The Apocalyptic System

The Apocalyptic System
There's One More Day

“As you wish, Tuan”. Both robots nodded.

Kai Axe looked at the blood on his hands and clothes, then shook his head, thinking that he really needed to take a bath.

He let the two robots take care of the mess and returned to the ark. He immediately took off his bloodied clothes and jumped into the shower.

Jessica opened the door and entered suddenly.

“So...Um... Kai, you just killed both of them? “ Jessica looked at Kai Axe anxiously.

“Ya, right. Relax, Jess. The apocalypse will hit us soon, and no one will check it out, “Kai Axe assured Jessica.

He then smiled and walked over to his side, massaged his shoulder and said, “I'm worried about you. But apparently...Well, all my worries are in vain. You're really more mature and assertive than I imagined, Kai“.

He was only worried that killing those people would traumatize Kai Axe. He seems to be worried too much.

Kai Axe clapped his hands and said, “If there is one thing I have learned before, Jess, having compassion for the enemy is as cruel to yourself”.

“It's nice because you know it, though,

but...Try not to do it yourself next time. Your clothes are all dirty, and it's really a terrible waste of “. He closed his mouth while chuckling.

The sound of his little melodic laughter stirred something within him.

He turned around and measured her from top to bottom, looking at her swaying body well. He pulled her into the bath suddenly.

The action surprised him, and he shouted,

"Damn, you got me soaked, Kai!”.

“Good. Let's take a shower together, huh? “

...

The next day, Kai Axe wakes up and does his morning routine.

It was July 27th, three days into the apocalypse.

Kai Axe arranged a thorough inspection for all five ships, conducting any reinforcements to the four cargo ships and components on the ark in the past three days to improve the survival of the ship when disaster struck.

He came to the deck of the ark after breakfast, feeling that he had to strengthen the hull and deck even further.

Currently, he had 22,500 survival points at his disposal. He had originally thought of saving the points to raise the ark to level two, but he found the ark was not safe enough as the doomsday drew near.

“System, I want to upgrade ship body and deck”.

“Ding! Recognised. Upgrading the ship's body and deck into titanium alloy would require 15,000 survival points. Do you want to continue the upgrade? “

Hss!

Even though he knew that the cost for such an upgrade would definitely be very expensive, yet he still gasped when he heard the real numbers.

“Sial, System is really trying to kill me here!”

It was fortunate that his survival points had doubled, and 10,000 points were no longer too steep. He decided to continue the upgrade for better security and peace of mind.

“Continue”.

Fifteen thousand survival points were reduced as soon as he confirmed, and he was left with a balance of 7,500 points.

The body and deck become noticeably thicker, wrapped with a coating of titanium alloy on the outside. Titanium alloy is a kind of high-strength alloy with excellent yield strength and tensile strength.

The French windows on the bridge were fitted with metal shields to begin with, and, at this time, an extra layer of alloy coating was added to them.

The exposed weapon on the deck had an extra layer of protection added to it as well.

The upgrade practically includes another set of layering throughout the ark.

He was finally able to calm down with that extra layer of protection. He knew that the ark would have no problem holding up a blow and being thrown by the waves when a worldwide tsunami came.

Being a tightly sealed ship means it can survive being submerged and even travel underwater for a period of time, without the risk of being overturned by the waves.

Two days passed shortly afterwards.

It was July 29th, one day leading up to the doomsday.

Time showed at 20:00, 24 hours before the horrific event struck.

That means the asteroid will hit Earth at 8pm the next day, plunging the entire world on doomsday.

Kai Axe had done all the preparations he could think of. He was currently waiting on the fourth floor of the manor with Jessica and Veronica, seeing a newscaster reporting the news on his 100-inch television.

“Thank you for watching Global News. We are now bringing you special news. According to a report from the Keck Observatory, our space companion, the asteroid, will visit Earth at 8pm tomorrow, passing our planet.

“That would be one of the few instances where one could see an asteroid visiting our beautiful planet with the naked eye. All the astronomy enthusiasts out there, be sure to set up your equipment for the big event!

“Be sure not to miss this once in a lifetime event!

“We now bring you a valuable image taken from an asteroid, our own NASA!”

The scene was cut into beautiful images of the cosmos with an asteroid in the center, burning red and leaving a brilliant streak behind. The view looks beautiful.

However, Kai Axe understands that the asteroid is not actually their friend. It was even a demon summoned by the god of death to bring misfortune upon all of them.

The asteroid was the beginning of the doomsday disaster.

Everyone believes that the asteroid will travel in the predicted direction, passing through Earth's atmosphere and darting to the other side, thus actually passing through Earth.

The reality, however, is that the asteroid is about to crash into the Pacific Ocean.

the next “24 hours will be the last 24 hours that most humans leave behind, he said clearly.

“Yes, I guess besides us, the whole world probably won't know anything, right?” Jessica said, it's complicated because of it.

Veronica kept quiet for a while and added, “If mankind finds out about the news, mass panic and chaos will follow.

“Such chaos by itself will be a disaster”.

“Well, I don't think anyone will believe all that”, Jessica said, waving at the idea.

He thought that no one would believe them even if they told the world. Everyone would think they were crazy to spread lies and create mass panic.

Everyone would have thought the news of the coming doomsday would be as absurd as saying Godzilla would attack Earth.

Kai Axe turned around and looked at the night sky outside, which was still peaceful and calm.

He knew that it was just calm before the raging storm.

The Mauna Kea Observatory in Hawaii....

It was the most developed and advanced observatory both in the US and in the world.

Titus Leibman, an astronomy researcher, was doing his work at the observatory.

His work included examining all kinds of astronomical data - signals, waves, cosmic means, and more - every night at the observatory.

He took off his thick glasses and rubbed his eyes, then yawned.

He didn't receive anything new, which meant the night might be smooth and boring.

He then heard a beep from the computer, a sign that abnormal data was being received.

He shuddered after hearing that voice. He then focused his attention on the beep.

The data was sent from several X-ray astronomical satellites into space.

X-ray satellites are intended specifically to collect data on gravitational waves from the cosmos, allowing observatories to study changes in neutron stars, black holes, and some other celestial bodies.

He stood up and rushed over to check out the waveform that was frightening him graphically. His eyes were wide with what he had just seen.

“Yes God, what's going on here? Did a neutron star merger just explode or something? “.
