The Light in the Land of Papua

The Light in the Land of Papua
Episodes 10.

The hard and cold teak wood floor was barely noticeably under the pressure of her body as Lara lay sideways.let the long black hair unravel on the pillow. His finger bent to support the head. a dark red dress in a thick blanket that comfortably submerged her body.warming Lara's cold body all night. The other finger gripped the end of the bolster.

For a moment he forgot to take his eyes off when his eyes were fixed on the face of the square sucked his attention. The woman lay beside him in silence. Lara almost wanted to ask. What is Redana thinking?. But of course, he undoes his intention because he realizes he does not want to know too deep to know the contents of Redana's head.

He knew Lara was staring at him, half dark from the light of the oil lamp that was reflected on the wall. Redana steeled herself before returning the woman's gaze.keeping her gaze on the ceiling was a pile of dry weeds that elaborately conicaled upwards.allowing her body to sink into a thick blanket half body. both of his hands were placed on top of his stomach, diverting the coldness that was almost bone-piercing.

Lara was a little agitated, enduring the pain from the hard floor - which Lara basically never slept on the floor. he looked sad with eyes that stared pusar as if he could not believe the night in the cottage. What am I doing here?. he's trying to get used to the situation. And this he's just doing for Redana's sake.but, being in that cabin. next to that woman. Lara has plenty of time to tell each other.

The two women who had been silent with their minds were apparently completely silent. Lara had absolutely no idea of what was going on here in this hut.but, on the sidelines with her own thoughts. Lara managed to build a light conversation.

“You are not afraid to sleep alone?”.

“for what's afraid.I'm used to solitude”.

“i just felt lonely after breaking up with my girlfriend”.

He was softly jolted. The woman's frank speech made Redana silent for a few seconds. with round eyes shone on her full of curiosity.forcibly averted his eyes. gazing at the sparkling green eyes past the gentle moonlight. that fact apparently makes Redana do not believe.the beautiful woman who is next to him can experience a breakup.even though the beauty that she has is almost like a princess from the land of dreams.

“what made you break up?”. Redana asked, a little surprised.

Lara sighed very slowly over the question, or maybe Lara was not used to being asked back when she was expecting another question.

“he cheated, and it hurt me so much”.

“do you regret breaking up with him?”.

Lara shook her head. “not at all. I just don't like the solitude”.

He did not understand why Lara said that which sounded unpleasant. such a tone of reproach. dislike. absolutely do not like solitude. The sentence came out in a matter of seconds. even before Redana's brain managed to examine what happened to the woman and her ex-lover after breaking up.

So, does he blame Lara for his dislike of solitude? What about her year-old self who lives in solitude?.how could she not possibly deflect the words of the woman.or deny it. No stupid human being wants to live alone.

After weighing all the complaints made from the woman's mouth. Redana was silent for a moment as Lara changed her position. The woman lay on her stomach.crossing her smooth hands on a pillow. Redana expressed her opinion.

“sometimes. we are not aware, that every problem is a learning and, how can we learn to understand a situation. I am trying to pass it”.

Lara turned. stared at the woman. “ever felt in love?”.

The question bothered him even though it sounded in a low tone, he obviously never felt it.

Then, what does he really feel?. does Redana not feel the same?. Lara kept asking that inwardly.not something natural.or perhaps wrong.at first.but long - the feeling turned into a clear comfort and then again changed more to feelings. you could say Lara was interested in the woman even though she was trying to hide it.

Lara's melancholic feelings took hold of her mind as she stared at the pair of dark eyes.Redana was not lying. Because at one time she had a look like that when Lara was experiencing puberty. in silence Lara's heart skipped a beat.

“you're lucky”.

The statement jerked Redana. changed her position in such a short second. lying sideways.hiding her hands under her head. restored her gaze to Lara. Redana's other hand now moved pulling the blanket. Does the woman not know what is going on right now?.a connection that is increasingly being created even though she tries to hide it. Redana revealed her heart in a soft tone.

“sometimes I want to feel loved and loved. so that I can be free from loneliness”.

“you need to find the right person.making you feel comfortable and fit.and you can fill each other's hearts.commitment.there is no other way.that way, you will understand what it is to love and love”.

Redana can not be sure whether the woman's speech is excessive or there is a hidden meaning.although in fact she hopes to meet someone. accept Redana as is. treat her properly - as appropriate. but he didn't have the courage to tell Lara that, and it was a small delusion that flashed quickly through his mind.

“really?”.

“iya. try to prove.my speech will not be wrong”. replied Lara confidently.

"what if that person is in front of our eyes?".

"meaning?".

Silence burst into long stares. anesthetizing the two women's eyes who looked at each other.in the middle of the night increasingly concentrated.he tried not to recall his memories with Andrew. where at that time Lara faithfully spent her time with the man. accompanied him wherever the man went. and decided to live together for many years without marriage status. every moment they go through feels beautiful, but what happens, Lara catches the man having sex with a woman who is also Andrew's schoolmate. and bad again the disgust was done at Lara's house when she went to the canal. turns out they secretly communicate with each other and steal time without Lara's knowledge.

The man was indeed his first love, and would be the last one. It was only natural that Lara thought so because the man was very handsome and educated, and at that age Lara was still fairly young. maybe it can be said that Lara is looking for identity or rather self-maturity.she knows the man is five years older than her, but age distance is not an obstacle for her. but still the maturity of a person does not lie in age. he realizes it. even though Lara loves him.

A month, two months, three months to five months Lara still did not show her disappointment towards the disgust. Lara is still strong to hold her wounds deeper.she is a tough woman.young, learned and assertive.there is still time to find love elsewhere. no need to feel rushed to blame yourself.yes there is no need. absolutely no need to blame.

Lara does not want to be traumatized in the affairs of love. For her love is a gift of god that can not be denied. he did not think at all about the man's feelings when he decided to end the relationship. Lara was tired of facing the nature of the man with a variety of reasons.he was sick of being hurt.he was almost hurt throughout the course of their relationship.that afternoon, he was sick, Lara did not want to let the man add to the list of heartache in her life.

Self esteem.

When his heart is fragile due to a breakup, he receives a letter from his father asking Lara to fly to wamena to take care of the fields. of course it was not without reason.he did not want the pain to reappear if he remained in the Netherlands.for him going to Papua is the right way to treat his heart injury. and it turns out that he met aunt Maruna and Redana, two women of Papuan blood who are connected.

So he must make sure to throw the man away for a better future. now - as the wound gradually disappears he discovers a new feeling entrenched in his heart.that the feeling affects his sanity. The question now is whether Lara is ready to accept any consequences?. What if the woman refused?. Should he get rid of his feelings or enjoy the sweetest sin more deeply?.

That's where it all started…
