From: Brother Xander
Va, I want permission to take Wren lunch together and buy a new Jersey. Can't you?
To : Brother Xander
Yes, you can, brother. But, surely Wren is not just any snack.
From: Brother Xander
Thank you. I'll take care of him.
To : Brother Xander
Okay, Have a good time!
After replying to a message from Xander, Elva immediately agreed to a lunch invitation with her staff.4 colleagues in her division were even very happy—though still do not believe— Elva would eat lunch with them.
Yes, Elva always brings supplies from home. The reason is because it is more guaranteed cleanliness, delicious and practical. That's how the staff knows. However, the real reason was because the woman wanted to downsize. Part of his income was saved for his son's future. Elva just wants to make sure Wren can live enough so that her son does not feel inadequate despite living in a limp family.
Ever since Wren was born, Elva has always tried her best for her son. Not infrequently, his own needs he ignored. His desire to shop always managed to hold. He who looks fashionable was inseparable from the intervention of two brothers—Xander and Nindya— who almost every month buy clothes for him. The two brothers knew that Elva was more interested in saving money for her son's future than beautifying his appearance. The woman's brain is programmed to always put Wren's needs first.
In addition to financial needs etc, Elva is always strict in maintaining the health and diet of her child. Thanks to her cooking skills, she always prepares food for Wren while ensuring her child's nutritional needs are met. If his son wants to enjoy snacks such as : penthol, cilok, dawet, dsb, Elva's own hands that will make. The woman had even paid the lizard to get the recipe. All this he did to take care of his son's health.
So when contacted that his son is now in the hospital, the world of Elva suddenly feels stopped. Panic, sadness, fear of actually ambushing her.
"sorry. I didn't know he was allergic to peanuts." Said the man who had been standing next to the bankar. There was a clear tuning tone from his sentence just now.
Elva rubbed her messy hair violently and then grabbed her son's little fingers and said softly, "Just leave us alone, Please!"
The words of the request he spoke were completely ignored. The man was still inside the room even with his henchman sitting on the sofa located to the right of the gurney. His position was now being faced with Elva.
"What do you want from me?" The question with a quivering tone came out of Elva's mouth. Her face and reddened eyes made her look pathetic.
"Huh?"
"If you want revenge because I slapped you, then now you can slap me as much as you want. I'd even like it if you want me to kneel while kissing your feet. I really don't why. But please not my son. Don't use my son to get revenge. He's not guilty. He has nothing with this shit!"
The word per word that came out from the mouth of the woman in front of him involuntarily pierced a part of his heart. The man —Grianly— does want to take revenge on Elva. He also had the thought of using Wren as a medium of retaliation. But, this incident was not part of the plan as Elva alleged but was completely pure accident.
Grian from last night couldn't sleep well. Wren's shadow went back in circles in his mind. Partly because of the mother who suddenly knew the presence of the little boy and partly due to the prosecution he did. Moreover, when knowing that the child likes sports even the same club with him. The man really could not shake the image of Wren smiling happily. He always wanted to see that smile.
Therefore, after dawn, he immediately contacted his secretary telling him to handle all the work until he returned regardless of Richard's puzzled question, the secretary.
The man was back following Wren. Starting from waiting for the school bus— accompanied by his mother—until the boy entered the class. And, when the clock came home from school, seeing Wren sitting at the security guard post, he felt so happy that he had little chance to talk to Wren at least until the boy's mother picked him up.
"Uncle G's? How come it's here?"
The man smiled then stepped closer to Wren. "Uncle there's a little business here, boy."
"Just like the old times?"
Again the sentence was cut, but this time Wren did it. "Know, sir Kus. Uncle G here's the one I took part in the race on Father's Day."
"Well, you're very familiar." Said mr. Kus. Wren clapped his head quickly to respond to Mr. Kus' statement.
"Why are you still here? Missed the school bus?" Grian asked, pretending not to know.
"So at recess, my homeroom teacher said that Pader would pick me up. So, same he I was told to wait in the teacher's room but I chose to wait with Mr. Kus only because he wanted to chat the ball."
That sweet smile again brought comfort to Grian's heart. "Oh so."
Mr. Kusnaedi back on his feet, "Yes, Pak. We are both football lovers. Dek Wren likes Barcelona while I like his biggest rival, Real Madrid. The two of us even often bet that El Clasico game or another match both teams."
The man's forehead wrinkled, "Better?"
"Yes, uncle. If Barca win, Mr. Kus must carry me on his back for 1 hour while if Madrid win, I have to massage the back of Mr. Kus for 1 hour." Obviously Wren was full of spirit.
"Hehehe, I can't possibly take a kid betting money or stuff. It's gambling, and sin too." Said Mr. Kusnaedi.
Wren's eyes were directed to the front of the school fence, "Kok pader really long, sih? My stomach is rumbling."
"Yes, tumben mr. Xander late. It always comes before the bell comes home."Mr. Kus said then entered his small post and returned with a plastic bread and a small cup filled with water. "Dek Wren ganjal use this first. Don't eat late, you'll be sick."
The small hand grabbed the gift of Mr. Kus, then said. "Thank you, Mr. Kus." Who only replied to a smile by the man in his mid-40s.
"Look, mending you go home with uncle only. Later uncle tell your mama by phone. Wanna?"
Wren paused for a moment and then spoke, "Pak Kus has Pader's phone number. What if uncle connect directly? I'm afraid the padre will be confused find me."
"And then sir Kus will tell you that Mr. Xander is coming, Dek." Said Mr. Kus telling.
"But, the padre doesn't know uncle G. I was afraid I would be kidnapped. The pader from the outside looked calm but if he panicked, he could turn into a madman. He could have connected intel to get me."
Grian looked at the boy in astonishment. Intel? For a 9-year-old, Wren's diction is pretty awesome.
Mr. Kus laughed loudly, "Hahahaha, Mr. Xander can be strange as well as it turns out. I think the person is calm and dignified. But, that means he really loves the same Deck Wren."
"That's it, anyway, I know very well."
There is a little frustration that appears to see Wren so fond and looks very fond of Xander. Ah, but that's it.
Grian immediately contacted Xander after Mr. Kus gave his contact. However, Elva's boss' phone was off. Grian left a voicemail to Xander containing their location for lunch so the man did not panic and could catch up with them immediately. He didn't need to mention who he was, the man would already know his identity.
"What do you want to eat?" Grian asked after they arrived at a mall not far from Wren's school.
"Once upon uncle. Mama said that if we are treated, we should be grateful. Don't want much, it's just as troublesome." Grian smiled at the words of the little boy who was holding his hand tightly. "You're not a hassle, kok. Uncle even likes to have someone eat."
Wren replied with a big smile that made Grian not rub his head so anxious with the behavior of the child. Then, they walked towards the restaurant that the man had chosen.
The food they ordered was a few minutes away. They eat full of voraciously until Grian realizes the changes to Wren's body. A rash appears on his skin so that the child stops his activity and starts scratching his hands. A panicked Grian immediately called the waiter and paid for the bill, then ran out looking for a taxi with Wren on his back.
On the way, Wren began to lose consciousness and fainted upon arriving at the hospital. The doctor said the boy had allergies. From there, he knew that the boy was allergic to peanuts. Grian was completely guilty of seeing Wren lying weakly in a hospital bed.
Not caring about the risk he would receive, Grian ventured to tell Elva about Wren's situation. However, not as he imagined, not a slap or blow that he received but a charge that deeply pierced his heart. Creating a pain that penetrates the chest. It's true the saying goes, "Words can stab you than a blade."
