Don't forget to pray. Bismillahs..
The meeting will finally arrive later tonight, precisely ba'da isya. Before that, Vey got orders to buy a delicious meal to serve to Gus Omar. She also doesn't have much time to cook on her own. After all, he was also not as enthusiastic as Uncle Gani and Budhe Atun. Other than not having time, he was lazy. He did it only because he wanted to be filial, as Kafil said at the time. Nor is it for trying to open the heart and ambition to be a son-in-law kiai.
Amidst the excitement awaiting his arrival at night, he still thought of Kafil who was somehow in his condition. Traces of comments on social media that should be able to be examined, now there is nothing else that Vey can use to find out. He could have come to meet Akbar, but somehow Akbar also seemed to be avoiding him. Akbar is also difficult to find. Maya, Zezee, and Miftha agree to tell him to be patient and wait. Meanwhile, Kala actually asked him to focus on preparing mentally to face a meeting later tonight at Uncle Gani's house.
Vey's phone is ringing.
📞"What's up, Uncle?"
📞"Na, Guse suddenly requests a meeting at the diner. It's been booked VIP."
Vey sighed. Glancing at the kresek bag he was carrying.
📞"Have you bought the cake?"
📞"Yes I bought it, Uncle."
📞"Yes the money's Uncle changed."
📞"No need, Uncle. Thanks though. I'll just eat at home with Kala."
Not yet had he pulled the motor gas, his gaze accidentally thrown to the left.
"Him?" Vey. Straightly his brows furrowed.
"I have to talk to him." Vey got off the bike. Chasing the man who entered the clothes shopping.
Now he had to hunt down the man inside the crowded store. I don't know where that guy went. At first he stood in the middle of the door, circulating his gaze to all sides. That man doesn't exist. He kept coming in, shaking off the crowd. He thought the man must be looking for men's clothing.
"The man was wearing a t-shirt and a suit. I have to find him."
After ten minutes of circling around, he finally found the man was picking levis pants.
"Where are you?"
The man looked slowly. From the water on his face, it was very noticeable that he was surprised to see Vey in front of him.
"Deliberately dodged because I didn't want to be interrogated?" Vey doesn't need to talk.
"I'm busy, Vey. I'm temporarily replacing my father's schedule. So, I have to meet with a client. I meet outside a lot."
Vey didn't want to hear that excuse too much. "That's it. I just want to talk to you for a minute. I have something to talk about."
"I can't take long, Vey."
"No problem. We're talking now, you're shopping tomorrow. Please, I'm sure you can answer all my questions."
Vey read the change in expression on that face. Which is getting longer.
"Don't be here."
"okay."
They went to a mini cafe by the roadside, not far from the clothing store. There, Vey simply ordered a glass of avocado juz.
"I won't take up your time as long as you don't convolve."
"Well, what's the matter, you?"
"OK okay. Please talk!" Akbar waved his hand. Showing her relaxed face water. He's a little crumpled up while straddling.
Vey put both his hands on the table. Linking fingers.
"Right, right, Kafil came back to Malaysia for no apparent reason not because he was married?"
"You know the answer, Vey."
"I want to hear it directly from you. Just answer why bother?"
"okay.iya. Kafil doesn't marry anyone."
"So?"
"Udah mengingan you directly ask the point ajalah. I really don't have time." Akbar saw the clock.
But, Vey glanced back. She suspected Akbar was just pretending to bother because he kept wanting to avoid her.
"Why does the office of his Papa Kafil have to be closed?" Vey hopes the question will drag in some other answers.
"I don't know."
Vey's eyebrows are wrinkled. He brought the face closer.
"I don't believe it. My feeling is that you're lying. What's the big deal you guys are covering up about me? I know why the house was sold. Make a cover of employee salaries, right? Why should Kafil and his family behave like runaways if his father is not guilty of the office closure?"
"Lu already knew."
"I want to hear it straight away." Vey.
Akbar grabbed something from his wallet. Slide a piece of paper folded into a rectangle. "Kafil and his family are not doing well. You'll probably know the answer to that letter." Akbar.
Vey looked at the paper for an instant, then held Akbar's gaze back from turning away.
"Why should he sacrifice our relationship? Akbar, he told me to accept my Uncle's offer."
"I don't understand your problem. I'm just delivering a mandate. It's up to you to believe it or not. Read the letter, you'll know why." Finally, he walked away.
Vey hissing. With a heart full of thump, he unfolded the paper slowly.
Assalamualaikum, Beautiful Nana.
I hope you're always okay. I know I've bothered you. It makes you feel disturbed. But, what can I do if my circumstances are impossible to meet you. I know, you smart girl. You must know why Papa's office was closed and not Papa. I love you, Nana. But, it seems like I don't deserve you. May the man you are introduced to be, he will be your best mate.
"Srstttttt." Vey squeezed the paper. Sizzling. Then, hit the table. Straightened his forehead.
"Cafil, Yes Allaaaah. What do you want? It's so easy to say rich without you knowing how I feel, Kaf. Crazy you, Kaf. Crazyaaa." He's holding back that anger. Sizzling many times. Covering his red face. His heartbeat rhymed undisturbed.
Vey lamented Kafil's statement. Not that it makes the curiosity complete, but Kafil actually makes him more want to be angry. He only gets clarity, but doesn't get the answers he wants.
He's up. Leave the drink intact. Then, chase after Akbar who has gone out of nowhere.
"Akbar anyway I have to find you." He rushes to wear a helmet, then turns on the bike. Wussssshhhhh!!
Vey left with an excited heart. Ambitions that cannot be controlled. He felt his body warm up, while the wind was blowing quite fiercely - racing at the speed of his motor.
That's right, he guessed. Not long after his motorcycle stopped in front of the office, Akbar's car just came. He hurried to follow, entering the parking lot. And, confidently, he parked the motorbike in the car park. Down's up. Then, approaching Akbar with long steps and in a state still wearing a helmet.
