When the enemy came suddenly and caught him, Rai was flabbergasted to see that face.
In a dream though, Rai would not forget it. Although he knew they were different, this person was very similar to Jalgadh. His face was as terrifying as the big demons in the Botanical Garden. They must be brothers! Is it possible to fill his head as well?
The appearance of the enemy shocked Mina, who reflexively pulled the reins and stepped aside to the side. However, even before he controlled the pegasus properly, one dragon head snorted and dropped it.
Rai saw him hovering in the air, then pulled the empty reins to bring the pegasus after him as a large claw with sharp hooves curled up his body.
Mina widened in fear looking at the giant figure behind her, shouting about something, but Rai did not listen. Before the claw pulled him away, he patted the head of the pegasus and gave him the order to fly as quickly as possible to save him.
As soon as he was caught, the enemy took him away.
Rai looked up among the sharp claws, a Jalgadh-like person was invisible. Two giant heads blocked his line of sight, drooling in his hair. Rai scrunched his nose in disdain, sneezed in succession three times, then grimaced when he realized that his shoulders were bleeding. The huge foot gripped him too tightly, barely crashing his body. They disappeared within the portal vortex in an instant, making him dizzy.
When he came out, Rai heard the man say something, or maybe threaten someone. Rai did not pay attention as he refrained from vomiting half to death. His head was throbbing and his mouth was bitter.
Shade grumbled in his mind.
He suddenly felt his body hover in the air, then landed on a hard and uneven ground surface. His cheeks and hands pressed down on something like scales. Rai peeked for a while, then complained when he found out that he had fallen face down miserably on the dragon's back.
When they had just tried to get up, they re-entered the vortex again and Rai fell back prostrate due to his head ache. He sneezed loudly, then vomited when the portal opened in a foreign place.
The dragon growled furiously as he felt his back wet with disgust, but was then shocked to the point. "You talking to me?" he growled again.
Rai patted his back once again on the clean part. "Who else would I apologize if it wasn't you? That guy?" He turned his shoulders at the large figure standing haughtily in front, seemingly unaware that Rai had not fainted at all. These dragons were extremely large, their distance was extremely far from end to end. Rai was near his tail, sure he could not hear his whisper. "Not worth it."
The dragon was glad that someone understood him and forgot his anger. "How did you do it?"
Sneezed. "Don't know. It's been this way since birth."
"Gee."
They fly while chatting. Rai leaned against her protruding bones, trying to forget her hunger and thirst by enjoying the wind blowing. His sleepiness returned again, but he could not fall asleep now. It's a pity that this dragon doesn't know anything about the Jalgadh-like devil, probably because of language limitations. The dragon constantly asked about trivial matters, Rai answered him kindly. His head was already a bit light, but then it was interrupted by the smell of a witch. The smell of incense pollutes the air.
Rai peeked down. The forest is tight and dark. The trees that were growing looked bigger than the trees he had seen in the village of Dahae. Thick moss sticks up to the branches and twigs. If someone falls there, it may take a long time to find.
"Where is this?"
"Padapa's forest" the dragon growled again, which turned out to be Ye Sa.
Sneezed. "How do you know?"
Ye Sa grunted. "This is our house." Then remember something. "Ah. Of course you don't know, you don't live here."
Rai leaned again with a frown. Shade tells him that Padapa Forest is in the Witch's territory. That's why he smelled the scent of incense in the air. They've gone so far. Where is this guy taking him?
Feeling it so relaxed on his back, Ye Sa was astonished. "You're not afraid? This guy is so cruel, we almost died so many times."
In his life, Rai had only ever felt so scared twice. Worst of all, that fear came with suffocating despair. The sadness left behind by his parents was so stifling that it frightened him, but the fear of the attack on the Botanical Garden was more terrifying a thousandfold. He was caught in despair, not knowing what to do, not knowing to whom to ask for help. The pain when the hand gouged out his eyes was still reflected until now. His gaze was indeed blurry, but if they met again Rai sure could recognize his face.
Now Rai is not alone. Shade's with. What should he be afraid of? Instead, Rai was eager for revenge. When on the pegasus, Shade could have attacked him, but Rai wanted to see where he took him. Rai must know who and how his enemy looks. "Isn't he your master? How could it be so bad?"
The dragon snorted. "I don't know who he is" he said. "Suddenly he came and threatened us to come along. Fire's terrible. Is that right, Ye Du?"
The head of another one, who was sleepy all the way, yawned, and muttered consent.
"If he is not, who is your Master?"
"Master, yes, Master," Ye Sa said proudly. "A outsider like you is not allowed to say his noble name."
Rai rolled her eyes. This huge dragon seemed to have a certain admiration for his Master, to the point of noticing the little things and keeping them a secret, as if afraid that Rai would steal them. Rai remembers Algis.
"Is it possible that your master is a witch?" If you look at where the great dragon lives, it seems that his master is indeed a witch. Rai recalls Eins saying that Magadh colluded with Thanatos during the war, perhaps their cooperation is still intertwined today. This demon snatched the dragon from its owner just like that, how could this dragon be so worthless that he let someone steal from it?
"A powerful great magician? Sure thing!" Rai almost saw the illusion of the dragon patting his chest for being so proud. "That's right, Ye Du? Oho! We're up."
Ye Du opened his eyes, but did not answer. A bored and sleepy roar disappeared from him, his eyes turning alert like he was waiting for something.
Not long after, the order to land sounded from the front. Rai immediately lay down and pretended to faint.
They landed smoothly on a field in the middle of the forest. In front of them stood an old tree house impaled by large branches in several corners. Crooked moss.
Shade was successful on the ground, so Rai was not worried about anything. Even when one big hand flanked him between his armpits, treat him as if he were a sack of radishes.
The tree house was small and seedy, unexpectedly deep like a grand grand pavilion. Chairs with high backrests line up to the end of the room on both sides, leaving a large street lined with thick carpet. The carpet ended up on the steps leading to a large seat crowned with twin dragons. The chair is empty. On that rowed chair, unfamiliar faces sat jumawa. When the door opened, they turned to see who was coming. More precisely, looking at a little girl in the hands of the demon.
The mood of the room is gloomy. Little sunlight came in. The torch on the wall did not light up, although it was twice the number of people in the room.
Shade was overjoyed by the gloomy room, giving him the discretion to be in control. He cursed them for being so stupid.
Rai complains when the devil drops him on the cold floor, but he steps on the thick carpet that looks clean. Then he went to the nearest empty chair. Rai almost woke up irritated.
Someone stand. "What is this," he said before laughing so loudly. His voice was shrill, echoing in the room and hurting everyone's ears. "Is that so hard for you? How long time has passed, you have only just come now and brought it straight away. Can't you do it? Very kind."
Someone else interrupted, "Aodhyn, you better have a good reason after being late for so long."
Aodhyn was the only demon in the room. Rai frowned when reciting his name. Why not go with Jalgadh?
"Why should I bother explaining? You already know." Aodhyn turned to someone who was laughing at him, giving him an insulting look. "Why did I bring him here? Gosh darn. Don't you know, Thundy? Thanathos. He trusts me more than someone incompetent." He insinuates. "Again, if I can bring a fresh one, why not? Meat soaked in ice for too long isn't very good."
His name is Thunder. He hates it when people make fun of him with his little name. Thunder understood the direction of his words, and immediately felt angry. "I'm faster than you! You should have bowed down because it was so late. How humiliating!"
Aodhyn, "Is that so? But, I heard Thanatos was very disappointed for not getting what he wanted. Did you misidentify the target so it brought the wrong eyes? Or is it possible that this information is also fake? Well. No problem for me. Thanatos still wanted this girl dead even if it wasn't on him."
Thunder was furious until black lightning flashed in his hand. He did not mistakenly recognize the target, but the pair of purple eyes he carefully stored in the ice box were wasted. The thing they were looking for wasn't in it.
"So, the news that Thanatos feels threatened is true? Too bad" someone commented.
The other replied, "I heard so too."
Rai started to feel cramps in his legs. What are they talking about? He had expected Magadh and Thanatos to still work together. They and their group work in the shadows. This old house was hidden in the depths of the forest, they did not want to be seen by anyone.
Eins had already given him an idea of Thanatos and Magadh's ambitions. However, they did not get it when the war happened so the hope fell to two separate twin babies in a different world.
Rai had no idea how they found him, or why the man took his eyes. It should have something to do with those two things. It seems that they comb through the information down to the smallest detail to get what they want.
Rai grinned. So, the person who killed and snatched his eyes was also standing in this room? How surprising. However, he did not understand one thing.
Other than the Book of Ice and the shadow magic of legends, what else did Thanatos want from him? Why did Aodhyn say that? The devil said he would still die. Wh why?
"Newly a conjecture," Thunder disdained. "Everyone can break the stone easily. I've tried it many times. Or, maybe your lousy army."
Aodhyn grunting. "Shut up if you don't know anything. You sound more and more stupid."
"What did you say?" Thunder summoned black lightning and shot out furiously.
Aodhyn did not budge from his place, devouring the lightning that came quietly. The black shadow on his body churned for a moment, then disappeared again under his huge robe.
Rai felt it so familiar.
Someone explained kindly, "There's a difference. The undead we create is just a piece of flesh without a brain. They also cannot talk. Wh why? Of course because of the stone. The perfect magic stone, which made Naraya so powerful and resourceful, was with the Queen. Unfortunately, stones as great as that, people even call it a disease. How ridiculous!"
Thunder, "Then why? Even if it's said to be so great, there's a time to be broken!"
Aodhyn laughs. "You fools ask for mercy."
"Aodhy!"
"Maester Five," Thunder gritted his teeth. "Did you also say I'm stupid?"
"No," he said. "But you should have understood. It was true that the magic stone that now enveloped the Queen's body could be destroyed at any time, but not by anyone." Maester Five glanced at the red-haired girl lying on the floor. "Only he can do it."
Thunder was surprised to hear this. All he knew, everyone could easily defeat every undead by smashing a stone in his chest. The stone is fragile and easily destroyed. So does Naraya's. He once smashed it to pieces, although it was somewhat stronger. As for Queen Cassandra, she didn't take it too seriously. According to him, the Queen's disease did not come from the stone, but herself. He was so afraid of being found that it suppressed any force that tried to get him out of the cocoon.
This truth is known only to a handful of people in the group, that in fact Queen Cassandra is the only person who knows the great secret between Magadh and Thanatos. He knows they're colluding. He hid a baby when the war broke out. When Thanatos heard the news of the baby, he went to him, but the Queen had suddenly been wrapped in a cocoon of magic stones, fleeing the world.
Thanatos gains both losses and profits at once. He was unable to find the baby, at least not in the near future, but his own movements were hidden in the fog. King Vanaheimr will not know the truth.
Rai listened in shock.
Thunder's mouth was extremely large, bringing up his own head contents in a stark and detailed manner. For Rai, this is an advantage. It seemed that the people in the room were the ones who knew the truth as Thunder said, so he said all things without the slightest hesitation.
Amidst the shock, Rai was embarrassed to hear a secret of this magnitude by pretending to faint. Shade simply ignored him for being so humiliated.
"How is that possible?" Thunder is still not satisfied even though it has studied the old history.
The old and short Maester Five exhaled a tired breath. "Because she's Lily's descendant. Of course you can!"
Thunder fell silent for a moment, pondering his words. "I understand" he said after a long time. "If she destroys the magic stone, the Queen will wake up and reveal the secret that we keep tight. It's dangerous."
Aodhyn was almost asleep waiting for him to understand until this stage. The tail of his eyes looked at the largest empty chair in front. "Will Thanatos not come? I gotta go right away."
Thunder was struck again. "Look, you just sat for a little while and it's been impatient. What about those of us who waited for you for so long?"
Aodhyn, "Whisper!"
The person sitting next to him replied, "No. The palace is busy, it seems that our King's envoy in Paradise is in trouble."
"God." Aodhyn laughed out loud. "It seems I left a lot of trouble."
The other parents in the room disagreed. "Even great. The longer they're there, the better our chances are."
"Want to get rid of the witness?"
The old man nodded at the red-haired girl on the floor. "Wake him up" he said. "Removing a witness can't be done without him."
Others added, "It's the right time. That boy's not there to disturb."
"really. Thank God the King sent him away, otherwise we're in trouble."
"Heh. I admit he's a hassle."
Thunder pointed at the little girl. "Are we not going to kill him?"
"Now or later the same. If he can be used, why not? He could die after that."
Maester Five agreed. "Maester Seven is right. He can destroy magic stones even more duhulu. Thanatos will take care of his eyes later."
"Using his hand to kill a witness?" Aodhyn grinned. "May also."
A large and muscular bodyguard was called to wake him up. His skin was jet, his head was plontos, and his palms were almost as big as a pot. His steps were heavy. Rai got up first before his rough hand grabbed onto his collar.
Sitting on the cold floor, he blinked innocently and circulated his gaze in astonishment. "Where is this?" Suppose not to pretend, Rai would laugh at their surprised faces.
The big bodyguard was stunned for a moment, then extended his hand. Nimble, Rai stood up and behaved in a daze before the Big Muscle forcefully pulled him. Due to his swift and sudden movements, his fake hair fell down, revealing hair as red as fire.
Aodhyn's red eyes devoured him hatefully. Before he said anything, a tall, long-necked old man walked past him.
The old man looked at the red-haired little girl in surprise, who stood before the Big Muscle without being intimidated. "Good child, you must be confused why you suddenly wake up in this place. I don't want to lie to you, every stranger who enters this house has to die, maybe we can give you a waiver if you agree to cooperate" he said. "You may not know that your hands are so magical. You can cure Queen Cassandra of her illness. Will you do it?"
This voice belongs to Maester Seven. Rai was not devoured by the trick, his gaze peeked at the faces of the foreigners who sat looking at him. He felt a black lightning settle into the hands of a young magician sitting on a chair opposite Aodhyn, it seemed that he was the Thunder. However, Rai was somewhat surprised. Didn't he take the eye and kill her? Why is his face different? If his memory does not betray, the usurper has bright eyes and mastered wind magic. One can master two or three elements, but the color of one's eyes is not interchangeable.
Thunder admitted to keeping the eye, but did not explain that he had stolen it himself. Rai suspected that it was done by someone else. He must be related to that guy. Probably his right hand.
Rai felt disappointed that the enemy had escaped before he found him.
Rai was not willing to waste his time dealing with an old witch. So, he ignored her. "Is there no more? Why so few people?" Rai counted seven witches and one demon. The two magicians that Rai did not hear his voice sitting the furthest away, seemed uninterested in the meeting that was taking place. "It's a pity that Thanatos didn't come. I wonder about his face."
As soon as the sentence was spoken, everyone gasped in shock.
Maester Seven lowered his head, studying it carefully. This young face showed no fear, its bright eyes as calm as the depths of the darkest lake. This little boy did not tremble, nor was he nervous or awkward. The way he saw them, it was as if he saw a crowd of people in the market hunting for bargains. Not surprised or surprised, as he had gotten used to.
The little boy studied his face calmly. Her calmness disturbs Maester Seven, who sees the illusion that this girl is happy to see her, marking her as her next target. "Do you understand what you just said?"
Someone swore. "You eavesdropped!" How else would he know Thanatos' name if he didn't hear it in person? Thanatos may be a great wizard, but he is one who spends his time in the shadows. I don't like being famous. "Kill him!"
Rai saw Thunder yelling in wrath. "I'm not eavesdropping" he said. "You say it out loud, how can I not hear?"
"Catch him!" The sound of the Maester Five blaring in the room. "We're leaving right now!"
"How can we go? This bastard heard our secret, he must die now!" Thunder was terrified imagining Thanatos' anger. "If he dies, that thing will never be solved. Our secrets are buried forever!"
Maester Five reminded, "He is indeed the only one who can destroy it, but as Lily's descendant. Do I have to repeat this again?"
Thunder gulped. Of course he understands! A great secret cannot be said to be great unless it shakes the world. Another secret buried for hundreds of years is the fact that the couple did not die! Faith disappears as the war worsens, while Lily is confined in Thanatos' illusion. In the end, he managed to escape.
Even until now, they could not be found even if only the soles of his feet. The news said they were dead, but the news was fake. Thanatos spread rumors to protect himself. However, there is no doubt that the two heirlooms did not disappear with him.
Lily transferred ownership of the Ice Book to someone. Thanatos forced his way into his mind, but everything seemed blurry and fragmented. He only heard one sentence clearly, 'The place that is visible but not visible'. After pondering for a long time, he finally realized that the clue revealed the location where the Ice Book was. The answer is the eyes.
When his group manages to track down the whereabouts of the two babies, his first command after years of silence is to get both of his eyeballs.
Too bad, the pair of purple eyes from the first baby was not the location he was looking for.
"I just came, why the rush to leave?" Rai interrupted, surprising everyone. "I want to ask-"
Suddenly a black fireball shot out after him. Rai did not budge, the fireball disappeared in thin air the moment it approached him.
Everyone is flabbergasted.
Still sitting on his feet, Aodhyn grinned. "I thought your calm was very suspicious. So, this is what you're hiding? Too bad, that kind of power isn't just you." He flicked his fingers and the shadow on his feet crept up into a black silhouette resembling himself. "I want to see who's better."
In that room, everyone was flabbergasted again. This kid mastered it? Maester Seven was so happy that his jaw dropped to the ground. If this child mastered the shadow, even the smallest part, then he could lead them to the Last Dragon!
Shade was angry because there were people who imitated his prowess. He cursed repeatedly. Break him to pieces!
It was only fitting that Rai felt familiar before. This guy somehow has a part of Shade with him. The smallest part. Aodhyn was too self-exalting. Shade deserves to be angry.
"Don't cry if you die first." Rai grinned. Shade became impatient, even before his words were finished, Aodhyn collapsed to the ground instantly. It doesn't look how or who attacked him. All the magicians jumped to their feet in alarm, staring at him as if Rai was a ghost that suddenly appeared and shocked them. "Ah. I forget that the dead don't cry. What if you cry for her?"
The magic wand trembled in everyone's grasp, but there was no sound of any spells being cast. The room was in complete silence. The mood grew gloomy.
They did not expect that fragile little girl to be so cruel. He kills without blinking! A demon as strong as Aodhyn died at the hands of a child? People outside would consider it a joke. Too bad his strength is not a joke at all. They had witnessed the ferocity of his father on the battlefield, the image of the Last Dragon was so terrifying. His mother was as tough as people say.
Now, their daughter came boldly and waged war intent. Eve kills out so sharply.
At that moment, everyone realized that bringing her here was a fatal mistake. Plans that they had put together for years were threatened with failure.
Aodhyn's death was only a beginning.
