“why are you following me more and more?”.
it wasn't Lara who looked surprised. Redana herself did not think that she actually said it.
Lara no longer had time to open her mouth or protest. The next thing to decorate Lara's sense of sight was to see the woman tie a sack of corn that had just been in her fighter. Redana's body bent down before re-establishing her body. then carry the sack over his shoulder. The shoulder may not only carry the produce of the plantation, it may also sustain a heavy burden throughout his life.
Lara did not focus on the woman's words, which continued to show suspicion with unreasonable lines of sentences.
“I don't want anything. And maybe, we can cooperate with each other”.
“cooperation?”.
The woman turned back away and passed past Lara, she turned her eyes and looked at the tired body. Lara actually did not need to see in which direction the woman's step went, because she herself already knew it. Lara's legs moved forward uncompromisingly when the curiosity in her suddenly rose instantly. she follows Redana in the middle of the corn plantation to the end of the garden, but she moves faster than Lara could have imagined.
Their meeting was not something pleasant for Lara. she was barely able to shake her gaze. gazing into Redana's dark eyes. There were so many stories, but, the pain and bitterness that afflicts the woman every time Lara approaches her is difficult and it takes a lot of effort to figure out the woman's side of life. and thought there might be something she could do to change the woman's past.at least, when Lara was done creating tension.
“do you have time to accompany me to go to the river?”.
Redana let out a very slow and heavy sigh shortly after placing the sack into a pedati parked under a sturdy and shady tree and then voiced her opinion.
“cooperate and accompany you to the river?”. Redana sneers. “I don't think it has anything to do”.
Lara did not know what to say when they looked at each other. Silently fixated on the side of the pedati.he seemed to worry for a moment when Redana showed a stiff expression hanging on her square face. his sympathetic feelings just flowed along with the wind whirring infiltrated his earlobe. Is Redana willing to accompany me?. The thought slid suddenly.
“you don't have to look at me like that”.
Lara's forehead raised fine. “what am I looking at you?”.
“as if you pity me. And I don't need your excessive sympathies”.
“I don't mean to pity you”.
“oh yes?”. tangkas Redana.
“what do you think of the way I look at you?”. Lara turned around asking. “do you still think that I'm a potential buyer?. Lara's wry smile developed at both corners of her mouth.
Redana grunts. His fingers rub gently the sweat that soaks her mysterious face before she finds the right answer. Some she does to control her sanity.
“maybe I just don't want you to keep following me, and disrupt my work in the fields.does that never cross your mind?”.
“interrupt work, by inviting you to go relax for a moment?”.
Redana was eager to hold back her thin smile.in fact she failed to do that.
“relax?”.
Lara's dark eyebrows shot up high. Her green eyes grew as if the woman was mocking her offer.
“you know. I am obliged to work all day in the field.if you want to invite me just to accompany you relax. I really can not do it”.
Lara moved forward across the distance between them.
“do you mind?”.
“what do you expect?”.
“you want to know?”. Lara finally plays a deadly style. while the woman just looks at her.
Redana showed a resigned expression.her veins throbbed loudly as her mind waited for the disjointed sentence with a deafening heart thump.she prayed inwardly that the woman would not buy it. Redana knew that she owed her life for Lara's actions that saved her from a painful whip. However, being a slave of Lara was not the solution to repay her kindness. Redana believes that the woman is wiser and smarter than herself.See from the way the woman calmly faces the cold attitude of Redana.
Lara did not seem to be giving up until she completely conquered the woman's arrogance.fishing the murky water and incurring anger on Redana's face that was ready to claw at the entire wall of her own body. that way things will feel clear and the woman will find out who Lara really is.
“how long has your mother been gone?”.
The sensitive question managed to split Redana's chest cavity.grip deeper with a passionate resentment. What does that woman really want?. Where did that woman know about Redana's mother?.
Redana could not cover her reaction.her throat felt clogged with gravel stones as she tried to recall the woman's question in her mind.and still, Redana fell to the same conclusion. so Redana waited for the sentence what else would be thrown from the woman's mouth.he was swiftly challenging back.
One of Lara's dark eyebrows is raised slowly. “you think?”.
“I don't like you stalling my question”.
“I know everything”. agile Lara
“how is it possible?”. muttered Redana while shaking her head in disbelief.
“you don't need to know where I got the news”.
Redana let out a long sigh.she felt that there was no point in arguing with Lara. All her words would only break her head.
“forget it. I don't want to discuss it”. replied tired Redana as she passed away.
“how hard is it to accept me as your friend?”.
Redana's steps stopped for a moment before turning back the body. Lara moved forward. His breath felt tight as she gazed into the woman's pale misty eyes. Lara continued her conversation that had been cut off.
“Redana. I'm not a prospective buyer of slave”.
Redana.
Lara's loud voice rumbling sounded. “and you need not be afraid to send out the island”.
He tries to shake off his frustration when Redana has accused him of being a prospective slave buyer. Lara always thought the accusation was ridiculous that ever happened.Lara actually did not want to see the fear continues to haunt the mind of the woman. especially when he looked at Redana's face flushed with anger and how suspicion for the sake of suspicion created by his own thinking.
And that's a story from the past. Lara could read it in just an instant, although Redana would probably deny it. Lara hopes that she can open the windows of her life and she wants to do everything she can to keep the woman from being trapped by her past and worse, worse, redana's past cannot be separated from the influence of Lara's father's hand which has made the woman have to lose her mother when Redana was ten years old.
The two pairs of dark eyes turned to Lara's wrist and gently squeezed the woman's fingers as a form of plea.
“please tell me that you said true”. Redana urges slowly. “make me trust all your words”.
There was tremendous relief emanating on Redana's square face when she asked to make sure the woman said something that made her feel confident that she would be detached from the victims of the slave sale. even Redana is not strong enough to imagine that if only she was sold and sent out of the island, it would torment her mind when she had to leave her homeland.
Lara looked at the woman who seemed to be begging and never receded as the eyeballs grew pale.
“is my statement still lacking to make you believe?”.
silent.
Lara knows how the woman is stuck with her past. Lara also knows what it's like to live by her mother. What Redana experiences is not much different from her. and either way, the two women had completely lost their mother figure since they were both little. but now is not the time to compare what is bad and what is not bad in their life story. Lara hoped her words could be trusted.
Redana sighed and braced herself. “I'm very grateful, for what you said earlier”. Redana pulled back her hand from the woman's soft fingers.
“you must be relieved. right?”. Lara threw her thin smile.
The two women were silent for a few seconds. Lara read the flash of relief hidden in the woman's eyes. There was a power looming in Redana's mind.then the sentence that just came out of Lara's mouth had made Redana stunned for a while. he realized his mistake had accused Lara so that a feeling of shame was on her face.
“i don't know where to start”.
“how about we make friends?.. do you like that. Redana?”.
Silent.
The woman was still unmoved. suppressing her awkward expression.Shame made it difficult for Redana to catch her breath. Her flushed face mastered it. she started to move back one step while scratching her head though not itching, but she was still very slightly, as a form to distract her as Lara throws her sensual smile before turning to her back, Lara passes for something she doesn't know why. he did not even say anything when the woman passed. Redana thought the woman couldn't possibly lie to her.
However, there was a sense of astonishment infiltrated instantly in his mind. Redana? How does the woman know his name?. Who is he?. Redana's mind churned again.
Come on Redana. You don't need to find out who he is. Is there anything wrong with saying your name? How important is your name to you?. Isn't your burden tired enough of your own thinking?. Living like a prisoner who never knows how life is out there?. Don't waste the opportunity to go have fun with that woman. You don't have to be so cold and selfish of your own feelings. Your filthy thoughts are time to get rid of as far as possible. You are no longer a child!.
Stop over.
Redana breathed in a moment. The discordant voice gave herself the impetus that she should try to change things.
