Maimun Palace, sometimes also called the Palace of the Green Princess, is the grand palace of the Kingdom of Deli.
The palace is dominated by yellow, the color of the greatness of the Malay kingdom. Construction of the palace was completed on August 25, 1888 AD, during the reign of Sultan Makmun al-Rashid Perkasa Alamsyah. Sultan Makmun is the eldest son of Sultan Mahmud Perkasa Alam, the founder of Medan city.
Since 1946, the Palace has been inhabited by the heirs of the Sultanate of Deli. In certain times, in this palace often held performances of traditional Malay music.
Usually, these performances are held in order to enliven the wedding party and other joyous activities.
In addition, twice a year, the Sultan of Deli usually holds a friendship event between the extended family of the palace.
On every Friday night, the sultan's families held a customary outing (a kind of family wiridan).
For the visitors who come to the palace, they can still look at the collections displayed in the meeting room, such as photos of the sultan's family, ancient Dutch household furniture, and various types of weapons. The story of this gun butts has to do with Princess Green. In the Eastern Kingdom, there lived a beautiful princess, named Princess Green. It is called so, because its body emits a green color.
He has two brothers, Mambang Yasid and Mambang Khayali. Once, the King of Aceh came to ask Putri Hijau, however, this proposal was rejected by his two brothers. King Aceh became angry, then attacked the Kingdom of the East Kingdom. The King of Aceh defeated Mambang Yasid. When the Acehnese army was about to enter the palace to kidnap Putri Hijau, suddenly a miracle occurred, Mambang Khayali suddenly turned into a cannon and shot blindly without stopping.
Because it continuously fired bullets at Acehnese troops, then this cannon split in two.
Its front was found in the Surbakti area, on the Karo plateau, near Kabanjahe.
While the back was thrown into Labuhan Deli.

Every day, the Palace is open to the public, except when there is a special ceremony.This palace seems less maintained, maybe, this is due to the minimal cost owned by the sultan's family.
