Part 01's

“Thank you very much, please come back.”

I replied with a wry smile to the cashier who served me so graciously. Without wasting much time, I walked out of the store and continued on my way to my main destination.

I looked at the bouquet of flowers I was holding right now. The color is blue, the shape of the flower petals is simple and the size of each flower is small. At first glance it looks like a common wildflower on the streets, so I'm sure not many people are interested in this flower. Surely they will choose more beautiful flowers such as roses, tulips or orchids to be given to someone valuable. But for me, this flower is the most perfect for me to give it to him. My deepest feelings for him.

I looked at the silver watch that was coiled around my left wrist. There was plenty of time, so I decided to keep walking. Well, I did like to walk even when I was still living in Bandung. Walking makes me able to enjoy the view of the city more freely. Buildings of various architectural styles and sizes, various passing vehicles, people along the road and also trees. Everything has its own beauty and charm. This city, Kyoto.

I've been living in this city for four months, since early January, when it was winter. I had a hard time adapting during the first month in Kyoto because the cold air was so cold it was piercing to the bone. But now it is in May. Along this road, the Sakura flowers are still blooming beautifully. It also feels warm and comfortable. I think I'm starting to adapt here.

“Why did you leave Bandung? Didn't you say that you love Bandung? If you want to continue school, isn't there a very good university here? Just continue S2 at that college. Or do you want to find a job? With that ability of yours, I am sure you will be accepted easily in big companies in Bandung. I'm here anyway. Would you leave me alone in Bandung?”

Those words came back in my head. Alyssa, my best friend since I was in elementary school. How are you doing now? The last time I saw his face when I drove him to the airport, he looked so messed up. He cried sobbing to the point that both his eyes were red and swollen, his snot was oozing everywhere. I knew he would not let me go, but in order to realize the selfish desires of his best friend, he was forced to let me go. I still feel guilty to him. But I've made up my mind, I can't take it back.

My destination was right in front of my eyes. I could see a vertical row of Kanji letters printed clearly on the signboard of the gate. I will finally meet him soon. My heart started to beat. My cheeks and eyes are heating up. No, I can't cry. I promised him. After taking a few deep breaths to strengthen myself, I started to step inside.

As far as the eye could see, I saw a vast expanse of land with thousands of tombstones of various shapes and sizes. It will take a long time to find it. I looked back at my watch.

“Sorry, can I help you?”

I was shocked half to death because of the voice of the man who suddenly sounded from the right direction. I almost screamed.

“Are you okay, Miss?”

“Eh?” I turned to the right and found a middle-aged man dressed in a black kimono. Looks like he's the funeral director's priest.

“You must be surprised. I'm sorry, Miss. I'm really sorry.” the man is now bowing. A really graceful bowing way.

“Ah, it's okay, Mr. Reverend. No need to bend so.” I use Japanese Kansai dialect as well as that priest.

“Thank you, but I still need to learn a lot.” I returned a smile. “Master, may I ask?”

“Of course can.”

“Umm... does the Reverend know where Kirishima Haruto-san's grave is located?”

“I know. Let's follow me.”

I followed where the man was walking. Thank goodness I met him. I raised my head a little and looked up at the sky. There were rows of birds flying forming a unique formation. I turned my eyes to the west. The sun is getting closer to the horizon. His red-brim was so dazzling.

So at a time like this…

I smiled bitterly. Resist the pain in the heart.

“It's here, Miss.”

My two eyes now stared fixedly at the tombstone before me. It says ‘Kirishima Haruto-sama’ in Kanji on the tombstone. Right, this is the place. I finally meet him now.

“Then I stay. Stay careful here, hurry home after you finish praying yes, Miss.” the man bowed respectfully.

“Thank you very much, Mr. Reverend. Yes, I will be careful and immediately go home after finishing praying.” I bowed as a sign of gratitude.

“Alright, I'll excuse you.”

The pastor left me alone. I clenched my right hand on the bouquet and took a breath.

“Finally we can meet ya, Haru-san...” I walked slowly closer to the tombstone in front of me. “... I missed you.”.
