The Apocalyptic System

The Apocalyptic System
Designing Bots

What kind of super-ship is capable of surviving after the apocalypse?

Kai Axe had been thinking about this question for the past few days.

He sat down at the table at night and devised his plan for the level one ark design.

He had made himself very familiar with the conditions and layout of the ship over the past two days, as well as had learned the requirements to reach the level one ark of the System.

The ship must be designed according to the 5,000-ton class ship.

The most core requirement of the consideration he had in mind for the ark was safety.

Kai Axe started taking notes on his laptop, with three plans for the design.

The first plan was to create a spherical ship, with a layout divided into two layers. The outer layer consists of high-strength steel that is able to withstand large shocks, but the design greatly compromises mobility and will make the ship a sitting duck. He continued this design after serious consideration.

The second plan is simply to strengthen the current structure of the ship, thus allowing the ship to become more capable of sailing the sea and its mobility greatly improved, but the deck of the ship will become more vulnerable. Although the design had no problem with the tsunami, there must have been rocks, or anything large and heavy, that was swept away by the waves that hit the deck. There will be a chance of considerable damage.

He is also thinking of continuing the design.

The third plan is to make the ship fully enclosed, as was done with the Zumwalt-class destroyers, which would make the ship a self-contained ship with a sci-fi display.

The stern of the ship will tap into the bow, making the shape of the ship look like a wedge. The bridge will be installed in the middle near the back. The front deck will be long and narrow while the deck on the back is square, allowing an elevator to be installed and having enough space to accommodate the aircraft.

Its design ensures safety by being fully sealed as well as maintaining decent mobility. Long and narrow bows ensure excellent ability in tearing waves, while other relatively wide ship structures will provide adequate stability.

Even in the face of a tsunami, the ship would be able to be fully submerged in water without flooding its interior for a short time.

After he confirmed, the plan selected a third plan. He had a picture of a Zumwalt-class destroyer downloaded and sent to Worker-1.

“Use this design as the base. Ignore the design of the weaponry above and modify the plan accordingly, the emphasis is to survive the tsunami during the apocalypse “, his orders on the bot. Given that the bot has highly refined design capabilities, it can easily modify the design as per its needs.

“As your wish tuan”. Worker-1 takes only one second to display a modified vandal design after answering.

The bridge will be lowered and oval-shaped, thus making the results look more sci-fi-like.

Not only will it look more sci-fi-like, but the angled design will also serve for the practical purpose of reducing shocks from external impacts, thus maximizing survival capabilities.

Kai Axe's eyes sparkled, feeling impressed. “Not bad, friend!”

It's time to look at the other functions of the ark.

He not only thought of surviving the doomsday but also thought of living well.

He laid down the rough structure that had to be found inside the ship.

Cargo Bay: divided into food storage area, which is equipped with room temperature storage, cold storage area and freezer, and cargo area for other goods.

The emphasis is on adequate food storage, as there will be a very long time after a disaster where there will be no food found anywhere else.

Hangar: a place where vehicles such as SUVs, RVs, off-road motorcycles, aircraft such as helicopters, and large-scale manufacturing and repair facilities will be placed.

Living Room: the area will be located mainly under the bridge and connected directly to the control room, which serves as a residence and entertainment center.

Agriculture: an area where a fully self-sufficient food supply will be found on board, complete with a fruit and vegetable planting system, as well as raising livestock and poultry, and, ensure that there will be no shortage of fresh food when needed.

The five structures will essentially ensure the survival of the doomsday, making it an important part of the ship's gear.

Other structures consist of ship propulsion and power generation, as there will be considerable power requirements needed to run all other structures.

Details on how to meet the needs of electrical power, how many units of various types of generators are needed, how to design circuits, and others, will be taken care of by super robot Al.

Kai Axe just needs to explain the requirements, and the bot will design it accordingly.

He then incorporated all his requirements into the Worker-1 system.

“As you wish, tuan”, replied Worker-1.

It only took a second for the robot to display the 3D floor plan right in front of its eyes.

Every detail of the ship's electrical distribution design has been listed. The plan couldn't be better than that.

All the areas inside are designed according to specifications and are done very carefully. The interior design of the living room is simple and sci-fi-like, with functions that rival luxury homes.

There is a home theater area, indoor swimming pool, game area, and versatile gymnasium also included.

HVAC, water purification, power distribution, and other major systems to maintain those functions were also added.

No wonder the bot is claimed to have Al super. That was so incredible.

Three hundred survival points were indeed well spent.

He would have experienced a great headache if a half-baked student like him was assigned to design the ark down to every last detail, not to mention it would be very time consuming as well.

He was happy to see such a perfect blueprint of the ark was right in front of his eyes.

The next thing he needed to do was to divide the area according to plan and start the initial modification, as well as prepare all the necessary materials, so as to increase the total progress of the modification.

After that, he would only need to upgrade the ship using survival points, and he would obtain the perfect ark.

Such was the case with the game that required one to build his kingdom. As long as all the necessary structures were installed, one would be able to step into the next age by increasing good survival ability.

As long as he had sufficient material resources, he would theoretically be able to upgrade the ark indefinitely.

However, the further he made the increase, the higher his material resources requirement was. The current level one ark design was enough to meet the needs of the initial period after the doomsday.

Kai Axe was the type of person who hid and nurtured his troops while playing such a game, before sending out huge waves of power to overthrow his enemies at once. For example, when facing a nation during the feudal era, he would raise his army to the point of being able to raid an enemy before moving.

Nothing works better than hiding behind a wall and increasing your strength to the maximum!

He couldn't be careless when faced with the coming doomsday, and he was driven to be as prepared as possible.

He uploaded a 3D plan to his smartphone in order to be able to check it at all times, before sending Worker-1 outside to patrol the place and keep watch.

He lay on his bed, and the sounds of summer insects outside made him lulled to sleep.

He woke up the next morning, refreshed himself, and proceeded to confirm what he needed to improve first after breakfast.

Ship body!

He needed to upgrade the existing ship's body before he could continue his equipment.

The ship will weigh 5,500 tons, and that means she will need 5,500 tons of steel. In addition, steel cannot be just ordinary steel. It must be a high-strength low-alloy steel, or commonly known as HSLA steel.

The so-called HSLA steel has rare metals added to the relatively low-cost carbon steel, with the percentage of such rare metals at around 3%.

Such steel is harder to produce and more expensive. In return, they will have greater yield strength and resilience, with yield strength reaching above 300 megapascals. Mainstream military ships around the world all use such steel in their construction.

In addition to HSLA steel, it also requires high alloy steel to be used as a buffer, which will be used to connect the structure inside the ship body and build keel.

He searched around online, and there were more than a dozen steels that met such a need, but the cheapest option he could find cost him over 600 dollars per ton.

Buying 5,500 tons of such steel means he will need at least 3.3 million dollars.

Three million dollars!

Although he knew what the numbers were like more or less, but the actual numbers after the calculations made him jump anyway.

He only had about 33,000 dollars to spare at the moment, and he wondered where he could get the rest of the funds he needed.
