Charlotte's Resilience
Episode 5: Proximity

All the ladies have returned to the mansion. No linger, the lady Ark group immediately left for the city of Nepon before sunset. As usual Charlotte always read literary books as filling free time on the trip. He greatly admired literary works with such a poetic order of language. There were hundreds of literary books he read but only one was his favorite and they were carried by him wherever he went. The book is the work of her mother Duchess Emilia Doengus Ark. Although not as popular as other literary books but for him the book by his mother is the best. There is one poem that she likes best from her mother's book.

...Roses live among the flowers....

...Able to attract anyone who sees it....

...The constancy of the roots that underpin it....

...And the barrage of thorns that always protected him....

A shadow of the past appeared in Charlotte's mind. The poems she always heard from her mother every time they spent together. Every morning at her favorite park, they read a book together. Little Charlotte sweetly listened verse by verse to the poems her mother had read. After reading, he always asks.

"Mother, what does the poem you read mean?"

"The poem had a depiction of a queen. Of the many flowers, always the rose is able to captivate everyone even though the rose has thorns all over the stem. So to be a queen in addition to charming we must also have a weapon as a protector in the form of intelligence and our sincere heart. The shock of the carriage blew away his daydream. Charlotte closed the literary book she had finished reading. He kept it well in a special wooden box. Suddenly the train just stopped. This surprised Charlotte. He ordered Lili to see what was going on outside. With a thick coat to keep her body from the cold, Lili went out to find out the cause. Not long after Lili returned to the train and she said.

"Our path is blocked by a snowpack, miss, so the guards are getting rid of the pile."

"Will it take a long time?" Charlotte asked with a little anxiety.

"I don't know but I don't think so, the snow is not too thick." Lili answered to nonanya.

"Thank God, at least the guards won't be late at night to do this in this cold weather." Charlotte obviously.

Hearing her nonanya words, Lili felt moved. How can there be people as good as nonanya, when all the ladies complain of cold because they have to wait in the cold weather but the nonanya only worry about the bodyguards who are working. "Lili why are you crying? Are you cold? Put on my coat so you don't get cold." Said Charlotte while giving her coat.

"No lady, I'm fine. I'm just grateful to be able to meet and be a lady's servant, that's all." Lili replied with a smile on her face.

"I'm also grateful to see you Lili." Charlotte.

Without realizing it, Lili cried after hearing what she said. He loved his wife more than himself.

Not long after, the snow that had covered the road had been removed by the guards. The group of lady Ark continued its journey to the mansion located in Nepon. Not less than twenty minutes from the snow-covered road, the group of lady Ark arrived at the city gate of Nepon.

Unlike usual, the lady Ark train troupe is directed to the main mansion of the city of Nepon where the city leader lives there. From a distance, two well-built men stood at the door of the mansion. They were the prince of Wilix and also the prince of William. After the Ark ladies arrived, the two princes approached them. Of course this makes the ladies happy, how not when two handsome princes specifically welcome them. Though actually what they welcome is their sister Emira's daughter.

Prince William boldly introduced himself, with his baritone voice he said.

Seeing this the ladies are getting rowdy because of the good looks of Prince William. Unlike Emira's daughter, she has memorized her brother's behavior that always seduces girls. After Prince William introduced himself, Prince Wilix introduced himself.

"Welcome, introduce me to Prince Wilix." His eyes were on Charlotte.

Noticing this, Charlotte turned her eyes away from the prince of Wilix. He knew that among the three princes, the prince of Wilix was very close to his father. The introductory session was over, the ladies were greeted warmly and directed to the dining room for dinner.

As usual at dinner when the other lady talked to each other, Charlotte just kept quiet and enjoyed the meal. But without Charlotte noticing, the princes Wilix and Melinda kept watching her. Melinda, who has always been superior to anyone, eventually tries to prove that Charlotte is not close to the royal family even though her father is very close to the Emperor. Melinda tried asking Prince William.

"Excuse me prince, may I ask you a question?"

"Oh sure, what do you want to ask sweet lady?" Prince William asked slightly teasingly Melinda.

Hearing what Prince William said made Melinda blush a little embarrassed but Melinda continued to ask.

"What do you think when there are nobles close to important and popular people will his son inherit it too?"

Hearing the question made some ladies glance at Charlotte. But of course Charlotte doesn't pay attention to it, she's cool eating her own food.

"Hmmmm I'm not sure, but I guess not. Since the relationship was made by the individual himself it has nothing to do with heredity." Answer prince William.

Hearing this, Melinda was very satisfied. Because he was able to prove that the popularity and closeness of Charlotte's father with the royal family does not guarantee Charlotte will be like her father.

"Does anyone want to ask again?" Ask prince William.

The ladies just shook their heads hinting that there was nothing to ask anymore. But suddenly the prince of Wilix said.

"I want to ask".

"Unusually, what do you want to ask?" Princess Emira.

"How is he doing? Is she okay, Charlotte?" Prince Wilix asked Charlotte.

Hearing the question made Charlotte startled, then looked at the prince of Wilix. But not just Charlotte, everyone who was in the dining room was shocked at what the prince of Wilix said.
