Gold And Diamond

Gold And Diamond
Part 15 "The Face of the Sweet Girl"

When Abhimana explained the lesson of the Qur'an to the tenth-graders in MA Mahbubah, his mobile phone suddenly shook. His hand stopped, he looked. Ask permission to santri-santri to pick up the phone for a while. If the one who called Gus Omar, he did not dare to ignore.

”Nurmaya to where, Bi?”

”At school, Gus.”

”The driver said he wasn't there. Find him, Kang!”

”Ngapunten I finished the lesson explanation, Gus. Later I find.”

”Iya. You will immediately search. Can be bothered if he is not in the cottage.”

Gus Omar immediately disconnected.

“What is possible to Kala's house? In fact, I already said no need,” murmured later.

He continued his explanation for about fifteen minutes. Lesson hours are half an hour. Then he asked the students to do the training and must be collected at his desk.

He called Gus Omar again, no answer. He also sent a message, asking for Kala's mobile number, still tick two. After he went down the stairs to the parking lot, he went back to check. It was the same, the message was unread. But he knows what he has to do. He returned to MAN to meet Sharif.

Thank goodness he still had time to meet Sharif in front of the gate. Sharif called him and asked what was going on. Before he asked, Sharif himself said that Nurmaya went home with Kala.

“Take me there! I'm gandol.”

Sharif accepted the offer.

Upon arrival at Kala's house, he saw Nurmaya's sandals lying in front. He got off the bike. Ask Sharif to walk ahead of him.

“Assalamualaikum?”

Kala answered his greetings quite loudly. But, Nurmaya hurriedly mojok near the cupboard.

Not only was Kala stupefied, Abimana was silent.

“I used to be here to meet someone,” her inner self.

Kala rise. He sent Abimana and Sharif in. He also said he happened to be having lunch. But, Sharif actually refused and immediately went home. Again he invited Abimana in. He told her that Nurmaya was with him. At once apologized because he had gone to take santri without permission.

Vey stands right in front of Abimana who still remembers the last time she came to this house. The house that turned out to be the residence of Kala and her sister. Vey to the living room still wearing an apron full of acrylic paint and oil paint. Including his cheeks and forehead that were exposed to white and blue paint. He invited Abimana to sit down.

“Pak, sorry I and Nurmaya just wanted lunch. Monggo, Sir! I go to the kitchen first.”

“No need,” firmly Abimana. He watched Kala at a glance, then looked at Vey who had passed back to the side of the kitchen.

Abhimana forgot, what was the purpose of coming to Kala's house. There was a piece of the past face that suddenly flashed in his head. At the time, he was thirteen years old. He was the only son of Mr. Cipto before his second brother was born a male. Wherever Mr. Cipto went, he was often invited. If his father went to Pak Adi's house to order superior rice seeds and tobacco seeds ready to plant, he was also always with his father. Meet him with the Sweet Girl who always hugs her father from behind.

The cute girl had short hair like a man. Longest, only about a boat. Although she looked nine years old, the girl looked like a seven-year-old. His small and thin stature with an always spoiled attitude towards his father.

To Abimana, the girl looked very sweet. Abimana who had been puberty in his teenage years, certainly can distinguish the taste. Whenever she asked her father to accompany her, she was always excited. Because, he would definitely meet that girl. And hope always happens. However, what is the power of him who used to be very shy. The sweet girl also seemed to be unconcerned about his arrival.

“Isn't he your brother?”

“True, Sir. Any need same Onni?”

“No. Your sister's name is Nana?”

“Mmm...Vey Kun Nana Syafa’ah, Mr.” Kala is still confused as to why Abimana is focused on Vey. It was not directly asking Nurmaya who remained in the corner.

“That time you were two years old. Your brother's grown up, but looks like he's a kid. He likes short hair. She loves to disturb her father working.”

Kala remembers a glimpse of the photo in Vey's room. She confirmed Vey's fondness for male hairstyles.

“Pak Abi can know that?”

“Yes I just realized we used to meet often because my Father subscribed to your father. I recall. Is he married now?”

“Not yet, Sir. I call Onni, yes, sir. Maybe Onni is done painting it.”

“Painting?” The water turned curious. The girl he used to love is now a painter. That was beyond her expectations.

“Innallahi. When died?”

“It's been a while, sir. Oh, that's Nurmaya, sir.” Kala asked Nurmaya to sit in front of Abimana.

Abimanah. “Why is there?” lontarannya later.

Nurmaya. Come close. He hurriedly apologized.

“Gus Omar sent me here.”

The face immediately lifted. “So does he care for me?” inner Nurmaya. It feels so shameful.

“Besok-tomorrow do not repeat.”

That face is sinking. He was worried that Gus Omar would scold him because he could not hold his trust well.

“We ate, Sir,” said Kala a little condolences.

Vey popped from inside. Carrying an empty plate and an omelet that he had just fried.

“Please, Mr Abi!” Vey sitting. Put down what it brought.

Hearing the voice telling, Abimana could not resist. He wanted so much to appreciate.

“Nana?” call him before scooping.

“Ya?” Vey stared at the ordinary. He just felt a little unusual there to call him that. Only two people called him that.

“I can see your painting?”

“Can. I'll take you to the side room. All promotions.” Vey smiled thinly.

Kala continued eating. Nurmaya and Abimana started together.

Five minutes of food was gone. During the meal, he only focused on the taste of the food.

“Who is cooking?”

“Onni.”

Again Vey looked at Abimana. Usual. Presented a knotty smile, which had unconsciously made Abimana speechless.

Abimana.

Everyone is silent. Vey stared one by one, Kala, Abimana, then Nurmaya. “Ya already mengingan we see the painting. Come, La!” He got up first.

Kala followed, then Abimana and Nurmaya. They both followed Vey and Kala.

In the room next to what Vey was referring to, there were dozens of Vey paintings. New, old, or ordered.

Vey begins to talk as Abimana begins to admire his masterpiece.

“It used to be just a white room. Deliberately emptied so that his ideas continued to emerge. Only by looking at these works can I remember the bitter sweet life that I and my sister have gone through.”

Abimana was fascinated. Glued on one of the largest works attached to the wall. There were two apparitions of laughing women, Vey and Kala.

“And the painting, will always remind us that we smile so that our parents are happy there. In His heaven God.”

Although the voice sounded strong, but Abimana felt a lasciviousness that could only be grasped by feelings. He stared at Vey for a moment.

“Mas Abi if you need painting, lettering, wedding dowry can order to us. God willing we make it as good as possible. If I look around from his face, this looks like he wants to marry for sure.” Vey tried to joke. Breaking the silence of the room.

Abimana just smiled thinly. Tends to still have a flat face.
