has resigned. If indeed his age only reached here, the woman was already sincere. If Arin can't feel the first night to die, Arin is ready.

"Goodbye, Mom!"

Right after Arin said the last parting word, suddenly the woman heard the voice of someone around the river. Arin opened his eyes and tried to find the source of the sound.

"Hey! You all right?" A boat drove towards Arin just before the woman fell. The boat was filled by one of Huda's friends, Ilmi. Together with two other volunteers, Ilmi toured to look for victims around the river.

"Is that Mas Huda?" muttered Arin with wide rounded eyes.

It seemed like Arin's thoughts regarding the last day wouldn't really happen. With the arrival of Ilmi, Arin can definitely be saved.

The boat approached and showed Ilmi's face clearly. Instead of seeing an expression of pity, Arin actually saw Ilmi who laughed amusedly in front of Arin. It turns out that Ilmi hears all of Arin's screams, including Arin's rant about the first night.

"Well, are you laughing? Here help!" arin's nagging at Ilmi.

"Yes, who wouldn't laugh? What do you say try in the middle of the river kayak gini? Your beloved Huda will not be horrified. You can talk directly to the same person later," said Ilmi teasing Arin.

Arin's face immediately turned red after hearing Ilmi's words. She really did not expect that her husband's friend heard all his chatter. Arin looks embarrassed. Why should she meet her husband's friend?

However, Arin was very grateful. The presence of Ilmi, makes the woman safe from death.
