Starting from the climbing plan that I had planned for a long time with Mas Gale, my upperclassman first at High School. Although at first confused about where to climb, finally Mas Gale invited me to climb Mount Slamet through a new path (Dipajaya Line) located in Pulosari District, Pemalang Regency. Mas Gale knows this path because he is a native of Pemalang Central Java, his home in the Semahirok area is not far from Mount Slamet and also my daughter's house. Mas Gale decided to create a climbing chat group to make it easier for us to coordinate because in addition to us finally there are some additional personnel who will leave with us. From this chat group I finally met and met with Mas Handri, Mas Seno, Mas Maston and Mas Kiki. From the first do not know each other eventually become close friends, even so a very solid climbing team.
I also invited two of my closest people to take part in this climb, Vincent and Hari. Apparently Vincent and Hari are very enthusiastic to join this climb as well as to fill the Christmas holidays and long new year. Hari and Mas Seno are novice climbers, they have never climbed the mountain at all but my friends are very welcome to them even happy because they can add friends.
Friday night on December 21, 2019 at 20.00 WIB we have gathered at one point in Cilandak Town Square to be picked up by travel. But because of the long traffic jam, we also had to wait an hour and a half until finally travel arrived in Cilandak to pick us up. We got in a Luxio car for Rp. 120.000/person. Quite unexpectedly, the travel driver carried other passengers with us so that a total of 10 people were with us. The ambiance of the insistence made us bete. Not to mention the driver took us through a long jammed road, namely Bekasi – Cibitung.
At 03.00 WIB we just entered the Cipali toll road, 3.5 hours we were jamming in the middle of a rush atmosphere, it felt like our bones were all crushed. At 05.00 WIB we entered the Brexit Toll, until finally we arrived at Mas Gale's house at 09.00 WIB. Upon arrival at Mas Gale's house we were welcomed by his mother Mas Gale. Mom has prepared us breakfast, tea, coffee, hot ginger. Waaaah. bendeki anak sholeh ya. Let's just say all men, even though in every climb I was, I was always the only woman.
After we finished hitching a bath, breakfast, distribution of cargo, and repacking we were introduced to Mas Maston, a friend of Mas Gale Pemalang natives. Even though I'm a woman myself, but the keril load is never picky. I always used to not be spoiled and not want to be privileged. Finished beberes, we immediately set off using a pick up car that has been rented by Mas Gale from his high school friends first at a price of Rp. 250.000/once way. How happy I and my friends are to ride in a pick up car, rarely do we ride like this. We stopped by the Randudongkal market for less equipment, then resumed our journey to Pulosari Village.
At 13.00 WIB we arrived at Pulosari Village, a village that is above an altitude of 1000 masl on the north slope of Mount Slamet. During the trip, we were presented with cloud overcast, drizzling, until the rain was quite heavy. Arriving in the middle of the journey it turns out that the pick up car can not go up because some parts of the road are being repaired, repaved with the aim of facilitating the climbers who want to go to the Dipajaya basecamp. Finally, inevitably we have to go down at the intersection and then we walk about 20 minutes with the state of the road that continues to climb. Our eyes were treated to an amazingly beautiful sight. Green rice fields, vegetable fields, houses, and farms residents.
Slowly the fog came down and along the road we went through was covered with a thick enough fog, the cold air was increasingly felt. I'm exhausted in the travel car can't walk. At that time I thought if I continued walking then I would not be strong to continue the climb. Rejeki did not run anywhere, there was a young man offering his services to give me a ride to the Dipajaya basecamp. Arriving at basecamp the atmosphere of many climbers is very felt. I also met Mas Syamsul ranger who served in the Dipajaya basecamp. This is my second climb on Mount Slamet after I had previously climbed this mountain through the path of Blambangan. But it did not reach the top because me and my friends continued to be battered by storms and thick fog. We also chose to go down to save ourselves. Rather than forcing the ego to keep climbing.
Our registration is done by paying a levy fee of Rp. 15,000/person, complete administration, and leave Mas Gale's original KTP guarantee. At 14.30 WIB we perform zuhur prayer first and then continue the climb. Arriving at the welcome gate, we did a prayer together and ended with our typical alaium gambreng tos and photos briefly then we started climbing. Pass through the rice fields, fields and farms of residents and enter the pine forest that has been transformed into a game arena such as tree houses, rope bridges, flying fox, and so on, and there is a camp area for those who do not want to climb but want to feel camping. This place is called melogi love hill tour. Because this village is already above an altitude of more than 1000 masl, then the beauty of the scenery is very extraordinary can already be seen. Even the clouds and the view of Sumbing Sindoro mountain can be enjoyed without having to get tired of climbing to the top.
After passing through the pine forest, we were treated to a track that began to climb to post 1, post 2, and the next climbing post. Around 16.00 WIB we arrived at post 1, with the land already sloping we decided to fill the stomach by eating rice megono with fried tempe that had been wrapped before the climb. As usual we mix 5 rice packs into one place and eat them together. There is no disgust or prestige eating together with many hands.
After eating I do the ashar prayer then I excuse urinating. I was confused to find a spot to urinate because almost all spots are many “winnya”. Repeatedly I “asked permission”, but many places are not allowed. Until finally 2 invisible little boys who can only be seen by “mata 3Dku” only allow me to urinate. After the jam urinating garbage of course I do not leave it alone. Other friends have cleaned the former place of eating neatly. I had time to reprimand Hari not to smoke under the tree because there were 2 small children who continued to pay attention to me.Jam 16.30 WIB we continued climbing back to post 2.
Finally without thinking I chose to go down. I talked with Mas Gale about this situation before, compromised with the other friends and they agreed and I let the six of them keep climbing, me and Hari down. the logistics in my bag and his bag Hari was taken out and I gave it to my friends for the needs above, me and Hari-pun down. I think it's good to be caught from now on, so we can get off before dark rather than have arrived at some new post when Hari drop, can be more trouble business. Especially if drop in post 4 (Samarantu), hiiiii amit-amit deh.
During the descent trip we both met some climbers after passing post 1. It was getting darker and no other climbers were climbing, both of us were staying. Hari was already feeling frightened because there was a noise of very many steps. I thought we were surrounded at the time. I took selfies in several locations, old habits that I did again. Sure enough when in the basecamp I checked some photos that were caught on camera. A white shadow like a woman stroking her belly, a long black haired woman, and a face monitoring us in the thicket of trees. Even then the noise, strange sound, there is even a voice call ‘cuy’, ‘eh’, ‘woi’ sailed.
We both no longer cared about it at that time, we continued to accelerate our steps. When I see a white moon covered in white clouds I hope that the cloud will not shift from the dispute, do not let the moon is nongol with its light. But my hope was in vain, slowly the cloud shifted to let the moon emit its rays and in a flash that was also a white shadow fluttering past us. The day tightened his grip, his fear felt I was the same but I chose to remain calm.
Many times we took turns falling, I felt like someone was pulling my hand hard but Hari was quick to always pull my other hand. “However the condition we must remain equally y”, Hari knows with this excess of my eyesight, I am an easy target for invisible creatures to invite interaction with me. Always me if it looks dumb. Until we finally got on the road. It feels like this down track is much longer than the uphill track. We feel the path is very long for hours, but normally it can be reached in just 1 hour. Suddenly we realized that we had been lost many times. Again we were in the fields of the people, in the fields of the people where we could not find it during the pampering. We continued to beg for directions until I finally heard a voice that was quite hoarse and heavy say, “kowe nopo teapot rack nduwur ndo, wes in enteni koh”, (why don't you get to the top, nduwur ndo, I've been waiting for it), for a moment I forgot my memory.
According to the story, the day we were straying, I kept walking with my eyes closed. Hari realized that I was already in turmoil, but Hari still chose silence even though she was terrified. Many times my hand jerked his hand while saying with a hoarse voice and his weight “do not be afraid” but Hari memorized if it is not my original voice. Day only receding. Along the way, pocongs, beautiful women, even children dingklikpun seen seliweran to and fro.
Upon arrival at the gate welcome, I ask Hari to kiss my hand “aku go home, kiss hand” remain with a heavy hoarse voice and eyes closed. Then I fell down and cried. That's where Hari realized that from now on she was walking with him, not just me. Arriving at Basecamp I was still unconscious. Mas Syamsul who already knew this situation just laughed and continued to invite me to talk. According to Hari's story, I didn't even feel cold when it was cold that night.
I refuse to sit on a pedestal, do not want to sit on a chair just want to sit on the cold floor with chatter ngalor ngidul unclear. Even I do not hesitate to ask for burning incense. Until finally Mas Syamsul secretly and komat-kamit satin, at that time the figure in my body knew it then snapped “nga need to whisper when talking”, kontan basecamp people laugh. Even in the middle of the night I took a bath and shampooed with cold water. I just felt me showering with the warm water that the 2 kind-hearted little boys had provided. It's only fair that when I go back inside the basecamp all eyes look at me in wonder, maybe they think a crazy lady in the middle of the night takes a shower. Until I finally felt my body tired and crying and then went back to sleep and cried again and went to sleep. Mas Syamsul was very kind to take care of me and ready in my time of turmoil.
The next day, I realized that I was coming by the moon. When I heard the story of Hari, I just realized that I may be easily confused because I was on the moon, Wallahualam.
But I was very grateful to be met by the grandmother who led me and Hari out of our lost in the forest of the climbing path of Mount Slamet.
