The Destiny I Chose

The Destiny I Chose
Divorce Trial

I've reached the religious court, where I'm officially divorcing Mas Radit. I was with Santi, my free lawyer. I've cooked a lot of packaged rice with her favorite balado jerky side dish and her family. I was thankful they ate it when I gave it to her. It proved that my cooking was very welcome in their stomachs.

"Come, Ma'am, we go inside" said Santi who immediately disperse my daydreams.

I followed his steps to get inside. However, when I got inside, how surprised I was because there was Mas Radit there. Not only alone, it turns out he came along with his mother. What do they want? Was not being satisfied making me suffer all this time?

"San, if the defendant comes, is there a chance that this divorce trial will be void?" many fear. I really don't want to go back to Mas Radit. Regret me why at that time did not ask for three talak directly so that we could not refer. Then I'm afraid that he's coming to try to thwart this divorce.

"So calm down, if he tries to appeal, we've got evidence of him and Tia's affair in the building."

I was shocked to death to hear Santi's words. Where does he know about this. I never told him one bit.

"Where do you know, San?"

"I'm a lawyer, Ma'am. I will definitely be looking for solid evidence for this trial. About me knowing where you don't have to worry. Clearly, the man will not be able to stand in the way of this divorce trial."

I also breathed a sigh of relief. I don't know anything about lawyers. But thank God that Santi has found evidence of Mas Radit and Tia's affair.

"Eh, Lidya, don't you take the kids?" ask Bu Rani. I don't think I'd call it mother-in-law. Soon she will be my former mother-in-law.

"No!" sahutku.

"You didn't say you worked at that expensive restaurant. Temen Mama's story, he said he was watching you in the restaurant with the uniform and the name of the head chef. Must be a lot of your salary, right, Lid, how much?" ask without shame. How can there be such an old man? Absolutely disgusting.

"Why? I don't want any salary to have anything to do with you." I'm still being so snubbed at them. It's not like being nice to the person who has made me suffer.

"You don't do that, dong, Lid. Before the court hammer is knocked, you will still be Mama's daughter-in-law. And you're supposed to give money to your mother-in-law."

Heh, did I not hear wrong? He asked me for money? Is that true? Is he crazy?

"Lid, you can't be like Mama. He came here to see you." Mas Radit even defended his favorite woman. Really shameless!

"Wildamah! I don't have any more business with you guys. You better never interfere in my personal affairs, let alone ask for money with me. No shame, huh? Dzholim is the son-in-law. Turn has been successful even ask for a part. If I'm personally embarrassed, yes." I stared at the two of them. I don't care who they are now. To me they are nothing but self-knowing hypocrites.

"You, this is good, and it spills over! A lot of money is still arrogant!" Now replace Bu Rani who began to show her true nature.

"Well, because when I don't have money you can step on me at will, then it's my turn to boast. Because in this day and age, that money can buy everything, including your attitude!"

"You're talking, yeah!" Mas Radit was ready to slap me and it was a success to make the judge and some people in the room shake their heads. Even in a public place like this Mas Radit dared to be rude to me. But that's okay, this way the evidence will get stronger and they won't be able to get in the way of divorce today.

"Udah, Ma'am, come sit down. Well, it's appropriate for Mbak to divorce people like him." Santi glared at Mas Radit and invited me to sit down at my place.

Mas Radit followed and sat down with me. He no longer speaks and focuses only on the judge who will read the judgment which is very important to me.

Although Mas Radit initially tried to cancel this divorce for various reasons. The one who loves, the one who loves children, the one who regrets. However, after Santi provided evidence of Mas Radit's affair through his mobile phone, the judge rejected Mas Radit's request.

Finally, the hammer was knocked and we officially divorced. I was so happy after getting the divorce papers so fast. I am now officially a widow. But widows are happy to have escaped toxic husbands like Mas Radit and cruel in-laws like Bu Rani.

Outside the court, I received unkind treatment from Mas Radit. He threatened to make my life suffer for daring to fight him earlier. She was the one who first looked for trouble with me.

"Look, yes, Lid, your life will not be calm! It's good that you're happy after getting divorced with me!" Mas Radit pointed at my face with a sharp look. Why should I know a madman like him?

"Who are you that dares to threaten Lidya?"

Suddenly someone came and challenged Mas Radit. That sound? I know him very well. Why is he here? Is there a divorced friend here?
