The Amazing Joni's

The Amazing Joni's
CHAPTER 8: EIGHT

A clear blue sky without clouds, a stretch of sand and heat is still a sight. The technology on the armor doesn't make me and Deni hot. In the middle of the day, we were actually very showy with clothes that were different from the locals. But no one cares about it. People are too busy with their own business. The streets are also pretty quiet.

“How much further do we walk?” I asked. I'm getting familiar with Sem.

“I don't think far, Jon. Look at the building already visible.” Deni answered.

“I've been looking forward to this.” Sem clenched his hands, excited.

“How long, Sem? You're only in the program to have that memory. Though it may be that memory was instilled in your memory a few weeks ago.” Denying, they had to talk all the way.

Shem so misbehaving, scratching her head. What Deni said was indeed true, he was only part of the game. One unfortunate thing, Sem has no memory of the two mysterious countries he mentioned.

Suddenly, the three of us arrived at the crossroad.

“You guys keep ahead, I'll catch up in five minutes. Don't follow me, if you don't want to waste time.” Not finished Sem said, he had turned to the right, running.

“Hey, what's with the boy?” Deni was astonished, raising his hand wanting to ask. But Sem has abandoned them.

“Leave it. Sem knows a lot about this area.” I kept moving forward, towards the government building.

The sand wind again blew, this time firmer. Like bringing news of the presence of three people who have just come from another world. Or, it was the wind that said welcome.

“You know that Was, Jon? I mean, at least you've heard of it, right? You usually know a lot of things.” Deni's teaching my steps.

I just shook her head, she didn't know. It's a new game, maybe even just the two of us playing it. From the cover when the officer explained in the real world, this game does not look too interesting. Only the two of us played this game? Yep. Like the explanation of the officer who accompanied them while still in the real world a moment ago. Since the launch of VG.10 V.2, no one has played this game.

“What happens if we do not know the skills we have, Jon? How will we fight corruption? Plus, that boy, Sem. He said it was a war. How can we fight in a war with only bare hands?” Deni spoke all the way.

“Sentah, Den. If we can't face them, we can log out of this game.” I answered casually.

We continued walking, until we finally arrived in front of the small gate of the government building. There's one security guard saying hello there.

“Who are you? Get out of here!”

Hearing those words, Deni and I stopped the footsteps, looking up at the gate attendant, the security guard. What was?

***

Not far from the crossroad, there is a fork. She chose to turn left. It was actually the same direction towards the government building, because from the intersection Sem had chosen to turn right. It's just that, on the street, there's a manhole leading into the underground passageway.

“Master Was will not sell oil this time. There are intruders in this country.” A big, straight-haired man was conversing with one of the well-dressed. What kind of meeting is being held under this stuffy ground? Sem eavesdropped from behind the door.

The underground passageway was wide. Three meters wide, five meters high. There are some rooms like the one on the wall. One of the rooms with lights on, that's where Sem eavesdropped, behind the door.

“How Was it, we've painstakingly come here. Passing a lot of care, be careful. Don't you have a way to sell it right now? I really need that oil.” A well-dressed person makes an offer.

“Can't, Sir. I don't want to get fired just for selling without permission.” The big man refused.

“Actually who is the intruder? How many are they? If it's only one or two, leave it to us. My men can cooperate with this royal army to attack and finish them off.” Well-dressed man lit his cigarette, he was a cigarette addict, although in fact it was very dangerous. Cigarettes and petroleum, are very contrasting things.

“According to the main gate keeper of the country. They are three people, two people look very foreign, their clothes are strange.” The big man explained.

“What does this have to do with their clothes? We can take out such bullies.” Well-dressed Lekaki took off his cigarette, threw it near his feet, stepped on it with black-emergent shoes.

Waited for a moment. The burly man was still thinking. While the well-dressed man paced back and forth. Sem could guess their movements from the footsteps. Within minutes, a communication device attached to the basement wall rang out, like a pay phone.

“Gen, you hear me? Lord Was asked you to come to the palace immediately. Emergency condition.” There was a sound at the end of the connection.

“This guy doesn't want it if I don't sell it. He is our big business partner, there is no way I left him in a state of disappointment. He can break our business chain.” Gen, the burly man answered the communication call.

“This is more dangerous than deciding to do business with him, Gen. You need to get here. When you're late, Mr. Was will punish you.” The sound has stopped. Communications cut.

Gen breathes out anxious breaths. How'this? This one well-dressed person was extremely difficult if he already had his will.

“Sorry, Sew. I can't sell that oil. I have to go.” Genes will move. Sem who heard the footsteps tried to get away, but had not had time to step too far away from the place, heard gunshots.

The door! On target. The bullet went through the heart of Gen. I'm sick of doing business with people who are too long-winded, Gen.

“What you..” haven't had time Gen asked, his body will already disappear like a broken pixel.

“The bullet I got from a store in the city of the Sea. The level is very high. I know an ordinary bullet won't be able to finish you off with a single shot. You're done, Gen.” Shem laughed, outraged. “That's due to not obeying my business ways.”

Sem immediately moved away. That's too dangerous. He won't be able to face Sew alone. Sem immediately left the hallway, following Joni and Deni. The hallway was very stuffy, minimal lighting, minimal oxygen. Plus it smells bad.

***

“We already know who you are. You guys better leave, before we forcibly evict.” One of the guards rebuked.

“What's go? It's a game, Om. We also know you're already on a program like that. Then we won't go.” Deni ventured.

While I, ever since I met Sem, have felt a huge flow of energy flowing through my body. I don't know, don't understand. What do I have to do with that power? Deni's right, this is a game. We have to complete the mission, of course the mission will not be easy. This security guard is just one of the barriers to that mission. Inside the building, I don't know on what floor. There must be a Was, the head of this country. He's a corrupt offender who's teamed up with Sew, the petroleum mafia.

Petroleum in the country is the main source of the country's finances. No other effort. Deep in the ground, under the desert. Petroleum reserves are too abundant. Mafia from another country. They bought it from the Was. Then sell it in your own country at twice the price. The profit from the sale of oil was only for the benefit of Was himself, as well as his minions. While the population, never enjoy the results of the sale of oil. The referee himself also never cared about the state of the population. He was too busy with the oil business. The residents themselves also no longer care about Was, they have their own business. International online business. That is the reason, the residents prefer many who stay, confine themselves in the house. They run the business by just sitting in front of a table, facing a tablet screen. Sometimes they just go out looking for a different atmosphere. No one knows if they are eating, sleeping, mating, even interacting with others in the country. A reasonableness, this is just a system that is already in the program. What do computer programs care about food?

“What did you call me? Don't joke.” The security guard was getting angry.

I nudged Deni's arm. Stop calling strangers Om, Den. I-i mean.

Deni doesn't care. He looks excited. This was the atmosphere he had been waiting for. A war that Sem said. Maybe this is the beginning.

“What Was inside?” I asked.

“How dare you call Mr. Was that. Not polite!” The guard was getting angry, his face was red, his eyes were wide. That's what I'm waiting for. Hey, looks like I've been following Deni, provoking the ire of the guards of this government building.

“No need manners with such thieves.” Deni replied casually.

“Beched! You guys have gone too far. Calling Mr. Was a thief. You are thieves. Steal our pleasure, disturb our tranquility.” The security guard began to shout, another guard who saw it came closer.

“We just want to sign in. What a hard thing it is to give us a way.” Deni is getting worse. He had already ruffled his waist, further provoking the fury of the security guard.

“We're already allowed.” The other guard whispered. Hearing the whisper, the angry security guard changed the look of his face to a cringe.

“Call all the security guards downstairs! We're gonna make these two assholes jera.” The security guard ordered his own friend. The other guards quickly gathered. This time with a gun. It is not known if it was a gun or a sword. Its shape is vague.

The small gate was finally opened. The other part of the fence disappeared, more precisely eliminated. Perfect is already a battle arena. The guards quickly stormed us both. It was like a crowd of angry bees. They locked us up, formed a circle. Deni and I turned their backs on each other. We understood each other, looked at each other. No need to worry, it's just a game. If we lose here, we can still use the continue facility. So mascud that look.

Our guess was wrong, at first Deni and I thought the thing they were carrying was a sword. It was actually a gun. All the guards brandished the weapon, pointing their muzzles at us. It's like a dead-end execution, a rame-rame execution. Without warning, they started shooting. Without being able to count, a barrage of weapons had already been heard from all directions. Even though we both look calm, it doesn't mean we should just give up on the bottom piece like this. There's still horses and kings back there.

I reflexively crossed both hands, forming a circular shield covering our bodies from all directions. The bullets fell right in front of us, powerless to penetrate the shield I made. They kept shooting, as if endless. Could it be an unlimited bullet? We can't stay in this game for long. If it's like that, I'll have to find another way. Wasn't this shield me who created it? It means I can use my powers.

“You can use your sword, Den?” I looked towards Deni.

“How to? I've been looking for the location from earlier.” Deni replied in a shouting voice, the noise of the bullet barrage closing our conversation inside the shield. True, Deni had tried to fumble all parts of his body, he did not find where the sword was. What's wrong?

“You just need to bring it up Den. No need to look for him. I can't hold these bullets much longer. My energy will be drained.” I screamed again.

Deni nods. He's concentrating. Staying vain. Maybe his concentration broke because the bullet kept raining incessantly. I don't have a choice. Looks like I'll have to take off this shield, let some bullets through our armor. Then attack them with empty hands. There's no other way. As I was about to lower both hands, hundreds of arrows hit the guards in front of us. Their vanguard collapsed, leaving a second, last line of security. Suddenly, the barrage of bullets trying to penetrate the shield I created was stopped.

“Sem!” I exclaimed.

“You guys okay?” Sem asked.

I nodded, but not with Deni. He looks disappointed. The sword he wanted had yet to appear.

The second roundabout line of security guards prepared to come back to shower us with bullets. Sem joined in, standing stuttering looking ahead. One arrow back he pulled out of the arrow rest, aiming in the direction of the top. Up top? That's ridiculous.

“Sem, watch your target! What the hell are you doing? I'm yelling. She only responded with a smile. So, he had thrown the arrow up, far up. After us, the security guard is still superior in number. They also have weapons that can kill from a distance. Sem who had weapons like them looked as though they were playing games. How at a time like this he threw the arrow up, towards the ceiling.

Deni had not cared since, he kept trying to bring out the sword. He wanted to fight, slashing those corruptors. Shem's smile didn't miss. The arrow he threw came back down. Not alone, but hundreds like hundreds of arrows that took out the first line of corrupt security guards. Hundreds of arrows again rained down the second row of security guards, exhausted without remaining. The bodies disappeared like broken pixels.

“You see, that's one of my abilities.” She smiled with satisfaction, she succeeded. I don't know when he had that ability. When he killed the lion, he only used one arrow. This time, that one arrow could split into hundreds.

I let out a sigh of relief. Deni has also given up. He did not manage to bring out the sword.

“Why are you, Den? Sem asked. Deni looks very upset.

Deni did not answer. He wanted to stop playing this game. The gun won't come out.

“Looks like your ability had to be forced, Den. Look, Joni's been able to make a shield. That's one of his abilities. In a moment, he would be able to pull out his mainstay punch. It's just a matter of situation, cause-and-effect, and purpose in your heart, Den.” Sem patted Deni's shoulder.

Waited for a moment. The courtyard of the government building that could also be called the palace began to feel lonely suddenly, after the battle. Behind all that, Was had prepared everything on the top floor, as well as on every floor.

“Forced?” I'm appalled.

“Yes, sometimes that ability should have a cause as a factor of its occurrence.” Sem answered flat. He was right, when forming a shield with crossed arms, I not only wanted to defend myself, but also wanted to protect Deni. That's probably one of the factors, wanting to protect.
