Twenty One

One week rolled on quickly apparently. It feels like just yesterday I arrived in Solo, today is already Friday again. That means I only have one more day to spend time with Dad and Mom before returning to have to battle with the many course materials that await.

One week at home I really made the most of it. Every morning I help Mom make a catering order. I am very grateful because many believe the same catering has a mother, especially in the holiday season like now, turnover can rise to 50%. While Dad started working again.

In the afternoon, the three of us usually enjoy it by taking a walk around the house. Greet the neighbors. Or just a casual conversation at home.

Why is time so fast? Saturday night I have to go back to Jakarta.

Feel the dilemma when the ex comes to take a walk. But I'm not interested, even though he came to the house. I had to accompany him to talk at home. Alone anyway. Because Dad had gone to school and Mom was busy at the catering store next door.

I'm kudu piye?

The awward moment is not lost. After an accidental meeting at Bude's house, Mas Bayu actually never again tried to contact me. I was busy helping Mom too. Not infrequently forget my own phone, because really want to enjoy the company with parents.

"Do you live in Jakarta?" tanya Mas Bayu who took the initiative to open a conversation.

"Some, Mas. Many experiences to share with posterity later," I replied still trying to eliminate awkwardness.

"Why study in Jakarta?"

Have to be interviewed like this?

"Pengin. Who knows if you can be a Jakarta guy too, right? Let the kid blaster."

Mas Bayu laughed. I felt like my words were not funny at all. "You can just. The blaster should be the same as the foreigner. If it is still equally Indonesia in terms of face remains just like the natives."

Arguing the same Mas Bayu must be full of strategy if you do not want to lose. Because he can always deny what I say. "Yes as if Lebaran can go home, Mas. Not in Solo continue," I reply.

Again, Mas Bayu laughed. He seemed to be rejoicing at the laughter from earlier. "If the soul mate Solo, will be able to live in another city."

Nah, right? A little more I must have lost the argument. And when my vocabulary is lost to return the sentence, then the best way is to divert the conversation. "Ah, how do you say soul mate, Mas?"

Mas Bayu's mouth closed for a moment. He smiled at me thinly. Then sip the black coffee I serve. I remember that he was a black coffee lover. I myself chose silence, paying attention to what Mas Bayu was doing.

"Oh yeah, you're taking Indonesian literature?" tanya Mas Bayu while keeping a coffee glass on the table.

"So dong," I said excitedly. Mas Bayu knew very well my ambitions to become a famous writer like Tere Liye. "One form of preserving the literary work by studying it" I added.

Mas Bayu chuckled. "What are your ambitions to be a writer?"

I nodded steadily. "still. Until my work is actually in the bookstore." I smile after answering her question. Father said, pursuing those ideals must be with definite steps and must not hesitate.

"I doain may your ideals be achieved, Na. If you become a writer, sign a lot of you who hunt him."

This time it was me who laughed because I imagined the New Mas speech to be a reality someday.

"Are you sure you don't want to go for a walk before you go back to Jakarta?"

Oh, come! Why is he still trying to persuade me?

Without a doubt I shook my head. "Lazy ah, Mas. Hot too. Mending help Mom at the store."

"Yes," said Mas Bayu. If I can be confident, that tone of voice sounds quite disappointed. "If you don't want to, I'll go home."

I just nodded. While in the heart of gratitude. Because I'm going to escape this awkward moment that's completely uncomfortable.

After Mas Bayu came home, I went back to help Mom at the catering store. Mother's employees are not many, only six people. More precisely not an employee, because what helps Mom is the neighbors and Bude.

"Please try to get you again, Na?" mother asked as I approached her who was chopping up chicken.

"Don't know either, Mom."

"If Mom doesn't forbid you to be close to any man. It's good for you and doesn't interfere with your college."

Hearing Mom's words, I remembered the mirage. A week of not meeting, honestly if there is a longing in the heart. But does he miss me too? Ah, where is it possible. He's been busy.

"Mom, how was it when I went to bed with Mom?" tanyaku carefully.

The mother who had originally focused on cutting the chicken, now turned to me for a moment. Then focus on cutting the chicken. "Same mother Dad was dating a year ago. Just when your father graduated college and Mom graduated High School, he immediately went to bed for Mom. When you were in college, your father was already an honorary teacher, so he already had his own income."

"Directly speaking?"

"Yes, tell me straight away that she's serious about Mom and wants to marry Mom."

"Keep Mom's answer?" I'm getting curious about the story. Because all this time I never asked the beginning of Mother's same father married.

"Then I accept, love." Mom chuckles amusedly.

My brain spontaneously twisted the incident at Monas that night. I didn't even have the courage to answer straight away like Mom did on Dad's proposal.

"Why, Na? Is there a guy who's been suing you?"

I gasp. Quickly shaking his head. "No, Ma. There's nothing."

After taking an afternoon shower, I joined the television room. My mom and dad are watching television. Now I have a new spectacle, the FTV of doom.

My heart rippled to hear Mom say that sentence in a sad tone and a very heavy sigh. Both of my arms were wrapped around Mom's waist, my head resting on her shoulder. In his arms, I found the most comfortable place in the world.

"One more year, ma'am."

"When you graduate from college, don't work in Jakarta. Just work here. Same mother lonely father no you. The fate of having his only child," said the sad mother.

I had no power to hold back my tears, getting my arms around Mom's waist. I feel like I want to stay here, I don't want to go back to Jakarta. I used to want to go to Jakarta.

"Remember, Nduk, living alone in a big city must be smart to keep yourself from association. Mother will never get tired of reminding you to always be introspective, hang out with good people, pray not to be abandoned."

My tongue is too thick to answer my mother's advice. Can only shake their head.

"Dad is also your same message to not easily trust each other, let alone people who are new to the world. Because we never know, son, what's in their hearts."

"Yes, Dad." Tears rolled back on the cheeks.

"So fast you're growing up, Cah Ayu. Even though I used to still like my mother, if you want to sleep, you have to pat her butt first," said Mother as she rubbed my head gently.

"Mom, Nana loves Mommy."

"His father is not dear?"

I chuckled, then took off my arms from Mom's waist, changed into my arms. "Dear Dad too."

I heard the sound of the door being knocked. Mom had almost stood up to open, but I quickly prevented her. "Let Nana open, Mom."

Mom sat back. I stood up to open the door. Who is visiting in the afternoon before this maghrib. The door was knocked back three times. This guest seems impatient.

"Yes, just a minute."

Just as I opened the door, the person standing behind the door made me hold my breath with my mouth slightly open. A mirage that has not been seen for a week.

"Good afternoon. Is this really Naditya Pramesti's house?" He spoke exactly like a courier delivering the ordered goods.

My smile. Oh my god, how I miss this guy.

"Yes, right. I am Naditya Pramesti. What is the need for you to come here?"

"There is an order for Mbak Naditya, the sender of which is on behalf of Galih Prasetya Wijaya," he said.

"What order?"

"Message misses Naditya's mother."

My body went limp for a moment. Not to mention the heart rate rhythm that is always the same every time dealing with him, and always increases in a fast tempo when he teases me like before. Warm feeling tickles the heart. Especially when he saw his real smile.

"I'm sorry, Mas, please tell doctor Galih Prasetya Wijaya that the shady is empty."

The man laughed. So sweet. I was amazed every time he laughed.

"What doctor came here?" ask me this time in a serious tone.

Doctor Galih stopped his laughter. He looked at me deeply before answering. "Make a meeting with the girl who came home without telling me."

Twitter ambushed. I threw a grin at him. "I'm afraid to interrupt the Doctor's time. Who knew the Doctor was busy weekly nights?"

His gaze became more intense. Then he exhaled slowly. "Who's same weekly night? Obviously the guy I want to take his weekly nights to Solo."

I need a camera to wave my hand now. My mouth can't speak anymore. And regrettably, he laughed at the look on my face that must be exactly like an oon.

"Doctors know where my home address is?" ask me after I managed to master myself again.

"What's the point of you having friends in Jakarta if you don't know your home address" he said casually. The closer the distance is to me who is standing right at the doorway of the house.

My head is spontaneously retreating. "Doctor likes to go out first, but just say get from Rani."

He chuckles. One hand casually leaned against the door leaf. His gaze was still aiming at me precisely. To make me more wrong and avoid his gaze.

"Your parents are there?"

Danger if he asks like that. I was thinking about what I said to her at Monas that day. I indirectly challenged him to meet my parents. And will he realize that now?

Oh, my God, I can't. My heart wants to explode.

"A-there," I replied in a trembling voice. "Why would the doctor ask my parents?"

He laughed. Unexpectedly one hand was stretched out to ruffle my hair. "Yes because this is your parents' house. When I asked my parents to be here? But they must have come to this house anyway, that too if you accept my proposal. That's why I came here to prove your challenge."

Amby! Already, I'm not strong anymore.
