The incident was missed. Maybe weeks ago. It could be yesterday. Or this morning.
Rai doesn't know when exactly. It seemed like time had passed since his death. Rai was not sure how long he had been asleep in this place, nor was it certain what day and what time it was. Clearly, she was in the body of a foreign girl. Shade dragged his soul to her. Of course, with an agreement that they discussed in secret.
Who's Shade?
Nah. It's kind of complicated. In short he is an evil force of darkness. His form is vague, sometimes resembling an abstract shadow, sometimes a person's shadow, a tree, a stone, a cockroach, or whatever he wants. Now, he settled into his own shadow. His work sleeps all day and curses from time to time.
Its origin?
I don't know.
He suddenly emerges from nothingness before him as Rai is dying and offers a crazy deal. Despite knowing impossible, Rai supported him because he did not want to die full of humiliation. A lot of debt he had to pay, especially the massacre, which resulted in the death of his best friend and destroyed his precious abode. Now, when crazy things come true, Rai suspects, lest Shade is the one that is contested by many people, which he says is a terrible power that disappears. He was even able to drag his soul on this girl, who died that night.
Discussing Shade, Rai recalled their debates in the last moments of his life, including his promises. He lowered his head, concentrating the energy on the pair of tiny hands that now belonged to him, feeling something suddenly flow in his veins. Green light emanated from his palm, overflowing as if it was alive. The smell of wet soil after the rain spread in the air. Rai was stunned by the miracle, clucking in admiration many times.
"Norak," Shade said in his mind, full of disgust.
Clo, who saw Rai looking at the magic in his own hands in astonishment, frowned in surprise.
Rai did not take a headache. Satisfied, he stopped admiring the healing magic in his hands, pinched his cheeks, excited to feel how smooth his face was. "It's real" he murmured in disbelief. "I'm back."
It seems that this girl is a pampered figure. His skin is very white and smooth. Her fingers are slender and her legs are adorable. Rai could not stop grinning at her new appearance, impatiently finding the mirror, but then glared realizing her chest was very flat. “This body, am I a man now? It's terrible! Can you find a better body? It doesn't matter she's short, but a boy?” For the sake of Heaven, Rai could not bear to feel ashamed every morning!
Shade, “See carefully! Shameless!”
Her hair was very long, it was as red as fire. He measured his own body, shorter than his old body. In oversized clothes, she looks petite. Its alright. There's still time. Her chest had not even grown. Still very young. Judging from her height, this girl was no more than thirteen or fourteen years old. Rai bet Big Aunt hasn't come to visit him yet.
At the back, the ghost of Clo did not stop cursing while Rai sauntered in front of his nose.
Uh. Rai forgot they were in a serious conversation.
Since his mood is good, give him a chance. "I'll think about it" he told Clo without bothering to turn around.
"Good!" The ghost exclaimed happily. "I'll definitely give you a lot in return! I can't wait to hit that son of a bitch! By the way, stop embarrassing yourself."
"Hm?"
Clo saw it disgusted. "You look stupid!"
"What are you talking about?" Rai did not care, scanning his new body again and again. One of his hands touched his own chest, the other pulled his lower clothes slightly, peering over to confirm something.
Then someone came in.
Turns out to be a woman. Tall, slim, and beautiful. He was about twenty. White leather. He was wearing a long, loose blue outfit. Her braided hair peered behind a long dangling headband. Unlike his plain clothes, this headband, which was three fingers wide by an adult, was embroidered with a green thread forming a four-petal clover leaf. His eyes are blue and clear. Unfortunately, the expression he showed was dull and gloomy, as if the world was unattractive in his eyes. Seeing Rai standing in a silly pose, she simply raised next to her beautiful eyebrows.
“You wake.” His voice was flat and stable, not looking surprised. It was precisely sounding satisfied, as if he had predicted before. “How are you, Yang Mul-”
So surprised Rai did not listen, but ran to snatch the door of the tent and grabbed it violently. Rai was not afraid of strangers, let alone beautiful ones, but the girl's pointed ears reminded her of something. Rai felt her heart slump into her stomach when she saw the scenery outside. Even before people saw his presence, he first shouted.
Undoubtedly, he was in a world that only he heard in fairy tales. Shade had told her before, but seeing her for real, still left her in shock!
What he saw was a bunch of beautiful fairies. His skin was pale, his ears were pointed. They are soaring. Campfires flicker at night, adorning campgrounds like a colony of mushrooms. The forest that surrounded them was crowded with large, lush tall trees and waist-high bushes.
The conversation suddenly died. Xi's army looked over in surprise.
The little girl looked up at the night sky. Her face was soft with reddish cheeks and thick eyelashes. His large, glazed eyes, reflected the light of the torch like the sunlight that broke through the clear lake in the morning, sparkling and bright. Her clothes are a bit too big. It belonged to Fae. Although it looks inappropriate because the clothes are made of rough and dull, it is still better than wet and dirty clothes. Her beauty is not diminished. It looks like a porcelain doll. They were somewhat depressed because of such delicate beauty being in their camp that was laden with the smell of blood-soaked iron rust.
As if that momentary silence was just an illusion, the next second the camp became in an uproar!
Everyone cheered happily, raising a fist into the air. No one seemed to notice the tables that housed the distressed diner dishes from all sides, the chairs crashing, and the cups spilling their contents. They simultaneously stood facing the little girl. Joy and relief are on everyone's face.
Rai stood there in a daze.
Someone slumped and cursed. “Damn, Bard! Don't push me!”
“But you're too close, Xan!”
“I'm the captain!”
“Return a little!”
“I just want to see it for a minute!”
“But later you scare him!”
Just when Xan turned his head to the entrance of the tent, he got a fist from the little girl who neglected his presence. “Whispering!” Her stature may be petite, but she is a one hundred seventeen or eighteen year old. Beside him, the beautiful girl rebuked as well.
Xan pressed his nose while grinning foolishly. “Basic you, Fae! We just want to make sure it's okay. Right, friends?” Unfortunately, the commotion subsided almost instantly. They have lined up neatly in a ready position. Apparently they were more afraid of two beautiful girls than their own captain. Xan felt betrayed.
"Your Highness Princess, is there something wrong? Why are you shouting?” the girl named Fae asked in panic. Her voice was polite and gentle, as if afraid that if she raised her voice the little girl would cry, completely different from her attitude earlier when yelling at the young man named Xan earlier.
Your Highness the Princess?
Rai was intimidated by the height difference between them and missed that respectful call. Forget about the men who were pretending to focus on the line, they were obviously very tall. Why compared to this girl, Rai still had to look up when she saw him speak? Are his legs so short?
“Don't the wound open again?” a man with two large front teeth interrupted in fear. “Lara! Quickly see, is His Majesty alright?”
Rai looked at him for a while, made sure that his ears did not betray, then asked, “You know me?”
The one asked was flabbergasted. “T-of course! Your Majesty is Your Majesty!”
Seen from anywhere, this place was a military tent. They are the Elves' army. Somehow they call their own nation, Rai recognizes it as a mythological creature of the Elves! “I mean,” Rai spread his gaze on everyone who looked back at him curiously. “Do you know me? What's my name?”
A group of people look at each other. The way he spoke left them stunned, and the calmness on his face was no match for someone who had just missed a critical period. The plain look on Rai's face suddenly made Xan turn in horror.
Could it be that His Majesty forgot about himself?
He turned to Lara, the beautiful girl, who looked surprised as well. "Did his wound confuse him?” Xan recalled the terrible wounds all over his body yesterday, leaving everyone terrified.
On the side, Clo was flabbergasted as well. "You really don't remember?" Rai seemed to mean it. Though not do not remember, in fact both identity and this world, Rai does not know anything. At once Clo looked amazed. "Gee." Then he remembered something. "Hey, we even talk a lot! Aren't you surprised? I mean, you just woke up and don't remember anything, and then suddenly you saw me, saw me! You're not scared? What about our deal? You still want to think about it, right?"
Rai only murmured indistinctly in response. Fae invited him to sit at the table closest to the campfire. Spilled bowls have been replaced with new ones. Warm tea is provided. The dishes that were left behind remain untouched. Fae and Lara sat down next to him, as much as possible to keep away the men who were scrambling to sit in the nearest seat.
They are naturally curious. The person they saved from the riverbank yesterday afternoon was not a stranger, but Her Majesty Raina Dinescha, the adopted daughter of the ruler of Alfar Kingdom! According to the news, Princess Raina had disappeared during a prayer recitation at the Labda Temple a month ago. Why did he suddenly appear at the Northwest border? The location of the place disappeared and the place was found very far across!
Seeing Rai's calmness, Fae immediately felt that something was amiss. The wounds all over his body were extremely serious, barely taking his life. Even the strongest person would be exhausted, let alone for a pampered girl. The expression on Rai's face told them as if the terrible tragedy had nothing to do with him at all. Which is very strange. Apparently, his head was injured so badly that it made him forget. Fae decided to tell me some important things.
"His Highness the Princess is named Raina Dinescha."
The story began one hundred and fifty years ago.
The little Raina was found one morning at the easternmost tip of the capital, floating in a wicker basket in the ferocious overflowing Eiter river. Queen Aimee, who had long coveted girls adopted her that very day.
He thought, girls are so fun. Her close friends often tell her how sweet they are with ribbons and dresses. The Queen also imagined having a daughter where she and her daughter spent time together, braiding her long hair, chatting while sipping tea, and of course teaching her to be beautiful. How delightful!
The Queen's two sons: Ace and Aezar. Ace was busy taking care of the Western border, almost never coming home. Aezar was engrossed in training with her teacher and her husband himself spent time in court. The Queen was lonely and spent time at Labda's temple every weekend praying. It is located in the depths of a pine forest jutting into the Eiter river in the East. The scenery there was very beautiful; the high mountains loomed, the clouds like giant cotton moved quietly, the river water was clear and sparkling, the, wild animals and fat rabbits busied themselves behind the grass that was toyed with the wind. Clean air.
Queen Aimee finds Raina, the reddest baby in the world, asleep in a rattan basket. So excited, the Queen cried, waking up the baby girl she named Raina Dinescha. Warm rain fell at that time.
Ever since Raina was found, the Queen has been praying more and more at Labda's temple. That day Queen Aimee came at the end of the month as was the custom before, taking Raina who was a week old again. On the way, a mysterious group gets in the way, targets his Little Princess, and kidnaps her.
Fae told her background patiently. Regardless of which part Rai did not remember, he told her all the things he knew. In his sitting Rai absorbed the information with somewhat distress. Time in this world is spinning very fast. He was a hundred and fifty, but his chest had not grown and he was very short!
He did not know, for Alfar who was long-lived, his age was considered as a baby!
The men split the attention between Fae who was serious about telling a story with Rai who was listening with a flat expression. Even the most foolish person knows that he does not recognize the names mentioned.
Clo remarked viciously, "So, you're a pickle boy."
"Your Majesty really doesn't remember anything?” the man with two large front teeth looked amazed. Sometimes when a person forgets something or someone, but forgetting his own name obviously makes the contents of his head a bit crooked. “How about ... uh, this?” All he pointed to was a piece of dry bread.
Xan pushed his head. “Fuck you, Bard! Your Majesty is not a fool!” then complain, “Ouh! Why did you hit me, Fae?”
Fae grunts. “Courteous talk!”
Helplessly Rai said, “Nothing. Thank you for helping me.”
They're flabbergasted. According to rumors, Her Highness the Princess is a fierce, impatient and grumpy person! Why does it look different now?
"Your Majesty, we did nothing. It should be us who would like to thank you for Your Majesty returning healthy and whole. We should be grateful!” the one speaking was a tired-faced middle-aged man. His hair is cut short to resemble a coconut shell. Despite looking tired, his eyes shone with relief as if the burden he had borne for so many years disappeared from his shoulders in the seams.
Seeing the sincerity in his eyes, Rai felt sad. If only they knew that she was not the same Raina ....
“You are right, Sir. His Majesty the King and Queen must be relieved now,” Luca, a young man with wounds on his temples, replied. “According to the instructions, we have sent someone to the Main Fort to pass this information. If lucky, they will be back in two days.”
His report left Rai stunned.
In his previous life, his parents had died. His friends were only two, and they were killed in a massacre at the Botanical Garden. His neighbors hated him and people considered him a witch. Rai is not ready to undergo changes this quickly.
Xan slapped the table and laughed out loud. "Isn't he in Fort Wetn right now? He must be speeding with his big horse right now! I bet you'll be until tomorrow morning! He must have been peeing in surprise! Whahuh? Why do you see me that way? Don't you guys also want to see that panicked face now?”
They are frightened whenever Xan calls Prince Aezar without his honorary title, though the two are indeed close friends.
When his younger sister disappeared, a huge sensation exploded in the capital, even reaching the entire plains of Greenland: Prince Aezar spread a contest and almost the entire army in Paradis was deployed. Soldiers on leave were dragged from their beds. General Balin even hired people. Xi's troops serving on the border are working twice as well as usual. Their work increased. The nights passed without sleep. Within a month, his army was overwhelmed. Other than calming them down, Xan was unable to do anything because he himself was almost desperate.
Only Prince Ace was untouched. The bird said he was very cold. Not even concerned about the life and death of his little sister. People speculated that she hated Raina.
Rai's appearance on the riverbank that afternoon shocked Xi's entire army.
A person who disappeared without a trace, no matter how people looked for him, remained fruitless. The Royal Family lost hope. Who knows when Fae and Lara were about to bathe in the river, Rai suddenly appeared by herself. Though found unconscious on a drifting tree branch, they are grateful that he is still alive. After being depressed for a month, Rai's heartbeat was their future! When the two of them took him to the camp, everyone was shocked until his teeth fell out.
Over the span of time Rai was discovered until he woke up tonight, Lara and Fae were overwhelmed keeping his tent intact.
Bard looked at Rai with a reverent look. “Thank God Your Majesty is fine. If we had found you a little later, I would have been dead by now!”
Others voiced agreement.
Fae snorted again. “Polite talk, Bard!”
Rai couldn't possibly tell the truth, so she hid the guilt by laughing along.
“But I'm curious,” Bard can't be stopped. “Who dares to kidnap His Majesty? A month is a long time. How did that fucker get away without getting sniffed?"
Naturally they looked at Rai, then immediately remembered that the Princess did not remember anything. They turned awkwardly and gave Bard a murderous look. Bard realized his mistake and laughed humorlessly.
Clo said, "Right, what does a witch want from you? I've heard them mention a few times about a book or something."
After being separated from his physical form, Clo's soul wandered long enough to seek help tirelessly. Her belief says, if that person can force her to leave, then there should be someone who can bring her back. For starters, he had to find anyone who could see him. As long as the grudge in his heart had not been avenged, Clo would not give up. So, he followed a certain group of witches wherever they moved, listening to the ambitions and evil plans they were talking about in secret. Raina's kidnapping plan does not escape her observation and feels bad for her.
Unexpectedly, Raina blows up the dungeon and destroys the binding spell after a month of being locked up. As long as the men hid it in remote villages, Clo did not see it in a special way, but that night another. Raina escapes from under her kidnapper's nose easily, even with her eyes closed! He even swore from time to time as Clo commented on his miserable state. At that moment, Clo had gained enlightenment! This girl not only cursed, but answered every comment scathingly! That is, this girl heard it. This girl acknowledged his existence!
Clo covered in ecstasy. Unfortunately, when Raina escaped fell into the river and was washed away until Xi's troops found her. Luckily, he survived.
Clo doesn't know that Rai's soul took over Raina's body at the time, who died in confinement. Shade is forced to control it for Rai who is still unconscious and deliberately let it fall because the river becomes the fastest route to Xi's forces. Rai himself did not know the incident, his first memory was the round tent where he first woke up.
Reminded, Rai repeats the story of Eins in his mind. If Clo hadn't heard wrong, then it was likely that they wanted the Ice Book from this girl. Which surprised him. Does he know anything?
“Forget it for now.” Xan saved them by holding out a bowl of tea. “Now the most important Your Majesty is back! Lara, thank you, your medicine does work!” he laughed out loud. His loud and free-flowing laughter was on his troops. “Your Majesty, let's toast!”
Had it been wine, Xan would have been kicked by Fae for having the minors drink wine.
Bard barking, “Bone of your ass! There is no wine!
“Don't spoil the atmosphere, Bard, just think so!” Xan shouted back. “Come on, come on, lift your bowls guys! His Majesty has returned and the sleepless night is over, hahaha! Toast!”
Baltroz, the middle-aged man as well as the vice-captain, obediently raised his bowl. “Return!”
Others follow, “Return!”
Even Lara who did not say much joined in. Fae briefly glared at Bard who was unable to keep his mouth from harsh words before banging the tea bowl together. “Return!”
“If only we had wine,” Bard complained before sipping his tea.
Unable to bear it, Fae rebuked from the side. “We're still on duty, Stupid! What if the enemy suddenly came and attacked? Wait for the holidays and you can get drunk as much!”
“Well. You swore,” Xan commented.
Fae glared at him. “Not my fault!” Bard helplessly relented and apologized sadly. Everyone was not distracted as if they were used to it. Xan just glared lazily. Women are always right.
Dinner is delayed. Although the dish had become cold, no one objected. Everyone dined happily. There are no fancy dishes at all tables. Only diluted mushroom soup, withered pickled vegetables and dried bread. There was no fish or meat. Even so they seem to enjoy every bite as if chewing the most delicious food in the world. Rai gets preferential treatment by getting the most servings, the nicest parts, and the cleanest bowls. Even in his previous life, Rai had never been moved to the point of wanting to cry. They're really good people.
It is not medicine that cures him.
That day, the Princess's life was on the verge of death. Lara is not confident in her family's famous secret drug. Who would have thought that the Princess healed herself miraculously, dismissing the evil rumors that said that Princess Raina was not talented in any magic, let alone healing magic. However, it seemed that his talent was as ferocious as his rumored explosive temper.
Suddenly a whooshing sound shot out from the darkness. One, two, three ... Lara jumps while throwing a flying bowl into an arrow that falls on a flagpole. He salted and kicked the rest until it broke in half. Pottery shards rang out loud in low boisterous small talk in the camp. Lara exclaims, “Attack!”
The others were ready with guns in hand. Xan gave the order, “Protect Your Majesty!”
Rai felt the attack coming from afar, but chose to stay in the seat. Let the adults who take care of this, he thought, still be overwhelmed digesting the drastic changes of his own life. Xi's army is not a bunch of weaklings. For a while Rai wanted to live up to her role as the sweet and innocent Young Miss. This attack is just a trivial matter. Otherwise, where could Shade still snore comfortably? They are tied to each other. If he dies, then Shade dies.
“Sneaky ground.” Shade grunts. Rai ignored him and sipped some tea.
After being convinced a three-tier barricade of soldiers drowned Rai in protection, Xan darted forward leading a neatly lined army ready for battle. Lara had her own group and was on standby in her position, but the rain of arrows stopped until there.
A night without the moon. Although Alfars have good eyesight at night, they are limited. The arrow contained a great inner power, clearly the enemy knew that distance was their weakness.
Suddenly someone came out of the darkness. His stature is high and large. Clad in a black fur robe, he looked like a mountain ghost. Xan did not recognize her because her face was covered in a mask. The entire army gripped the sword even tighter. The four people who were also in black robes were chanting next to him. Two of them pulled arrows from the pouch on his back and played a shiny dagger under the dim light of the torch.
“Hold,” the mountain ghost exclaimed in a muffled voice that sounded like the rumbling of a landslide. The arrow bearer and the dagger holder retreated obediently. He then removed his mask. The face that is revealed is pleasing to the eye. His eyebrows were handsome, his jaw was firm, and his long eyes were rather narrow. His aura was domineering, making it easier for people to submit to him. But even his attractive appearance, did not dampen the anger of Xi's forces.
“Lazarz!” Xan did not bother to call her with his honorary title. For him, Reiga Lazarz just means trouble. He hates this guy. “Is it you who attacked us?”
Reiga Lazarz did not dodge, instead giving him a condescending look. “At a time like this you still have time to chat, I would not be surprised if you die without knowing who your enemy is.”
“That will never happen!”
“I hope so.”
"Young Marquis Lord,” Baltroz interrupted. Reiga Lazarz was not an easy person to handle, and Xan was the type of person who easily boiled when provoked. Especially by this kind of person. If left unchecked, they would argue to death. “Is there something you need in our place?”
What does he want at the Northwest border? Do not think that because his troops were pulled from the battlefield, they were willing to colonize the territory of others.
Xan still holds a grudge. “What is definitely not a message from General Harding.” Glancing at the four people who looked unfamiliar, he sneered. “New people?”
Not without reason his army was pulled from circulation. This is related to the incident of a massacre of civilians in a small village in the Northeast of the capital. Everyone in the village died with their bodies dried without flesh and blood. Cadavers lying left with the condition of bone layered skin. Unfortunately, a small group belonging to Reiga Lazarz were patrolling the same area, but were unaware of any signs of danger. General Harding was furious and punished him by withdrawing his troops until the matter was over.
Reiga Lazarz is not a fool. He knew his army to be at the top of the list of people to suspect. As Commander, he did not escape inspection. Unfortunately, until now the problem was still a mystery and Lazarz spent a period of seclusion exploring every corner of the city and the remote villages.
Xan touched on his pain point.
"It's none of your business!” Reiga Lazarz tried to suppress the anger by ignoring it and circulating a glance. Xi's troops were still clasping the weapons tightly, who knew he was attacking all of a sudden. Lazarz is not an easy person to guess.
Xan said without thinking, "Whatever you're looking for, it's not in my place.” In just a month, Reiga Lazarz had taken many of the people he suspected of being the perpetrators of the massacre, no matter if he caught the wrong people, they never came out alive. To the point of bothering to involve yourself in the streets late at night, it is not wrong to relate to this.
“How do you know? From three thousand people?” Reiga scoffed back.
Xi's forces were preoccupied with the construction of a new fort when the incident occurred. Even now, the project is not finished. Although careless, Xan will know that someone is missing.
At that moment a sweet sound of childishness floated in the air. “Kakak, who are they?” Since his appearance, Rai's attention has been focused on one person standing behind. She had no stocky body, tended to be thin, heralded from the slender pale fingers that held the bamboo flute. He is just average. Others would not notice his presence without glancing at him twice. Among them, his aura was the weakest. Almost as if he doesn't exist.
However, in Rai's eyes, he was the most powerful.
The small group was surprised. Is there a kid here? Lazarz looked at the crowd with his sharp eyes. When he found a little girl sitting comfortably next to another girl who looked tense, his eyebrows twitched. This is not a place for kids to play! When recognizing the innocent face that was sipping on the tea without any guilt, his mind was somewhat lost. First confused, then surprised. “You .... you!”
"Where is your manners!" Fae snapped.
Reiga Lazarz has realised his mistake. Despite being an adopted child, the little girl was still the Royal Family. "Your Majesty" he said. This surprise is too big. Wasn't he reported missing? Why was it suddenly in Xi's army barracks? "What are you doing here?”
Rai replied plain, “Drink tea. Uncle want to join?”
His answer was like a mockery stirring up bile in his heart. As long as this matter was not resolved, how could he possibly have time for tea?
In fact Lazarz was a bit surprised because the boy looked obedient and calm. Throughout her memory, Raina was a noisy, impatient, and fierce boy. Other than the hobby of escaping from the palace and wandering the streets, he had never been interested in any other affairs. Since when did his mouth become so slippery?
“Is that how you see His Majesty? That's so rude! If you have no other interests, please raise your legs! Don't worry about Xi's army, we won't end up like yours!” Fae stood up furiously.
Reiga Lazarz watched Raina ferociously subconsciously, as Fae shouted on her face, she refused to be humiliated. “Damn it! Never dare to compare my army to yours! Remember, this is far from over. Who knows your troops are next target!”
“Fitness your mouth!” Xan lunged to grab the collar of his robe. “I won't let that happen! Whoever it is, I won't let them touch my friends!”
Lazarz is taller than Xan. Because of that sudden attack, his neck hurt from having to duck. Xan staggered backwards as Lazarz pushed him. “Friends?” he chuckles. “It turns out you're still a naive boy.” Regardless of Xan's angry cry, he gestured to his followers. Without a word they move separately.
Xan knew what they were going to do. “Don't ever think that I'll let you guys search our place!”
Every place Lazarz touched never returned intact. Baltroz tried to give a solution, "Young Marquis Master, let's talk about it carefully.”
However, Lara was not willing. Without warning, he chipped against the dagger holder and gave him a kick. The man dodged easily. Swords and daggers clashed, giving off white lightning that looked like lightning. The sound of friction hurt the ears. Lara's pretty eyes were filled with a murderous aura. "Go one more step, I cut your neck!”
According to the news, Xi's army had a female Lieutenant who, besides being beautiful, was also a swordsman. The news seems to be true. The dagger-keeper, who had looked bored ever since he came, was stunned by Lara's dexterity. Rarely did he meet a formidable opponent. Spirit ignited. “Not going,” she grinned. Lara attacked with her sword. While one attacks, the other defends and sometimes attacks playfully. After some balanced movements, he spoke again, “I don't want to hurt a pretty girl. Want to be my girlfriend?”
Reiga Lazarz grunts. “See, it looks like your men disagree. Who needs to talk now?”
Xan gritted his teeth.
Knowing that clashes were inevitable, Xi's forces were immediately on standby. Luca is confronted by the arrowhead. Baltroz banished a man who looked like a mountain monster with large muscles. The flute player did not move after being stopped by the Ye brothers. Then suddenly the night air became colder.
Shade woke up in his mind. Instead of getting angry because his sleep was disturbed, he smirked instead. Rai knows this is a bad sign.
The rest of the tea in the bowl hardens into ice. Other than Rai, no one noticed him. Fae was busy observing the situation, irritated that the arrival of Reiga Lazarz messed up their night. The construction of the fort is far from over. Raina's disappearance puts their work on hold. Unfortunately, when there was finally time to discuss the agenda for tomorrow, the bullies came unexpectedly. How irritating!
"Cold," Rai said, warning.
The people who formed the barricade heard his grievances and immediately realized that they were also cold. They were closest to the fire. Fae immediately realized something was wrong. Lara and the dagger holder are still fighting. Others were immersed in their beautiful game, seemingly unaware of the changing situation. Before he could give a warning, ice needles rumbled from the sky.
The sudden attack surprised everyone. Reiga and Xan's previously tense group suddenly found themselves standing with their backs pressed against each other, repelling the incoming attack while supporting the movements of the people behind it. Fae stripped off his leather cape and attached it to Rai's narrow shoulder, then grabbed the shield by the side and used it as a protector. The three layers of barricades were helplessly holding back thousands of ice needles that slid rapidly like rain.
Although it did not seem to do anything, in the leaked protection Rai focused on something. Grumbling, Shade moved after being asked because the energy emitted by the ice needle caught his attention. Rai also sniffed the smell of sulfur in the air. From Shade, Rai knew this scent only belonged to witches.
“Where are they?" gumam Rai urged. Apparently, these needles are controlled by witches. They should be somewhere around here.
Shade snorted in disgust. There was a time when he wanted to chew this brat to death. Shade hates being ruled, let alone underestimated. This boy, he thought, it's good I move, still impatient!
With his shadow, Shade can detect everything easily. Whether living or inanimate objects, near or far, as long as they have shadows, they are under his control.
Rai heard him grumble, but finally heard his answer.
They were on the North side, in the depths of a lush forest that was located quite far away. No one should be aware of his presence. These are a group of undead, reminiscent of the ghostly face that killed his friends.
Rai felt the anger in his chest surge. What a fun coincidence, he thought. No need to search with great difficulty, the enemy comes by itself. Rai can't wait to return his pain, not to wait any longer. However, Rai has yet to understand the terrain, or recognize the plot. Even though one name had been tagged in his mind, who knew there were still more? There was no way that person could work alone! Rai wanted to eradicate them at once, so had to be patient until the time came. First of all, he must first recognize his enemies and understand their plot.
For the time being, the small group that was similar to the ghost face was his first prey. It's a pity that if it's missed, who knows the Big Boss will come to visit.
Xan started cursing, “What the hell is with this fucking needle?” His face and hands were full of traces of scratches. The needles of ice are very small. In the darkness of the night, they looked like soft silk curtains. He attacked with the wind element through his sword, sometimes kicking with his feet. The wind he created was quite large, but there were always needles that escaped, they seemed to have their own eyes and to move freely with them wherever they went.
The others are not much different. Bard was overwhelmed because an attack like this did not let him pretend to be dead.
The flute holder shied away from the chaotic terrain, looking for a high place for him to stand. When he did not find any rocks or protruding ground surfaces, he stood on the trunk of a dead tree that Xi's troops used to sit down, then stuck a flute in his mouth. Skinny and slender fingers moving nimble. A calm and charismatic tone. It was rain-calling magic.
Surprised, Rai almost fell from his seat. The song she played was none other than the song Mae's grandmother had taught her when she was seven! Where'd he get it? Although Rai looked at her face to the point of being bored, he did not recognize her in the slightest. Who is this guy?
The sound of the flute was rather terrifying as the bamboo flute seemed to be made carelessly, but the song was played correctly. Unfortunately, Rai felt a different trace of magic. This guy is definitely not a simple person. Looking closely, even though Rai still did not recognize him, this person was very far from the profile of a fairy like Xi's army. Magic's different. The magic Xan and his comrades used was bright and pure, but he was not. There was dark energy inside him. Rai gasped as this type of energy contained hatred.
Shade grieved, but said nothing.
The rain immediately turned the ice needles into water droplets. Lazarz recognized Keyn's strength well, then brushed aside the remaining needles with a deep force that radiated through the flickering of his cloak. Xan glared at the impact, but Reiga Lazarz looked foolish.
“You intentionally, right?”
“That's because you're too weak!”
“What did you say?”
They will argue again if Baltroz does not interrupt seriously, “Captain, this is not finished.”
Of course it's not finished. Which bastard is so cowardly attacking them from behind?
Xan, “This loser are you looking for?”
Lazarz is not convinced, but does not argue either. The villagers were attacked by no matter who and with what force. It could be a person, or even a group. Neither he nor his people had experienced it themselves, so it was difficult to determine the cause. However, he was sure that the person behind it was not a careless person as it was able to suck the energy of many people undetected. He even had a hard time imagining what kind of power he was using until it was so terrifying. The person who attacked them clearly had a killing purpose. He suspects this is related. After so long searching fruitlessly, Reiga Lazarz saw a glimmer of hope, but suddenly felt drowsy.
Bard has always been touched by heroic acts. With wet eyes he approached Keyn who tucked the flute in his belt. “Thank you, Young Master, thank you very much! You are really great! Thank you for helping me.” He was prostrating on the ground.
Under the cover of the shield, Fae looked anxiously at Rai, afraid that he was suffering. What if an ice needle injures her soft skin and leaves a scar? For people like her who spent ages on the battlefield, scars are common, but the Princess is another story. Your Majesty is a noble person! His body was more precious than a mountain of gold! Don't let this Little Princess suffer from her carelessness!
Lucky after looking at it carefully, Rai was not injured in the slightest. But something was wrong with his eyes. Fae was stunned as he suspected the Princess to look astonished. There was no way the bloody battleground would amaze him! When Fae followed his gaze, his heart descended into the stomach. Of course not! Your Majesty must be scared!
One by one, the men began to fall. Lazarz and Xan, who fought more, were the first to fall. Bard, though a coward, never submits to anything other than his girlfriend back home. The others followed with widened eyes and mouths still wide open in shock. Fae fear. This sight was too terrifying to see. What's wrong?
Lara staggered from the side. Face pale. “Herbs .. toxic!” that's all he could say before he fell.
Fae greeted him with a trembling body. He himself was wounded. If this needle was the source of the disaster, he was relieved that His Majesty had survived, but was also afraid. Who will protect him? Helpless, Fae looked at Rai with wet eyes. Blurry views. “Your Majesty, forgive me,” she cried. Voice disappeared. The illusion before death seemed so real, he thought, as he saw the delicate and gentle Princess smirking evilly at one point behind him.

There's something wrong with this boy, Keyn thought.
He should have been trembling in fear. Supposedly, she was crying. Supposedly, he fell asleep. Like the others. So Keyn could catch it as easily as when they took him away from Labda hill at that time.
Why doesn't this magic work on him?
If it wasn't for the sake of that thing, Keyn would be lazy to deal with the boy. To him, a child is as stupid as a donkey. Give them something sweet, and they'll follow you like a dog.
All this because of Mir's carelessness. Though they had taken pains to outwit a dozen Warriors who protected him.
The Queen is not playing pampering her daughter to the degree that makes her disgusted. Wherever the little girl went, followed by a strict escort. Keyn was not willing to last longer in the group of the Young Commander who he thought was pretentious, so he sneaked in to call the rain, making a cheat in a village on the Paree hill, the Northeast of Alfar. The magic in his song lulls all the villagers to sleep in an instant until his group takes care of the rest. Its allies are the undead group that thirsts for life energy, and Alfar has pure and powerful energy. They're addictive.
He had planned it carefully. Labda Temple is located right on the East side, surrounded by mountains and green hills, the perfect route to sneak in without the risk of trouble. Lazarz's group is always hungry for battle. Incidentally they were assigned to a post that was located quite close to the location of the village. Keyn sneaks out of the castle and plays his flute. He often played to relieve boredom, while rain was a common phenomenon in Paradise. So, no one connects these two things.
As expected, the chaos in the village provoked the heroic soul of Lazarz and his army. In a short period of time, the rumors he had secretly created spread throughout the land as if growing wings. Even General Harding was fooled.
Loosely guarded at Kaler Fortress, two groups of hunters reliably infiltrate, sneaking through the day and night into Labda's temple. The Queen's routine has long been known, Raina's presence in the place has been foretold. They ambushed suddenly, shocking the Warriors and the palace guards.
Too bad, Mir messed up his efforts by allowing himself to feel pity. He has reminded me many times that love is a double-edged sword. Pitying to see the fragile little body bound constantly, he took it off. Just for tonight, he said. Unfortunately, tomorrow morning when he opened the door of the dilapidated room on the edge of the village, the boy disappeared. They think someone set him free.
When he found out the little boy was in Xi's army barracks, Keyn was shocked. Could it be they who saved him? No way! Keyn had made sure the place was well hidden.
However, the problem stems from Mir's carelessness, or maybe it was the boy who was too lucky.
Keyn ignored the people on the ground and walked up to the innocent-looking little girl in oversized clothes and loose-fitting leather robes. His cheeks were reddened by the cold air. His long hair fell on his narrow and fragile back. The yellow light of the torch reflected the golden light around him, making him appear noble and dignified. Keyn was astonished. The boy they caught yesterday was the noisiest and most troublesome boy. Without an oppressive aura. This kid is different. With people lying almost dead at his feet, he looked untouched. An ordinary child will know something looks wrong and cry out of fear. He did not even bother to turn his head on the limp body of the responsible girl who had desperately saved him. What the hell's going on?
Foolish, he thought. They don't have much time. Soon the dawn will be. Keyn couldn't possibly let the undead be seen by the people. In that village they were lucky, not necessarily he got it this time.
With a silver needle hidden in his hand, Keyn approached silently. The little girl did not flinch, as if she was waiting for something. Suddenly a bad feeling hit him. The Supala Forest was in the direction his eyes looked at, a place where the undead were waiting.
Keyn does not know that Rai has seen his secret. Even Clo, who was blabbering from feeling like he had seen Keyn with a witch somewhere, did not expect.
The silver needle struck his white neck like jade, but it broke in two. Keyn's surprised. “What did you say?” he wished his ears were betrayed.
Without bothering to turn around, Rai said calmly, “You pretended to help by calling out the rain, but in fact you pushed their lives for the undead. You pretended to be on Lazarz's side, but it was likely you who led him to Xi's army barracks to die.” Then he looked at her. That view did not come from an ordinary child. Keyn was goosebumps, as if something had pierced through his skull. “Said, your efforts were in vain."
For no reason, Keyn trembled. "What ..." The needle was broken in his hand. The little girl they caught yesterday was indeed a hotshot, but did not possess any magic talent. This girl even just glanced at him lightly, but it had already left him unable to move. His breathing suddenly tightened. "Who are you?" Judging from any angle, this girl was still the same person. What's wrong?
"Who are you?" Rai asked back. It's good that he uses a song he knows for evil. "I won't let you use that song again."
"W-what?"
"The Song of Forgotten Souls." Rai shot a sharp look, Keyn instantly collapsed on the cold ground. This person controls the undead, meaning he has a special relationship with their owner, or even their creator. Rai does not know where to find Magadh, but Shade recognizes him as a Devil. They need to find more information. This guy might be useful. After all, the song he played disturbed Rai's attention. What does this have to do with Eins? Why did this person instead become a supporter of the undead, while Eins defended him. They come from different backgrounds, but know the same song. What thread is the link? "Where did you hear that?"
This time, not only was his body stiff, Keyn's soul seemed to be uprooted from it. What'd he say? Keyn whipped his head at Rai who stood up indifferently. How does he know this song? The village of Fog created the song in memory of the souls of their fallen brothers. Only the villagers learned it. After the Vier-gene massacre two hundred years ago, he was the only one left to know this legacy. To him, this song was his most precious treasure. This boy said it easily as if he was mentioning his own lullaby. In addition to the anger, Keyn is shocked to find himself overwhelmed with curiosity. "Who are you?"
Could there be anyone who survived the massacre besides him?
"Me?" Rai grinned, cutting off the conversation. There is something more important to take care of. The undead must be exterminated immediately, or they will wander because the guide has been defeated. "Raina Dinescha."
Suddenly something invisible made Keyn's world dark. When he woke up, he had been cowering in the water prison of the Alfar Kingdom.
