Chapter 3 [Luvia]

Luviria Von Eidenburgh, the Eidenburgh family's third child, Rayner's fiancee is standing in front of Rayner.

Although Rayner had tried his best to keep his arrival in the trading town unknown to the Eidenburgh family, somehow the girl he least wanted to meet was now in his presence.

"What's wrong with your surprised face? So disgusting."

Luviria's sniffling voice buzzed in Rayner's ears, Waking him up from his shock.

"S–Good night, Luviria. How are you?"

"There's no need for pleasantries, sir" Luviria's sharp eyes stared at Rayner.

"You better explain why you're here!?" asked Luviria in an irritated tone.

"Isn't that supposed to be my question, why are you here, Luviria?"

"Huh?"

Not only was she glaring at Rayner, Luviria was now grinding her teeth.

"How can you answer a question with a question, sir?"

With a sinister expression, the girl brought her face closer to Rayner.

Now their faces were very close, their lips almost touching. In a panic, Rayner slightly pulled his head back

"Explain! Why are you sneaking into my town?"

Luviria's impact echoed in the narrow room space.

"Have you forgotten the manners of the nobles when visiting the territory of other nobles?"

"I'm just gonna stay overnight, so I figured"

Looking for an excuse, Rayner turned his gaze to a corner of the room.

"For what did you look in that direction, was your brain left there?"

Rayner returned his gaze to Luviria's burning eyes. "I knew I was supposed to come to Eidenburgh castle before I got here, but I guess it'll take some time because of me..."

"Oh... So your time is worth more than our time?"

The white-haired girl became impatient. Her beautiful thin eyebrows now look spooky with the appearance of blood feathers on her beautiful face.

"That's not what I mean, you know, I'm just gonna stay a day in Eidenburgh and I don't want to waste your family's time either." Rayner's eyes glanced a little at the wall clock. "Moreover, it's late at night, so I thought–"

Rayner's mind was filled with questions over what Luviria was doing.

"Fufu..." Luvira grinned. "It's not like that, sir. I don't hate this engagement" he continued.

Luvira is a cunning girl, it is Rayner's impression on Luviria. However, he never expected Luviria to be quite good at guessing one's thoughts.

Not believing Luviria, Rayner asked more deeply.

"Your words make me even more confused. So, if it's not that, then what's your real purpose?"

Rayner put on a serious face, staring intently at Luvira.

"Sure, to awaken your ambition, sir."

Rayner had heard these words come out of Luviria's mouth many times, the girl in front of him was always trying to pull out Rayner's ambition.

This girl, Luviria, always bragged about such things. He once swore that he would continue to accompany Rayner even if his ambition was to rule the world.

"Don't joke!"

"Am I kidding you about this?"

"Come on..." Rayner sighed "You know, if I go back with him, I will definitely leave you. So why are you awakening my ambition?"

Luviria's grin turned into a smile that everyone would hate. He flicked his white hair and approached Rayner, sat down beside him, and leaned on his shoulders. His fingers began to play on Rayner's chest.

Rayner just listened to it.

From behind Rayner's clothes, Luviria pulled out a necklace on the end of which contained a ruby ring bearing her name.

Luviria said spoiled which was very incompatible with her.

But Rayner did not care much, he assumed the girl in front of him was a girl that was difficult to guess.

A loud bang suddenly echoed throughout the city.

The bell of the clock tower is the source of that sound. The fourth sound today shows the time at 12 p.m.

Simultaneously, Rayner's room door was knocked from the outside.

"Come in!"

The voice maker was Luviria's servant, who had been waiting at the door.

Luviria knew why her service waiting outside picked her up. 12 O'clock is the deadline given by Lord Vittorio, Luviria's father, for her to meet Rayner.

"My father, Vittorio Von Eidenburgh, expects your presence tomorrow morning, sir." After whispering Rayner's ear, Luviria pulled herself off Rayner's shoulder and left.

"Good night sir, may you have a good dream tonight."

"Excuse me, sir, good night" the servant looked down, saluted him, and closed the door.

When her servant was about to close the door, Luviria recalled something. "Think well, Mr. Rayner. Money isn't enough to save her." Luvira again smiled slylyly as she said so, as if putting mental pressure as a warning to Rayner not to mess with her engagement.

Rayner was silent, his face down. He hated Luviria's smile earlier. However, he hated even more what Luviria said was the truth.

During the five-day trip from the capital to Eidenburgh, all the plans that came to Rayner's mind always required a powerful post in the empire.

Rayner's family, who are only Barons, will be excommunicated at the auction. In fact, if she won the auction, her family would be pressured by the higher nobles to give Alisa to them.

Moreover, the only high-class nobles close to the Alberic family were only Eidenburgh nobles.
