Chapter 7: Jin Hee Clue (1)

This place really works. The blow, successfully reminds Min Joon that today Jin Hee is no longer with him.

"Today you're mine, tomorrow you're mine, but who knows? Should I see you more often? Or force you to stay by my side?" the writing on the faded green handkerchief was slightly torn, but Min Joon could read it well.

Min Joon repeats Jin Hee's handwriting reading and tries to understand what the boy's words mean, he also reads two other pieces of cloth that Jin Hee handwritten.

"Jin Hee, I'm coming!" he said as he looked towards the lake. For a few seconds a light speech came from the voice he so longed for.

"You should come more often! You always make me wait!" The voice of imagination disappeared as Min Joon tried to answer it. Min Joon left the place full of memories and headed to a place not too far from the lake.

There is a little boy in the place, he is seen laughing funny in a house that is familiar to Min Joon. The boy sits with a woman, a woman who is unaware of Min Joon's arrival. Min Joon who was silent in front of the fence remembered something.

Seoul. August 30, 1993.

Her memory floated, as she approached a child at a birthday party 20 years ago. They started the introduction in a simple way.

Lim Jin Hee, the little girl called her name awkwardly. Knowing Jin Hee is Sun Woo's sister, Min Joon is crazy. Like finding a new toy, Jin Hee becomes her favorite after Sun Woo.

"You daydreaming? Park Min Joon?" the woman shouted to wake him up.

"Oh! Ji Yeon!"

"Why just visited? Where have you been looking for Jin Hee?"

"Aah .. I'm still in Seoul. To be honest, I wonder if you have any news about Sun Woo or Jin Hee? I went to your restaurant yesterday." Min Joon joins the porch.

"I thought you came for that. Wait a minute, yes" he said running inside and returning with a small box. "I've actually had this thing for 2 months. But, I was thinking of not telling you or giving it to you!" ji Yeon said giving the big box a golden color.

"What's that?"

"I think these are his things. I went to Jin Hee's place of work, because the hotel called and asked me to pick up items that had been in their old locker for over a year, so–"

"This thing belongs to Jin Hee?" sela Min Joon, "have you seen him? Are you sure?" cecar Min Joon asked.

"No! I didn't see it. This thing uses a password and I don't know the passcode, I've already entered Jin Hee's birth date, Sun Woo and your date of birth. But, it still doesn't fit!" bright Ji Yeon.

"If it wasn't our date of birth? Then what?" min Joon said remembering.

"I don't know! Ooh yeah, the sun's coming home soon? Would you like to have dinner here with us? I made tteokbokki and ...."

"No need, I'm going back to Seoul!" cut Min Joon down.

"Alright, be careful on the road!" ji Yeon said waving her daughter's little hands.

"Npus ... Jin Ah's! Uncle go first yeah ...!" he said to the little baby who had been sitting there ignoring him. Min Joon leaves with Jin Hee's gold box and returns hoping to find something. Min Joon did not go straight back to Apgujeong, he continued his journey today.

Min Joon drove to Seoul and stopped by for a while at the place where Jin Hee once worked as a part-time worker, because the late night Hotel where Jin Hee worked looked quite busy.

"Sorry before. I want to ask you about a part-time worker named Lim Jin Hee? Do you know him? Two years ago he was working at this hotel" Min Joon asked actively.

"Sorry, we cannot provide employee or guest information to anyone else! Welcome, how can I help you?" continued the female employee bowed right when she saw another customer coming.

A foreign man called her slowly, as if to make sure of something. Min Joon responded.

"Are you looking for Miss Lim Jin Hee?" ask the man to Min Joon who looks tired with his flashback trip today. "You're looking for Lim Jin Hee right?" continued.

"You know him?"

"Aah ... we used to apply at this place simultaneously, so it could be said that I was Lim Jin Hee's co-worker! But, may I know who you are? Ah ... Is it possible that you are Park Min Joon? Lim Jin Hee's fiancee?" she managed to recognize Min Joon.

"Yes, thank you so much!" min Joon smiled as well. "The day Jin Hee disappeared, did you know anything?"

"A few hours before Jin Hee left I saw her talking to her brother. Unfortunately, I didn't hear anything. They whispered to each other, that's all!"

"Is there anyone else?" said Min Joon.

"Eitherway! Aah .. but, after that I met him in front of the locker room, he left his locker key to me. He's getting very strange. The way I call you feels different. He said someone would look for him and ask me to say I didn't see him."

"When exactly was that day?"

"That day we had a community of painters, so I remembered the date. That was November 15, 2011. He said that I should look after him, but if Park Min Joon is looking for him he asked me to give him that thing."

"What thing?"

"Gold box. He asked me to give it to you. But you never came looking for him. I thought maybe you came when I wasn't working. So two months ago, during the locker cleanup, I gave Jin Hee's belongings to her friend."

"Then thank you very much, Han Jung Woo! I owe you so much."

"Well, Park Min Joon I remember something. 'I can't explain it to you! For sure if he really comes looking for me please tell me, I'm in a place that I've always wanted to go to and I won't go far.' Such was the sentence Jin Hee expressed before leaving the dressing room." Han Jung Woo is still trying to explain.

Min Joon was very grateful. It feels really amazing. Min Joon should have come to this place earlier.
