Autumn In Kent

Autumn In Kent
Thanksgiving at Emma's House

The next day Puti woke up with full freshness. The pain lodged in his heart for 2 months, no longer stifling his chest. Still feels. But not torturing him.

Eagerly helping Mrs Walden, Emma's mother prepared a meal for Thanksgiving dinner: roasted turkey and an assortment of other special dishes. Meanwhile Emma and Christy are busy making cakes and pastries. While at work they tell their childhood stories that are funny, exciting and electrifying.

Fatigue prepared for the missing dish when they had all gathered and sat around the dining table. Nick was there that night. She was already counted as one of the Emma family members. At the exact time Mr. Walden was about to begin his prayer of thanksgiving when the doorbell rang. Mr. Walden postponed his prayer.

‘Let me open the door.’ Christy got up from her chair and walked to the front door. A few moments later, there was a sound of a door being opened.

‘Steve, I thought you weren't coming,’ Christy cried out loud.

Hearing the call, Emma soon caught up with her sister. A moment later his long but indistinct scolding rang out in the ears of everyone sitting at the dinner table. Doesn't sound legitimate in the least. All that was heard were the footsteps that walked closer to the dining table.

Christy walked next to Emma. Christy's face beamed while Emma looked irritated. Behind the two of them appeared an extremely handsome golden-haired young man with a smile that could brighten even the darkest night. Steve Carroll!! For a few seconds Puti's heart stopped beating. But his brain immediately turned.

So apparently Steve was the brother who was called Christy last night? Why is Steve Carroll not Steve Walden?

Steve approached Mrs. Walden and gave a light kiss on his cheek.

‘Dad, Nick, Puti,’ said to everyone sitting at the dinner table. ‘How are you, Puti?’ he continued while sitting on a chair beside Puti that Christy had occupied. Christy has to shift.

‘I thought you were in Cleveland, Steve.’ Mrs Walden opened the conversation. ‘Puti, you already know Steve, my eldest son right?’ Reciprocity. Puti. Steve smiled broadly at her.

‘Daddy is in London, so I decided to come here. May my arrival not be a hassle,’ replied Steve.

His father is in London.. Means Mr. Walden is not his father. Maybe his stepfather. Emma and Christy Steve's half-sister Puti managed to deduce why Steve's last name was different from Emma and Christy's last name.

‘This is your house too, Steve. You can come anytime,’ said Mr. Walden warm.

‘Sorry I'm late,’ said Steve ‘Have you prayed?’ tanyakanya.

‘Not yet,’ replied Mr. Waldens. ‘How about you take the lead, Steve?’ his proposal. Steve fulfilled the proposal and began to pray in a deep and quiet voice.

‘God Almighty, we thank you for the opportunity you gave us so that we could sit at this table with family and friends. We are grateful for the food that our lovers have prepared. We are grateful for our lives and the freedom to enjoy all of Your Grace. As we enjoy this meal, Lord, give us health and strength to step forward and lift the burden that hinders us. Thank you, Lord. Amin.’

After praying, they immediately ate the dishes available at the dining table. Everyone ate as if they had not seen food for days. Except Emma's sitting right across from Puti. Manyun's face. It seems that he is not happy with Steve. Several times Puti saw Emma staring intently at Steve. But Steve himself was calm to face all that.

As soon as the main dinner was over and everyone moved into the living room, Emma touched Puti's shoulder while hinting for Puti to follow her towards her room upstairs.

‘Puti you must be confused to see his arrival, right? What is his relationship with my family? Why did I never tell you about her and why did I pretend I didn't know her?’ emma said as soon as the door to her room had closed.

‘I'm a jerk,’ Emma says. ‘But Steve is more of a jerk. Thanksgiving she didn't come home. He was always in Cleveland with his father. I asked Mom if she would come. Mommy said no. Christy called him and said she couldn't go home. Uh, it turns out she showed up‘

‘Emma, I don't understand why you're being cold towards Steve. Isn't he also ... well .. entitled to come?’

‘Because you are here, Puti. I don't want him to meet you.’

‘Emma, I already know Steve. Even before we were halloween to his apartment back then. Although I didn't know he was your brother. I just found out tonight ..’

‘That's what I don't want,’ Emma said. ‘I don't want you hanging out too familiar with him. ‘

‘Emma...?’

‘Do not have negative thoughts first.’ Emma warned. ‘I would love to be my family. But the problem is just the opposite. Steve was never serious. Many girls. Like her father, she does not believe in marriage. But he's happy chick. Maybe I wouldn't care so much if the girl he was dating didn't know. But if that girl is my best friend, Puti, I will insist on opposing her. Every time I have a friend, Steve comes close to him. A high intensity relationship. As soon as their relationship broke up, I lost a close friend, while Steve had already changed another girl.

‘Emma, there's nothing between me and Steve.’

‘Puti, I know very well the nature of Steve,’ Emma argued. ‘I'm sure Steve is trying to get close to you. I didn't know you knew Steve. I was shocked when I saw Steve drive you to our apartment. I went to him and asked him not to bother you anymore.’

‘He doesn't bother me, Em. He just drove me to the eye clinic.’

‘Steve expert in approaching girls. I'm afraid you're the victim. Moreover, you are hurt against Mike.’

‘Emma, relax,’ entertain Puti. ‘I'm fine. After the incident with Mike, I was totally knocked over. I don't intend to have a girlfriend anymore. Especially her brother. There's no way I'm going out with my friend's brother.’

‘Hah, don't believe me!’ Emma's objections are fierce. ‘You're dating even a fiancee with Mike Gray, your own foster brother’ Emma continued.

‘That's an old story, Emma. I think I'll be able to take care of myself. And if fate makes me fall in love with Steve and he leaves me, I feel strong against him. I've had the experience of being left behind by people.’ Puti continued joking. Inevitably Emma smiled, although she still felt worried as well. He had absolutely no doubt of his brother's ability in luring women.

‘If anything happens later do not say that I did not warn you yes.’ Emma's message before they go down.

When Puti and Emma rejoined the rest of the family, Steve was trying to light a furnace. She turned to Puti and Emma then blinked one eye at Emma as a signal that she knew what Emma was talking about with Puti. Emma snarled and walked up to Nick and sat down beside him.

Puti walked over and sat down opposite Christy who was setting the chessboard. A moment later the two of them played so coolly that Puti did not realize that Steve had managed to light the furnace and sit nearby watching them play.
