The Light in the Land of Papua
Episode 8's.

Just spend time with that woman. Lara has built up a good friendship with Redana. sharing her story and exchanging ideas. Because she likes to do that. Even she does not mind if it is a slave though. she thinks the woman will avoid it again. however, Lara saw the fight in those eyes. Redana is struggling with her own past about dreams and fears that have long taken hold of her. Then she paralyzes her way of thinking.and as Lara continues to approach her, she shows some leeway in her mind.

In the end, Lara does it easily. It turns out that the woman only needs the right person to melt her cold demeanor. Lara remembers as they spent time together in the park.sitting face to face - ahead on a stretch of grass covered with thick cloth.around the grass and the view of the hills that stretched wide with the weather a little cloudy. the woman said that she did not want to leave her homeland which she loved so much, but, on the other hand, she wanted to be free from slavery. moreover, the poor woman lived a day and lived in a small cottage.

Lara saw how those dark eyes radiated a yearning for her future in a piece of prayer and hope, illuminated by a speck of light that one day, the woman was sure she would be free from slavery. although he had to fight alone.whether it will happen.his mind is full of hope.then the dark eyeball dimmed for a moment. His memory of the mother has not disappeared from the shadows.

he understands what Redana really wants, but he can't prevent Redana's long-standing dream of pumping blood in her body. he also mute a thousand languages and looked at Redana full of pity. but the woman never found out where Lara knew the events that Redana experienced with her mother when she was ten years old, Lara will never reveal where she got the information from. she does not want to see Redana continue to close herself. he did so solely to preserve Redana's feelings and sanity.

Although their conversation turns around, but Lara really enjoys her togetherness with Redana. she will not forget it. The woman's loose smile makes Lara amazed and happy. he thinks the woman is quite mature when discussing various topics. In the end Redana reconciles with reality and begins to forget the past.

A small smile bursts out at the corner of her sensual lips as Lara finishes the task her father gave her. making a report of the results of the fields that will be sold to several producers outside the island that was delayed.it is true what Redana thought, Redana, that Lara is a smart woman who is able to manage all her father's business problems, even though this is a new experience for her

Lara stood up from her chair dragging the steps of the end of her dress.then moved towards the door.Get out one of her hands wrapped in cotton cloth along her arms. part of his hand carried a thick and long book.he came out and re-locked the door of his room.Smooth footsteps felt silent as he passed through the hallway of the room to his father's study.

He sighed deeply when he thought about it again. left the small village he had known with his canal.then had to fly to Papua to help his father's busy work out of town. the lowly slave however had big dreams, and it amazed Lara.

Realizing his steps arrived in front of his father's office, he rushed to open the door and closed it again and walked up to his father who was sitting in the corner of the study while writing on white paper on the table. Lara was standing next to the desk.

“father. I've completed the task that father gave”. Lara proffers a book. “I hope all the reports I've been working on, it's as your father” wishes.

Dirk paused for a moment. His hand placed a black-inked gold pen on the white paper.

“father should check everything. and do not want any error”.

“good father”.

Lara moved a few steps. dragging the front seat of her father's work desk.then sat down and leaned her back against the hard surface to the back. looking at Dirk's face with a rough wrinkle appears to decorate his forehead with thin hair perched above his lips. The blue eyes shine through the book.

he jerked slowly inwardly.a soft grunt for a moment when he found the cruelty that emanated on the square face.while his mind was disturbed.reminds the story of aunt Maruna.

"father reckon, your report is already more than what dad wants”. he looked at Lara. “you really already understand”. Dirk closed the book and put it on white paper.

“really?”.

Lara smiled.

“what do you think dad is lying?”.

“that's not what I mean. I just..”. Lara clenched her fingers over her thighs.

Lara did not expect her father to return quickly.all she wanted was to give the woman time once again to enjoy a little of his freedom.

“how long will father stay in yogya?”.ask Lara to make sure.

“not know for sure”. Dirk frowned. replied doubtfully. “maybe, two or three days”.

Dirk is in the sport of meeting with some of his clients outside the city. maintaining good relations to develop his plantation business.but, this time Dirk did not tell the reason for his departure. because he wanted his daughter to focus on taking care of the fields, there were many things that Dirk had to deal with outside the fields.one of his agenda was the sale of slaves.

Lara did not want to linger long in her father's study.. Lara was too happy.

“father. I have to rest. and I do not want to interfere with father”'s work.

“until I see you tomorrow. There is still a lot of work that I have to finish this afternoon”.

Lara did not speak and only smiled as she got up from the chair and turned around to walk towards the door, but the woman's light steps stopped in the middle. Lara turned her body around.

“father. as long as father goes out of town. Give me the responsibility to take care of slave”.

Dirk barely raised his face as he continued writing on the white paper.

“what did they do wrong?”.

Right now what he thinks is meeting with aunt Maruna.continue the conversation that had been stalled by time.or maybe he wants to dig up more information about Redana. the rest of Lara found a match and felt comfortable when talking to the slave.it could be because Lara had other reasons.

“no. I just want to cooperate with them”.

Lara's chest was slightly inflated by doubt. timidly her father did not allow Lara to do so.

“if that's what you want. Dad leave it all to you”.

“thank you dad”. Lara smiled with relief and continued her steps.Open and close the door of her father's study.

Lara did not disappoint her father.all the tasks given by Dirk are always done well.it is proven how her father recognizes Lara's performance. so it is only natural that what Lara asks for always gets approval, including giving responsibility to take care of slaves who work in the fields.

He realized that his father put a lot of hope so that he could help take care of the results obtained from the field, but, he did not want to drain his brain to take care of work alone. Lara wanted to split a little time for herself.

Lara's steps now turn to the kitchen to meet her aunt Maruna.Enjoy the most delicious cuisine she has ever tried.then talk about various things she has not known much. especially the plan of his father's departure that is hidden from him.he considers aunt Maruna more than just a maid.although Lara has only known him since he set foot in wamena. for a long time, Mr. Dirk De Vries treated aunt Maruna like family, because the old woman had served for decades.
