The Forest Behind the House

The Forest Behind the House
2. Budi Consciousness

After getting what he wanted. Mr. Bujang immediately carried out his duties. With his kamit mouth, he approached Budi's body which was still silent like a lifeless human.

Mr. Bujang then touched Budi's feet. Tuck a triangular miser between the thumb and index finger. Then, quickly, Mr. Bujang massaged the soles of Budi's feet.

For the first time, I made a sound. He screamed, screaming in pain. Making everyone in the house shocked by the screams that sounded so heartbreaking.

"What's up, sir?" ask papa.

"What happened to my son? What are you doing to him? What are you doing Budi!?" ask mom with a high tone.

"Let's calm Ms. Nunung."

"How can I calm down, my son is in pain!"

"Silent. I won't harm Nunung's buk kid."

"Ma .. help me .. sick ma, sick," said Budi in a clear tone.

"Jew. Patience, son," said Ms. Nunung while walking to approach Budi.

Mr. Bujang quickly prevented the intention of Bu Nunung.

"Don't, Mom."

"Why!?"

"He's not Budi Bu Nunung's son."

"What does Mr. Bujang mean?" ask papa anyway.

"Sir Edi, Miss Nunung. The one lying down right now is your son's body. But the tribe is not in your child's body."

"Suk-sukmas?" ask mama confused.

"Yes. The Sukma is not in his body. The sukma is wandering in the occult realm right now."

Mama sat down because she was shocked by what Mr. Bujang said. He was crying while closing his mouth. Dad quickly hugged my mom.

"Sir Bujang, please save Budi. Please save our son, sir," said the father in a clear tone.

"I'll try to help as much as I can. You guys just calm down. Help me with prayer."

Mr. Bujang again continues his duty to help Budi. He repeated what he did a moment ago. Again, I screamed in pain. The heartbreaking scream did not shake Mr. Bujang's intention in the slightest. He still continues what he did. Until Budi's body droops weakly and faints again.

"How sir?" ask papa.

"Thank God, everything went well. I managed to return Budi's soul back into his body."

"Thank God that's it," said papa while releasing a sigh of relief.

"Prophe Nunung. Soon he will realize. His body was too exhausted so it took a while to rest."

"Ma .. mama." Budi called out in a very limp voice, so it was barely audible at all.

"God, are you conscious, son?" mama asked as she hurried over to her son.

"What's wrong with me, Ma? Why does my mom look so sad?"

"There's nothing, son. Mama's just a little worried about your situation."

"What's wrong with me?"

"You were unconscious for almost twenty-four hours, Bud. Mama's supposed to ask, what's wrong with you, son? Why is it like this?"

"Ma, you should not ask anything first to Budi. Let our child recover first, then ask what happened," said papa while talking to mama.

Mama agreed. He changed the question with another question. Hiding anxiety with a little smile is hard for you to paint. Because the anxiety is still very large in the heart of the mother until this moment.

*****

One day and one night, mom and dad held their curiosity in what happened to their first child. Parents can resist, but young people can't.

Irfan as Budi's younger brother, could not help his curiosity. At dinner, he asks what happened to Budi before. Why his brother disappeared and was found under a fig tree.

Whereas before, the forest behind the house was not a haunted place for them. Because every day, they always herded their cows in the forest behind the house. Nothing happened before.

Irfan was afraid that his brother would do something wrong. So the invisible creature was angry and gave his brother a lesson. Indeed, a few days ago, they lost one of the calves.

It was Irfan's turn to herd the cows. But all of a sudden, there was no wind, no rain. The calf that Irfan was carrying disappeared without a trace.

Irfan tried to find the calf in the bushes. But there is no. He continued to search until the evening.

Because Irfan could not find the calf until dusk, he decided to go home. Irfan told me what happened to his brother. He decided to find the calf tomorrow.

The next day, not only was the calf they could not find, Budi also disappeared. Surprisingly again, after Budi was found, the calf was also around the fig tree. The place where Budi residents found unconscious that night.

Irfan is afraid that his brother made a pact with the spirits only to find their lost calf. That's why he can't wait to ask Budi what happened so he could faint.

"Don't you remember what happened before you fainted?" ask Irfan to start the question.

Budi just shook his head while dumbstruck erratically. He seemed confused and tried to think hard to remember what happened before.

"Yes you don't remember the hell bang," said Irfan somewhat annoyed.

"Irfan. Don't force your brother to remember what he doesn't remember" Mama said in an angry tone.
