Why marry me, Gus?
chapter 1

Chapter 1

"Congraduation!" Today is the most joyous day for all third grade High School students in the country. Today is graduation announcement day for high school.

Yep! I was one of the third graders who was declared graduated on this day. After receiving the results of the exam, I immediately went to the graduation convoy conducted by the students in my school.

My uniform is already full of doodles as a graduation celebration. The streets in the city where I live are also crowded with students who are euphoric welcoming graduation.

Today is truly a special day. Soon I will enter the adult world. In a moment, I'll be wading through the real world.

"No, Arin? You finally graduated!" I muttered to myself.

Everyone must have gone through this time, right? There is pride in each of us, after we have successfully completed education. I have been in school for over twelve years.

"Wheel? You want to go straight home?" wirda asked after me and my friends finished following the convoy.

"Yes, here! It's afternoon! I'm going home first, okay?" my pamit to Wirda and also my other friends.

Although it was a bit sad, soon I will be separated from my friends and comfortable in school, but I can't wait to welcome my youth as an eighteen-year-old adult.

"I'll change clothes first! I could be scolded by Mom if I go home wearing clothes that have been scratched like this," I muttered immediately changed clothes and rushed home.

I also started my journey back home relaxed. My mood is great today too. There is no harm if I take a short walk while looking for fresh air.

Shortly after, I arrived home and was shocked by the boisterous atmosphere in the residence of my parents. I think there are guests again.

I go in through the back door. Unfortunately, I was caught by my mother first.

"Wheel! You finally came home!" my mother said as she pulled me somewhere.

"Where am I going, Mom?"

"Here come!"

My mother took me to the living room. Why did my mother take me to the guests? I don't know who the guests are. Couldn't that be a guest for me?

As soon as I appeared in the living room, I observed several people sitting together with my father. I don't know any of the guests who are coming now. They are not relatives either. Are they friends of the same father's mother?

"This is Arin, Ustadz!" my mother said to a middle-aged man called ustadz.

Who the hell are they? This father turned out to be Mr Ustadz? Why did you and Mom bring ustadz here? I am not in school. Where could I possibly want to go to the pesantren? Or maybe I want to be told to rukyah?

My head began to fill with all sorts of questions regarding the purpose and purpose of the guests present in my parents' current home.

"Oh, is this what Arin is called? It's gorgeous!" praise a middle-aged woman with a big hijab.

Maybe the mothers are ustadz's wives? In addition to having Mr. Ustadz with the big hijab mothers, my eyes were also fixed on a young man sitting in the midst of the guests. Maybe it was his son?

"Arin, say hello to Ustadz Wahab with Nyai Rosyidah!" my mother's orders to me.

There's no way I'm turning my mother down in front of the guests. I threw a smile at all the guests and said hello.

"Arin, whose name is Huda. Hurry up and greet him!" my mother said while pointing at the young man who had made me curious since.

"Arin, this is our son. His name is Huda" said Nyai Rosyidah to introduce his son to Arin.

I'm getting confused about all this. What event is this, anyway? Why am I suddenly recognized by so many people?

"Assalamualaikum, Arin!" greet Huda to me.

Although still confused, but I still answered the greeting from the man named Huda politely. "Wa'alaikumsalam!" answer's short.

My mother asked me to sit next to her and listen to the conversations of the adults in the room. At first I still did not understand the purpose and purpose of this meeting. But gradually, I began to understand the intention of the arrival of these unfamiliar guests that I did not recognize.

"So, this is our daughter Arin, whom we told you about. Coincidentally, Arin had just graduated from school" my father told the guest.

"It is good that Nak Arin has completed his education in school" commented Ustadz Wahab.

"As I have said before, the purpose of our arrival here together with our son, we want to greet and introduce our son to the family of Mr. Agung. We came here with good intentions, and intended to propose the daughter of the Great Sir to our son, Huda."
