Rendra Adiyasta is a 27-year-old man. She works as a pelvis worker at a livestock feed wholesaler in the city of Jakarta. He lived in a remote village in the city.
Every day he traveled about 60 km to get to work. He was just a high school graduate who used to rely only on scholarships until graduation because he was one of the outstanding students in his school. While sitting in college he had to leave because he could not afford the cost of his studies. He eventually quit college and went to work.
At that time Rendra came home from work through the forest that connects with his village. As he rode his motorcycle, he heard the sound of people asking for help.
Rendra thought it was the voice of a ghost who wanted to disturb him because it was already approaching Maghrib. But Rendra continued to advance as his motorbike, but the voice was even more clearly heard in his ears. Then Rendra stopped his motorcycle and he parked on the side of the road.
Rendra tried to listen to the voice and it turned out that there was someone asking for help from the ravine beside Rendra standing up.
"Please..please....!" that voice sounded so weak it was almost inaudible.
Finally, Rendra decided to go down the path that might be difficult for foreigners to find the path. The road is covered with very thick bushes. A high-risk road if you pass through. But Rendra's curiosity made him more desperate to continue down to the abyss.
How surprised Rendra was when he saw a man hanging from a ravine and just holding on to the roots of a tree.
"Son, help me!" said the man.
Rendra immediately reached out her hand and tried to save the man.
"Sir, please take my hand!" rendra said as he extended his hand.
Finally, with full struggle Rendra can save the man.
Rendra was shocked when she found out who the man was.
"Sir Darmawan!" rendra was shocked.
Darmawan is a loyal customer in the city. He is a property businessman and also the owner of the largest farm in the village where Rendra lives.
"Sir, why did you fall?" ask Rendra.
"Son Rendra, there was a cat that passed and then I avoided it by slamming my motorcycle to the right but instead fell" said Darmawan.
"God, where are you going?" ask Rendra.
"I'm going to the farm, son!" answer Darmawan.
Rendra immediately took Darmawan up and took him to the road.
"Son Rendra, thank you for saving me" said Darmawan.
"Together, Sir! I just happen to be going home." replied Rendra.
Finally Rendra brought Darmawan to his house because it was getting dark.
"Preferably come to my house first!" bring Rendra.
"What's not a hassle?" ask Darmawan.
"No sir" replied Rendra.
Rendra invited Darmawan to stay at his house, he will drive him tomorrow morning.
Rendra drove his motorbike at medium speed towards his home. It was a very simple house that he lived in with his mother.
A few minutes later, Rendra arrived in front of his house. He parked the bike on the porch of his house.
"Let's go in, sir!" Rendra invited Dermawan into his house.
"You live alone?" ask Darmawan while looking to the right and to the left.
"No sir, I live with my mother! Maybe he is still in the mosque." replied Rendra with a smile on Darmawan.
Darmawan only mangosteen and returned Rendra's smile.
"Sit down sir, I'll make you a drink!" said Rendra let Darmawan sit. He then went straight into the kitchen to make Darmawan drink.
"Thank you son Rendra, I'm sorry to bother you!" answer Darmawan.
A few minutes later Rendra came out carrying two cups of warm tea and brought a plate of fried food that he got at the dinner table.
"Let's drink!" Rendra put two cups on the table and a plate of scarecrows.
"Assalamualaikum Ren!" a woman who was still wearing mukena entered the house while saying hello.
"Waalukum salam, "Rendra replied then he walked over to greet his mother.
The woman was shocked when she found out there was someone else in her house.
"Ren, who's that guy?" ask Rendra's mother.
"This is Mr. Darmawan, Mom! sorry Rendra brought him here!" answer Rendra.
"True Ma, Rendra had helped him from the ravine" said Rendra.
"Sorry I'm a hassle!" darmawan.
"No sir, but I'm sorry if we could just give you a place that wasn't too comfortable. This is how we are!" said the woman who gave birth to Rendra.
Her mother went straight into her room to remove her face then she headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner that had been cooked. Then he called Rendra and invited her to dinner.
"Rendra.. invite Mr. Darmawan in for dinner!"
The three of them had dinner together even if it was just the potluck but for Rendra the most delicious cuisine of his mother from restaurant cuisine. Fried chicken, scrambled tempeh and terasi sambal are Rendra's favorite menu. Every weekend his mother always cooks Rendra's favorite menu because she knows if Rendra will come home.
"Sorry sir, we can not give good food because our circumstances are just mediocre" said his mother Rendra.
"It's been very special, thank you ma'am" said Darmawan.
After finishing dinner, Rendra headed to the living room to accompany Darmawan who did not want to sleep.
"Why haven't you slept yet?" ask Rendra.
"Son Rendra, you can't sleep because there's something you want to say!" darmawan.
"About what, sir?" ask Rendra.
"When on the cliff I had time to say vow." said Darmawan.
"What's the vow, sir?" ask Rendra curiously.
Darmawan sighed then he said to Rendra, "Who can help me, anyone, if it's a single man I'll marry my first daughter and if it's a single woman I'll raise my brother but if both are married then I'll give my farm to him."
Rendra was silent and she was very shocked by Darmawan's words. His heart shook violently because for Rendra marriage was not a game. He just wants to marry the woman he loves so much.
"Sorry but I_!" not finished continuing his words Darmawan has interrupted Rendra's words.
"Son Rendra this is my nazarku! I hope you don't reject it because Nazar is a promise you can't break" Darmawan said.
"But I don't deserve to marry your daughter!" answer Rendra.
"Son Rendra, a promise is a debt to be paid!" darmawan.
"But I won't be able to make her happy." Rendra looked more confused.
"Son Rendra, I believe you can make my daughter happy" said Darmawan.
"Sorry sir, should you think about it first?" said Rendra's mother who suddenly came out from inside.
"I'm very sure Nak Rendra is a good and responsible man so why do I think again" replied Darmawan.
"Is your daughter willing to marry my son?" ask the woman who is none other than Rendra's mother.
"Son Rendra and mom take it easy! it's all my business!" answer Darmawan full of confidence.
"Rendra, how did you decide?" ask mother.
"Actually I still hesitate to live it" replied Rendra
"Son Rendra, please marry my daughter!" darmawan said pleading.
Finally, Rendra nodded her head in a sign that she agreed to the match. Although Rendra hesitated but he felt sorry for Darmawan.
After the agreement occurred, Rendra invited Darmawan to rest because the night was getting late.
"Sorry sir, only a place like this can I give you!" said Rendra. .
"It's okay, son, it's enough" replied Darmawan.
Darmawan laid his body in Rendra's room. Room with a simple mattress but looks very neat. Meanwhile, Rendra is not under the mat and covered with a plaid sheath that became his favorite.
"Hey who are you?" the scream of a woman who suddenly pushed Rendra until she woke up from her sleep.
"Well, I dream!" said it.
"Why is Rendra?" ask Darmawan who was neat and wanted to perform dawn prayers.
"I dreamt of meeting a beautiful woman but she kicked me out!" Rendra told Darmawan his dream.
"Maybe it was Melisa and it took a struggle to conquer her because she was so stubborn" said Darmawan.
"Well...!"
