The The Melian Revelation

The The Melian Revelation
Episode 5's

The morning air blowing on Vrey's face carried the scent of dew, a scent that calmed the heart and made Vrey remember someone who meant a lot to him. Vrey felt the smell of the man in the morning dew.

For a moment, Vrey felt like he was lying next to that person, among a stretch of grass on the edge of the Telssier Forest. The man smiled at her, the gentle smile that Vrey missed.

Suddenly the cock from a distance woke him up. The girl blinked her eyes. He woke up and realized he was not in the meadow. He was in his tiny room and there was no one by his side. At once, Vrey felt a void fill his chest, but he hurriedly expelled the feeling.

Why should I dream of that person, anyway! fry Vrey.

The girl shuffled out of her warm blanket. The cold morning air pierced the skin. Very glanced at the bed next to him, the roll of a blanket that resembled a giant cocoon still wrapped around Aelwen's body.

Vrey smiled little to see it, it was raining last night and the air was getting very cold. Aelwen might not stand the cold. Not wanting to wake her roommate up, Vrey got off the bed slowly. It might still be dawn, the sky above the window

the room is still dark.

Two days have passed since the hunt for Shadhavar. Gill gave them all time off. Vrey spent all day sleeping. But today he intends to work on something that he has been delayed for a long time.

Vrey took off his nightgown and replaced it with a sleeveless shirt and shorts. After washing his face and tying his shoelaces, Vrey opened his bedroom door slowly. He wanted to leave before Aelwen woke up.

But how surprised Vrey was when he found Aelwen standing in front of the room, waiting for him.

“Where to?” tanyakanya. The girl looked at Vrey sharply with her eyes as blue as the sky. Vrey swore he could feel his face paled. “... Um, uh ... the.”

“I have a hunch you will go to Telssier Forest this morning,” Aelwen said in a loud voice.

“Shhhh,” by Vrey.

He dragged Aelwen down the stairs towards the empty dining room. As soon as they arrived, Aelwen continued his protest. “You promised to take me hunting Nymph. But every time you always leave quietly.”

“See you slept well. So I didn't wake you,” to Vrey.

“Do not have many reasons!” hardik Aelwen's. “If today you do not invite me, I will report you to Gill and the others,” he added half-threatening.

Vrey scratched his head in annoyance. Since five years ago he went back and forth to the Telssier Forest, alone, to hunt Nymphs. During that time he managed to keep it a secret from Gill and his accomplices. But a few months ago his secret was exposed by his old-fashioned roommate and always wanted to know it.

It is impossible to hide secrets from roommates, Vrey wrote in his heart. Especially if your roommate is Aelwen.

“You think it's some kind of picnic in the park?” ask Vrey.

“We have to go through a thick forest and cross a river. If you're not careful, you can drown.”

“I've heard that a thousand times,” argued Aelwen.

“Yesterday, the boy you just took there. Why can't I?”

“Yesterday we passed the bridge,” Vrey said.

Before Clyde got a job as a postman, they had to cross the Arquus River through another, more dangerous route. Vrey couldn't imagine how Aelwen would get through.

“Appointments are promises, Vrey,” said Aelwen desperately. “Tree. I'll be very careful. You don't have to worry about me. I'd love to see Nymph,” her request expectantly.

Vrey breathed an annoyed sigh. It was impossible to persuade this girl to forget her crazy desires. There was no choice but to invite Aelwen. “Alright,” says Vrey

eventually. “But remember that you're hurt, explain yourself to Gill and don't involve me!”

Aelwen nodded happily. The girl ran out of the shop excitedly until her skirt fluttered. The opposite with Vrey who stepped gontai following Aelwen.

Today I had to guide a city girl through the woods. Perfect ... rutuk Very while closing the shop door.

Aelwen down the streets of the city that began to be crowded with various activities. Of course Aelwen's figure became the center of attention of the residents of Mildryd who was starting his activities that morning. Aelwen's long blond hair rolled up to his back. Highlight her eyes were smart and her movements were also graceful. Not the usual girl

wandering in Mildryd.

Vrey followed behind Aelwen, walking while observing the girl. Indeed, since knowing the secrets of their plotters, Aelwen wanted to engage in adventure without realizing his own limitations. And sometimes it makes Vrey fat.

To ease his emotions, Vrey noticed the bustle around him. On the porch of a house, he saw two Vier-Elv men busy preparing merchandise. Some Vier-Elv— like Vrey— choose to live in the Human territory because their existence is more accepted here.

Vrey and Aelwen finally reached the gate on the southwest side of Mildryd. It was still early in the morning, but there were already many people going in and out of the gate. Vrey crossed the gate and walked down the path that cut through the banana plantation to head into the forest. Arriving in the forest he began to separate himself from the wood seekers who filled the area.

A thin mist enveloped the forest as Vrey arrived in a deserted area and rarely visited by Humans. The path he passed ended up in a steep cliff. Not too far below it the Arquss River flowed with great force.

“Telssier forest is located behind the forest across this river,” bright Vrey short.

“How will we cross?” ask Aelwen.

“Neither, come with me.” Vrey checked the surroundings. After making sure there were no people, he left the path and went into the forest.

It took quite a while for Vrey and Aelwen to walk through the forest on the edge of the cliff. The sound of water was getting louder. After passing through the rows of jackfruit trees, the Arquus River is again visible. The river that was once wide is now narrowed to six meters in width. But because of that narrowing, the flow of the river becomes very heavy.

“We crossed here,” said Vrey.

Aelwen. Vrey noticed the girl's face paled as she stared at the rushing water, but Vrey cursed her. Whoever falls down there must be dragged and drowned, even Elvar.

“Enak only,” reply Aelwen in a loud voice. Vrey just smiled wryly hearing that.

“So what are our plans now? Jump?” ask Aelwen.

“Iya,” reply Vrey kalem. He opened his leather bag, took out a piece of rope whose ends were already connected by iron hooks.

Vrey took a swing and threw the rope across. It took several attempts before Vrey managed to link it to a fairly large tree. Vrey's newly wounded arm by Shadhavar's horn doesn't make it easy for him to do that. He then pulled the rope as hard as he could to see if the tree was holding his weight.

After believing the rope would hold up, Vrey explained to Aelwen. “I'll cross first. Once there, I'll throw the end of this rope at you. Watch how it works.”

Finished saying so, Vrey formed a kind of knot at the end of the rope and slipped his left leg into the knot. Then he set his right foot on the edge of the cliff and swung forward. A few seconds later, Vrey's light body landed across the river.

“Most, right?” the thrill of throwing back his ‘ayunan’ on Aelwen.

Aelwen caught the rope and clasped it tightly. The girl seemed doubtful. After taking a swipe Aelwen set foot and swung his body forward. But her swing was too weak, Aelwen barely made it across the cliff.

Fortunately Vrey quickly caught Aelwen. He dragged the girl with all his might until the two of them fell on the ground. “Almost just!” vrey's breath was so tense.

Had Vrey not pulled Aelwen in time, the girl would have hung on the rapids. Who knows what could happen next. The trunk of the tree could have broken Aelwen's weight, or the girl could have lost her grip and fallen into the river.

After his breathing calmed down again, Vrey only realized Aelwen had fallen on him. “Can move aside?” ask Vrey. “I can't wake up, nih.”

“Ah .. yes, m-sorry,” Aelwen replied clumsyly. He hurriedly stepped aside so that Vrey could stand up.

Vrey cleaned up the dust that was dirtying his clothes. He then removed the rope from the tree. Without Aelwen being asked to help her roll the rope, that was when Vrey noticed a red hue adorning Aelwen's face.

“Not to be ashamed,” entertain Vrey. “Jump was not easy for those who are not used to.”

Instead of answering, Aelwen simply nodded clumsily. Vrey says nothing more and keeps the rope in the bag.

“We will enter the territory of Elvar,” Vrey reminded when they are ready to continue the journey. “Don't make loud noises.”

They walked for a while until they met a fairly large footpath. The road leads to a village not too far away. From the sidelines of the fog Vrey can see the roofs of tiny houses made of straw in the distance.

“What is Elvar village?” whispered Aelwen. Looks like he did too

look at those roofs.

“Not,” reply Vrey kalem “That's Dominia.”

Aelwen's eyes flashed with excitement. “Dominia? That's the village where the Vier-Elvs and Elvar Wasted live, right?”

Vrey nodded.

“Have you been there, Vrey?” ask Aelwen.

“No, since I was a child I grew up in Mildryd,” Vrey replied without turning his head.

“You are not curious what the place is like?”

Vrey smiled mockingly. “Not at all. Wh-wh-what for? They're just pathetic losers.”

Aelwen scrunched his forehead. “But you, right, Vier-Elv too?”

“Do not equate me with people who do not want to accept reality like them!” fry Vrey. “They built villages in the Elvar nation area, even living according to Elvar procedures. And for what? Until then they will not be considered part of the Elvar nation. To enter the Elvar region they need special permission, like like Humans.” Vrey ended his spurt with a long breath.

“What can I do,” Aelwen chimed. “Elvar pure blood is currently getting less and less. I'm sure the Elvars are deliberately harsh on them to reduce the number of Elvar married to a Human.”

But Vrey has no interest in continuing. Whatever Aelwen said would not change his opinion of the Vier-Elvs. So, he sped up his pace until they finally arrived in front of the densely growing ranks of trees.

“Telssier forest is behind these trees. Remember my message earlier,” Vrey reminded.

Vrey crosses trees and shrubs. Right behind it lay a small meadow. The field is dark. The morning sun had just peeked in the eastern horizon and had not yet penetrated the dense trees flanking the field.

Vrey quickened his pace. He didn't like being in that place for long. Not because of the gripping atmosphere, but because this place is full of memories with that person, six years ago.

The distinctive scent of grass burst out, reminding Vrey of his dream this morning. Very hurriedly left the field and headed towards the forest in front of him.

He finally set foot in the Telssier Forest. The forest was completely different from the forest he had passed through before. The trees here are thicker, sturdier, and older. The murmurs, screams, and indistinct moans sounded earthy, as if welcoming their presence among the grim trees.

Along the way through the Telssier Forest, Aelwen observed his surroundings unsettled. Vrey could see Aelwen's face was a little pale.

Is it possible that Aelwen was feeling anxious? Vrey smiled to himself.

He was willing to bet before today Aelwen had never entered the forest before. The forest of Telssier at dawn was a little scary, especially Vrey could see the Dark Mist lurking on the side of the forest. But Aelwen tried to hide his fear from Vrey.

He had wanted to go on an adventure with Vrey for a long time, and now the opportunity had arrived. At least Aelwen must have been trying to keep his face, Vrey thought.
