Almost an hour Indri lay sideways and stared unblinkingly at Cahya who had been engrossed in seeing the contents of the story book. Soft and thick carpet makes it feel at home lying in the cold of the rainy season, but what makes it more comfortable is to observe the behavior of the baby who cools his heart more. Some strands of hair that dangled down immediately set aside Indri from the face so as not to block his view. Indri also does not care about his back hair that is tattered on the surface of the carpet and his shirt that may be tangled after he wakes up later. The focus is only on the baby.
Indri occasionally smiled amusedly looking at Cahya who seemed to think hard looking at every picture in the book. Though it was just an ordinary storybook, or maybe Cahya had never seen the pictures directly. Occasionally Cahya busy himself by shrieking slowly, patting the picture excitedly, laughing loosely, including scowling do not understand. Indri was very anxious to observe every change in his expression, his tiny lips that often smiled widely or conical, as well as his reddish chubby cheeks that became more rounded because of irritation or when smiling. Indri was eager to pinch the white skin, but she wanted to let her baby drown in her own world. Indri likes that kind of behavior. Just like when she also likes her husband's behavior that is fun with books.
Just being talked about, Indri felt a faint shiver on the floor. A pair of feet approached. "She looks a lot like you" she sings amusedly.
"But I haven't read a book by the time I'm his age." Coming from behind Indri then sitting next to Cahya is Indra who just finished taking care of the rest of his work. The man was chin-backed, peeking at the contents of the book their baby was engaged in. No wonder he bought the book. "He'll be a loner like me" he commented wryly and confidently.
"Don't do that. I'm sure Cahya can handle it. He will ... have many friends later." Highlight Indri's eyes spooned without taking his eyes off the child. "Although that's the case, Cahya will be strong and able to face her life."
For a few seconds, Indra observed the emotional rage in the woman's eyes until she felt the same tightness. "Why is that?"
"Cahya looks more like you than I do" said Indri amusedly, but he was serious. "And .. because of that, he will be tough and strong like you. Cahya will remain upright no matter how hard the obstacles of her life." The woman held out her hands, stroked Cahya's short hair and cheeks with her fingers, making her baby look up and look at her innocently. The hair is like her hair, but the shape of Cahya's face and iris look more like Indra. Cahya's eyes are exactly Indra, full of curiosity for knowledge as well as firmness in looking and living life. "Even I'm sure he'll look a lot like you when he grows up" she said. "He .. will be a smart and handsome man" he said clumsyly.
Indra gave a gentle smile at a glance hearing that. "But I'm sure his character is similar to yours. He will be a man who loves his friends, his people, and his country. His heart will be as sincere and tender as yours."
Indri's turn is shamed. "But he only inherited the shape of my eyes and hair. Isn't the first child always more similar ... his father?"
"But with a heart that will look more like his mother." Without feeling the need to see or hear Indri's reply, Indra also spread on her back. Cahya by herself forgot her book and crawled up to the chest of the man. Indra just smiled gently and led the baby, letting Cahya face down on her chest and rubbing the child's tiny back.
In on that, Indra could see Cahya's soft mane being struck by the light from the window. The mane is getting more beautiful. Her hand that was still rubbing Cahya's back also felt how frail the baby was, instantly reminding her of the same fragility in the wife, reminding her to protect the baby as best she could for now.
"Indra, why do you agree with the name 'Cahya'?"
The idle question from Indri did not shed the warm and peaceful heart of Indra at this time. "Aren't you the one who proposed it first?" The man looked a little at Indri. "You yourself-what's your excuse?"
Indri observed Cahya's slumbering face before answering. "It means 'light'. I just thought that ... Cahya, as I will always hope and pray, will be a light to all who are lost, and a light to another darkness we cannot overcome."
Indra had expected that and smiled faintly. He looked back at Cahya. "My reasoning is more or less the same."
"So .. Do you still have another reason?"
"For me, Cahya is also like the second light that makes me the happiest."
Indri berjap lugu's. "Both?"
"First is you."
