My cousin Maduku

My cousin Maduku
Chapter 53

"Let's go in first, we can chat with the others."

Ratih and Riska follow Ratih's usual cousin in Bude Jum's greeting.

Over there, in the parking lot of a motorbike. Narti continued to observe the movements of Riska and her mother. After making sure they leave the parking area and enter the house of the person who will hold a celebration. But a phone call rang from his bag stopping his steps that were about to enter the house.

Narti swiped the green call screen to receive a call from her daughter-in-law, Danang.

"WHAT?" cried Narti as soon as he heard from the son-in-law.

"All right, Mom will be there soon. You take good care of Siska." he said then rushed to run towards his butut motorcycle parked in the yard of his brother's house. In his heart he was worried about his youngest daughter.

***

Danang was sitting in his wheelchair waiting for his struggling wife at the operating table. Due to the considerable bleeding, Siska had to perform surgery to remove her baby even though it was not yet months to give birth.

Danang saw Siska's body that had been lying on the kitchen floor unconscious with a drenched blood.

As usual all day he went to sell tissues, but that day his feelings were not good and uncertain, as long as he was selling Danang looked anxious and thought of Siska who was at home alone. When in fact he was very lazy to meet his wife, especially considering their quarrel the other day.

Because of his condition that does not allow to help Siska, Danang finally asked his neighbors to help lift his wife and take her to the hospital. Not to forget he also contacted the in-laws in the village to inform the situation of his daughter.

Although Danang knew the child in Siska's birth was not his own child. But his human side could not bear to see Siska like that.

A few hours later, Siska's operation was completed. Siska move it to the ward.

"I'm sorry we couldn't save the mother's child" Sister said after Siska. The words that made Siska surprised and it felt like she wanted to die.

Deg.

'How is this?' Inner Siska was even frightened given the threat from the assistant Sanusi.

"Why? why didn't you save my son? It's free for you to save me if my son is gone." he cried hysterically with tears in his eyes.

"We've tried everything we can." A sentence that Siska could have guessed. Sentences that Siska often heard from a health worker if he could not save his patients in the dramas that Siska often saw. Usually Siska saw in the drama, now actually heard directly.

Danang who saw his hysterical wife was surprised, he thought as evil as his Siska, Siska must have been hit because she had to lose her child. Without Danang knowing, Siska is not hysterical because of the loss of her child, but hysterical because she has to lose her source of money.

"Quiet, Honey. You've just had surgery." Danang said, calming the wife by stroking the back of her hand.

"You said calm down, Mom? I just lost my son. How can I calm down?" her screams to her husband.

"This is beyond our control, dear." said Danang but Siska did not heed her husband's words, she looked straight ahead.

After returning from Bude Jum's house, Riska was sitting on her mother's living room couch.

Tok...

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, inevitably Riska opened the door.

"Guardian, lek monggo." Riska opened the door wider than before.

A tall man was standing at the door.

"Mom, is there any Trainer?." The man about 40 years old looked at Riska with uneasiness.

"She, Lek. He's in the bathroom. Wait a minute, Dad, lek." Riska's hand led to the wooden chair next to the door.

"Where does it come from, Lek?." asked Riska who really did not know the person so that he could more easily convey to his mother about the guests who came.

"I'm Lek Yani, ma'am. The man who harvested the cassava Bu Ratih." the man's description was greeted with a small nod by Riska.

"Oh yeah, just a second Lek. I'll call you first."

With her head filled with question marks, Riska followed her mother to the bathroom.

Not long ago came Riska who followed Ratih behind her who met her guests on the terrace.

Patih home terrace is deliberately installed in wooden chairs, so that male guests who visit the house do not need to enter the house. Given Ratih's widowed status, the idea came when Riska was just entering High School.

"Lek Yani, I was going there. Uh, alhamdulillah. Sampean is here." With a friendly smile Ratih greeted his guests who were being seen in confusion.

Then Ratih took a seat next to him who was in a partition with a table made of teak roots.

"Bu Ratih my arrival here would like to ask. Did Miss Narti give money to the genengan?." Lek Yani, the man who was trusted by Ratih to take care of his cassava sales asked carefully.

Riska and Ratih looked at each other and frowned. Gaining a question mark-filled expression and astonishment from the host, Lek Yani felt guilty.

"What do you mean, Lek? we just came from the city to help you. My plan is to go to the genengan house. But it was as if the genie had given the money to someone else. Did Lek give the money to Bi Narti?." Riska really did not understand why Lek Yani asked that.

Yani is getting wrong and feels wrong. The man who believed his mother was getting unsettled and agitated.

Yani is a driver who trained Ratih to shred and sell cassava to factories that produce tapioca flour.

"Sa-I'm sorry Ma'am, Ma'am. Yesterday afternoon I received money from the factory. I'd like to deposit it to Mrs Ratih. But my phone just happened to fall and break. I contacted the sampean but I am not halal Miss Ratih. I finally took the initiative to wait until I got home. But yesterday afternoon Ms. Narti came to the house. And said he told Mrs Ratih to take the money, because I knew she was Mrs Ratih's sister. So I'm not suspicious. The money from the sale of cassava I leave everything to Miss Narti. I heard that Mrs Ratih came home, so come here to make sure. But it turns out that Mrs Ratih hasn't received the money." Lek Yani felt more guilty.

The description of Lek Yani undermines the balance of Ratih's body. So that Ratih leaned his body against the back wall. Immediately Riska approached her mother afraid something happened with her single parents.

"Innalallahi... Does Lek Yani not know that Mama and Bi Narti are not getting along? One more thing, we never told anyone to take the money. If this is the case, how about Lek? What will you do?." Riska was angry with this man in front of her.
